My belt just broke today on a used x350. I'm glad I saw this before replacing the belt tomorrow, if mine is the same I'll be right after it w/ cut off wheel. Thanks for the tip
Thank you! I appreciate the time and effort you put into this video. There’s a 8+ week waitlist to get a mower serviced where I live. My mower’s belt broke last week and because of your tutorial, I , a middle aged woman who never took a small engine repair class in my life, was able to replace it!
Thorough and comprehensive. It is a long one but not a minute was wasted. Thanks!

I just had shoulder surgery and your video helped me get my blades off and sharpened by myself, one armed. (And a knee for the pry bar)! Awesome video! Thanks buddy.
I like the quick change filter. No problem and oil looks clean. You might have to add an oz or two after every other oil change but other than that I'm happy with it. Been using it for about 8 years now or whenever they camd out with it.
Excellent video. I appreciate your clear instructions, no unnecessary chatter, music or side jokes. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos to save me so much time!

Excellent video, i took my deck off 7 or 8 years ago and never used it, needed it for a job yesterday looked for a removal video so i could reattach it. this video was excellent, clear explanations with perfect visuals. I dont like to criticize people trying to help others, however i do want to compliment you, i came across 2 other videos first and i could not see anything they were doing. That is how i came across yours. Thanks again and great instructional for someone that wouldnt have a clue. What i needed was to see which holes to use on rear mounts and where the cable went, also realized i had lost the pin to secure the cable. Thanks
What's the thread size on the quick change is 3/8-18 NPTF? I'm looking at using this design on a Kohler 7000 series for Craftsman/Troy-Bilt instead of the yellow plastic oil drain kit that Kohler sells. John Deere also sells a longer 5-inch version p/n AM131612. I saw one for sell on eBay and this was how i found out about the part number. Kohler also has another quick-change fitting that is all metal with a 90 degree on it. P/n 25 462 12-S* 2" 25 462 13-S 3". It's about $45 and $52 for those fittings. The AM131612 was being used on a John Deere L130 with a Kohler Command Pro CV23S engine. To install the Kohler 90-degree fittings, a pipe extension would be required to clear the frame. Do you have any videos showing those Kohler fitting being installed? I didn't want a long quick disconnect hose. And want something similar to the John Deere design. Is the John Deere quick change more reliable than the Kohler yellow quick disconnect fitting?
Excellent video, I found it because I picked up a cheap 22v46 unit from local fire dept and needed to fix some issues. Had a suggestion on the part about installing a rear link on the deck on the right side as well. It is a great solution to the design flaw of allowing only left side to be adjustable. However, even after the link is installed, the deck is still quite low, even on the setting of 6, even when the nuts are tightened to the top of the threads. A solution to this is inserting a 1" bushing ( a cut section of 3/8 iron pipe works well) above the nut on both sides. With this the nuts can be tightened to halfway, with a leeway of adjustment on either side. Also at that level, Setting 3 or 4 gives a mild cut, 2 gives a moderate cut and setting of 1 a very low cut, almost scalps. With 5 or 6, the deck is pulled up to its highest level possible and travel without mowing is very good and tight and rattle free even over bumpy ground. You also would need to tighten the front nut as well.
I've got a smoking then stall T240 now. I'm gonna change out the fuel pump, change the oil and drain gas and add fresh gas. Hopefully this will correct the issue. Pulled the oil dipstick and it was way up the stick and smelled like gas. Figure it might be the fuel pump. Have you done any short videos on this?
Your carburetor let loose because of dirt. You need to clean the carburetor. I have a video on that issue. Search “gas in engine oil “ on my channel. That should pull it up. It’s not the same carburetor and you may get lucky and just need to clean yours out. The fuel pump is not your issue. You will also need to drain old contaminated gas out of your engine and if you have an oil filter replace it. Do this after you cleaned the carburetor.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines Thanks for the fast response Looks like the video is rebuilding the carb. I was hoping complete gas drain and fresh gas along with oil change etc would get it. I've not got a great place to work on it. Appreciate your input but the carb deal was a bit more than i expected.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines This video at 4:06 mark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-atXjMQmb1b0.html is what led me to fuel pump problem. But i suppose the stall after smoke indicates the carb problem?

Great video and super easy to follow. I have a John Deere X125 (I'm in France so may be a European model number) and the instructions worked perfectly. Thank you!!
Nice explanation on how to start it, and mine will start, but from i hour use from new will not run at part throttle, 50:1 fresh mix, been back to 2 stihl dealers, where i purchased new, they gave me the run around and could not fix, went to another who said "why do you want part throttle, idle and flat out only"...what? Read somewhere to replace the carby, so an ebay carby went on, brand new Stihl carby went in the bin. Ran well for about 18 months and back to stalling on part throttle. I've given up on Stihl, bought a used Shindaiwa DH230, great, no more Stihl for me.

What a vicious run-in with some wood/rocks possibly cause a head gasket to fail ? I had a PERFECTLY running YT3000. Had a pretty bad run in with some wood in some high grass that wound up killing the engine. Ever since then I’m getting white smoke. Still seems to run fine. But occasionally sounds a little odd like it could be slightly misfiring along with whiteish smoke periodically mostly upon deceleration I’d say. Thanks in advance if you wind up seeing this !
Not sure what may have happened without seeing the machine and checking into it. I would suggest checking oil level to make sure it is not over filled, then your air filter (the paper one) to make sure it is not holding any oil in it. These two issues can make white smoke. If your engine oil level is on the low side? Yes, you may have a blown head gasket, if the head gasket was weak and the engine worked very hard at some point, it may have been enough to blow the gasket. Check your spark plug to see if your burning oil. If you start to see a lot of carbon build up or oil on the spark plug, you most likely have a blown head gasket.
getting that stupid back guide pin out with tractor barely off the ground is a giant pain in the backside. Took me 1/2 to remove and 15mins to put back in.
