Welcome to Run 50 States My Way! My name is Ashley and together with my husband Ryan we are traveling the U.S. to complete a race in each state. My husband runs marathons and I mix and match the distances; my race and my pace. This channel will highlight Runcations for every level of runner. Adventure is out there and we hope you join us by SUBSCRIBING as we vlog about the different races, training, and the travel experiences with all there is to see, do and taste in each location.
im driving from CT. doing the grand avenue your then next day the river styx. thinking for day 3 to do the into to caving, looks fun and challenging. i will also do biking around the area,
Thank you for watching, my camera has stabalizing on it I use the DJI Osmo. When in Knoxville I didn't realize most of my footage was filmed without the stabilizer turned on. I'm still new at vlogging and learning, if my hobby continues to grow I do plan to upgrade.
Have you read the Book of Mormon? The Book of Mormon is in the same timframe as the hopewell Culture and takes place in the same area. It is very possible that the Hopewell people are the same as the Nephites/Lamanites in the Book of Mormon. I really beleive they are the same. If you want to read records of the people I bet you would really enjoy reading the Book of Mormon.
Love, love, love this! Informative, fun, educational! Great presentation for 16th state. You are doing a fantastic job narrating, our voice and enunciation is so professional. I could taste the Runza from your description & Ryan's perfectly timed comments. "OG's" with Oregon Trail on the green screen ! Your mom is NOT going to like the "rattlesnake" warning. Scenery after tunnels in amazing on that narrow road. You covered so much on this trip! Your planning preparation is very evident. Eagerly Awaiting next episode at Hot Springs. What I cannot believe is how you completed this video with all you were going through at your last trimester & birth of your beautiful twins! You are amazing!
Thanks for watching. Not all who mask are to make a statement and I agree it is difficult to vlog with them on, unfortunately sometimes especially in the last year I had to maintain masks when many were able to stop. It will be nice moving forward in future events and travels to not need them as much provided things in my health stay positive.
Thanks for the suggestion when I remember to turn on the Rocksteady setting my Osmo works great especially for someone just starting out. I still learn tips and tricks with each video and am not a go pro fan. We just invested in a gimble since our channel is hobby based.
@@Run50StatesMyWay which makes perfect sense. Can I ask you why you’re not a GoPro fan? I own two GoPro Hero9s.. and I love them both. I live in NW Columbus.. Plain City to be exact. The Columbus Zoo is probably the best place I got video from with my GoPro cameras
So I am glad I thought to search RU-vid before this weekend! First off love that I found another runDisney person ❤ I am running the Chickamauga Half this weekend to hopefully get a POT for Dopey 2025🤞 second, I ran the 5k in this video (spot me just after the 5k cannon leftish in a blue sparkle skirt 😋) I was glad to see some footage from the half and marathon course so I could kind of know what to expect 👍 looking forward to watching some more of your vlogs, and I think I am kind of inspired to try doing a 50 states thing! Also, after you show the merch at the end, my husband and puppy off to the left 😋 they both will be there this time too! Glad for your info on spectating for them to use!
@@Run50StatesMyWay full went good until around mile 15 left knee hurt the rest of the way. Dealt with right foot problem as well. I gritted it out stuck with my plan running water station to water station. My body of had to put me crawling to the finish line before I was going to allow myself to walk. 5:09:14 without injuries I would have been under 5. It's good Ryan got to do both I assume he did. Woman lives in my area did the bee and cbus I'll be back next year except for the half. I don't plan to do another full ever again, but if I do it'll be Columbus for the 45th year just bc it'll be 45th. I enjoy doing half.
@@Run50StatesMyWay awe I saw a bunch of funny signs Sunday. Probably my favorite around mile 24 a woman was holding one that said "if you aren't wearing underwear smile". Lol
Ashley I've noticed you look for discount, clearance, and free things at races. Please tell me what free things I should expect to find or to look for this weekend? I am on a super tight budget. At one point I thought I wasn't going to be able to come at all😢
I can't speak to the Columbus Expo this year sadly, I often struggle to get to it with work. Yes I'm always budget conscious and I know others are so I try to highlight things like that. My favorite as you see my videos are past race items that are on super sale. I will say Goodwill is often at the Columbus Expo and has so many nice items that are super cheap and high quality plus it goes to a good cause. Have fun and be safe this weekend! Glad you are still able to make it
@@Run50StatesMyWay I should be on the lookout for any free food after the race besides water and bananas? I've never done a race this high of caliber before. I am not used to seeing anything other than water and bananas. I can't believe I am saying this, but I did Minster 10k with over 1,200 entries they only offered water.
@@Run50StatesMyWay I should be at the expo Saturday around 930. It would be nice to meet you and Ryan. I saw it's a high chance of rain on Saturday. Are you guys doing the 5k?
Can't stop running in Piqua, Ohio local to me running store has a set of those. The owner has been generous enough to allow me to use them for recovery during my marathon training. I've used them 10-12 times. They are very expensive but OMG they are amazing. After my 16 and 20 mile runs I used them that day (Sunday), Monday, and Wednesday. I used them today after 7 mile run, Tuesday I'll do 10 mile run use them, even though Friday is day off I'll use them before coming to Columbus Saturday morning. This will be a 1 and done full marathon for me. I love halfs, but the expense I've had just training for the full has been expensive.
It would be nice to see video update on the 50 state boards filling up I am curious now after watching some of your videos. Being that I've never been to a expo those videos have definitely caught my attention lol. It's like a candy store for a kid lol
Expos are my favorite! Glad you see the value in me putting up videos of them. I have a lot of content coming and am behind in posting, just started a new day job, so keep watching for sure. Definitely check out the expos, total candy store and the Columbus one is nice.
@@Run50StatesMyWay I am assuming you guys are doing Columbus Marathon.? Hopefully get to meet you guys. I live live in Greenville. 12 miles east of Ohio Indiana state line.
@@Run50StatesMyWay I am planning to sleep in my car in the parking garage Saturday night lol. On a extremely tight budget. I already want to go back next except for the half, but with early planning I'll get hotel room next year lol.
Great to see your video! And great to have a chance to meet you at the expo/registration. Thanks for stopping by our table, and hope you get a chance to make it out to the Monument Marathon soon.
What time of the year were you there? We are planning on first week of June in 2024, so wondering what the heat will be like. We’re Aussies but live in the mountains here so our home weather is alpine cold in winter and mild in summer. Not as accustomed to heat like most Aussies are.
Hello Aussies! We were there in June and it is hot but comfortable at night because it's desert climate. My recommendation is get Columbia clothing that keeps you protected and cool and definitely a hat. Lots of water and an electrolyte mix. The tipee was actually really comfortable at night it has an air conditioning unit and there was a mini fridge. The heat was also one of my concerns and I had no problem.
@@Run50StatesMyWay ok. Sounds pretty much like outback weather in summer. We wear hats and take water everywhere (drummed into Aussie kids since kindy - we’re in our 50s so the hat is another limb by now). Other than transitioning from fall/winter here, we should acclimatise ok. Thanks for getting back so quickly. Your video was very informative. We are planning a road trip series from Montana to Arizona in May-June next year. Feel free to virtually tag along and offer us tips if you have them.
Yay!!!! Definitely, our plan is to do something a bit different this year and stop at all the sites along the course #partyintheback to show that the course is for everyone, look for us
I was just joking with the song I typed below. That would be funny background music while he ran the dirt track. Anyway that museum basement is a car guys area 51!!!!! OMG!! Lock me down there for a day! I was surprised 2 👀 a top fuel dragster down there. All the indy 500 pace cars from the late 70's to last indy 500 are down there. I need to go look at that again.
I love the idea of Ryan having a theme song lol and yes that place is amazing even for someone who knows nothing about cars like me it is like going to an art museum
Cake song while Ryan is running the dirt track: 🎶he's going the distance... He's going for speeeed.... He's all alone (all alone) in his time of neeeeed...🎶
Continued: 🎶cause he's racin'& pacing plotting a course, 🎶he's fighting & biting on his horse..... 🎶the sun has gone down and the moon has gone up, And long ago somebody left with the cup...🏆🎶 But he's striving &driving& hugging the turns......
Wonderful idea for a channel, personally I'm excited to run the columbus marathon in october and I'm glad you got to experience the city. How hectic was the traffic/crowd situation getting to the race? (the start issue is great to keep in mind that you mentioned)
Thank you so glad you like our channel idea. Rule of thumb for Columbus plan ahead and get to down town early at least an hour and a half before start for parking and walking to the start. The exits can and will back up especially if roads start to close.
