When I was first tossed into a Microsoft 365 support role, I had never heard of half of the tools. But I got down to business, learning everything I possibly could. Now, I want to share that knowledge with you while fostering a community of people here to learn and share with others. Sometimes, I share videos about other tools that I use in my work, such as video editing and time management tools. Basically, If I learn something, I am happy to share that learning with you all. Whether you are here to learn one thing, need to learn multiple things, or just want to join a community of cool people with valuable knowledge, welcome.
After filming this video, I was chatting with someone in Productivity Lab about templates. They mentioned a need for templates in Word. The steps are the same, its just the file type is different. Hope this extra context helps others. 🙂
Hi, page breaks are a feature not a bug so it cannot be fixed permanently. What usually happened when I find a stray page break in my document is that I copied and pasted from a document that someone else created and the page break with the copy as part of the formatting. The best you can do is instead of using CTRL +V for paste, you can right click and choose keep text only. This should ignore the page break. For example, when working on a longer document with sections it is standard formatting to have each new section start at the top of a new page. If one section is 2.5 pages long I would NOT want the next section to start on the page 2.5, it SHOULD start on page 3. To enforce that formatting I could use a page break. A prior boss did this all the time so when I combined documents I would have page breaks in places that no longer made sense.
In my opinion, it is very useful within a company if you set up the expectation with your coworkers about how they will get time on your calendar. The office hours example was something I really did with my coworkers because otherwise I would spend all day answering questions and not getting other tasks done 😊 Since you mentioned shared calendars; if you are looking to use bookings for a group of people, the shared bookings page may be a good ideas so that you can set up one page for the whole team vs each person setting up an individual page.
It is great to know that the personal bookings is working for you. I think it is more applicable to the average office worker than the shared calendar. Thus that will be the next video to offer a balanced view.

Hi, this is a good idea and I have added it to my tracker. I need to look at my content calendar to see where it can fit. But to share quickly for today. If you go to Save as > click drop down were it says PowerPoint presentation (pptx) there will be an option for PowerPoint Template (potx). This would save to your custom office templates folder on your C drive, and then you should be able to choose it from available templates.

I need your help. My boss asked me to create a flow. His requirement is to create an item which goes to two supervisors, and then they both review the item to approve or reject it with their comments. After that, it goes to the manager to review both supervisors' reviews, whether they approve or reject it with their comments. The manager then makes a final decision whether to approve or reject it with his comments to the user. Moreover, he wants me to integrate this flow into Teams.
One way to do this could be to use the Approvals app in Teams. They recently implemented the option to send an approval to multiple people in a sequence. If you do use Power Automate, what you are looking for is mostly in this video. I had 2 approvers and then a 3 rd person. You would just need to modify the false statement to send the approval to the 3 person vs terminating the flow. As for the Teams component, you can go to workflows and use one of those templates. If one does not exist, you can simply create your flow in Power Automate and then pin something like a form or list as a tab. People would fill it out and then trigger the flow.
One thing that used to drive me crazy was the data entry fields in Lists was not in the order I wanted and there did not seem to be a way to change that. Well, the Integrate > Customize Forms feature fixed that problem. YEA.
I just want to know at 9:51 how you put one start and wait for an approval with two conditions where as I see an individual start and wait for condition and condition 2 to add on my end.
I am not sure that totally get your question. But with this approval flow, I have the parallel path which I put in by clicking the + sign in between when an item is created and the first start and wait for approval. Then I added a condition control to each one, both have a true or false path based on the outcome. The thing that I sometimes mess up when going fast, is I insert the parallel path below the first start and wait, but it needs to be inserted below the when an item is created.
@@HeatherMajors I got till your both "condition and condition 2" but the only thing which I cant figure it out is your second last step which is "start and wait for an approval" in your parallel approval. In your video I see one "start and wait for an approval" for both conditions where as on my end after condition I have to add an action separately on both conditions of "start and wait for an approval".How I can add just one "start and wait for an approval" like in your video.
I hope you can help. I have reported my problem of camtasia 2023 and 2024 crashing (it is July 2024) when making a screen recording. I have watched many many tutorials but there are some information missing. 1) I am using an external microphone. A blue yeti? Is that okay or does it burden camtasia? 2) , I'm using a Logitech MX burrito WebCam. Is that okay? Does it overburden camtasia? 3), I am using and iMac computer. 2017. with software 12.7.5 I am assuming that's fine. Is it? 4), I have 32 GB of RAM. I'm assuming that's more than enough. 5), I am displaying a Google slides file in presenter mode when I am recording my screen. Is that okay? 6) when I go to set up and get ready for recording I'm confused about what to do about screen size. The slides are in widescreen so I naturally want to record in wide screen say 1280 by 720. So any bigger than that is going to be a problem for camtasia? 7), so is this what I should be doing: I choose 1280 by 720 and then resize the Google slides on my screen to fit into the grid lines Camtasia has given me? Rather than resize the camtasia grid lines to fit my slides? 8) do I just hit new recording or should I organise it as a new project first? 9) I've been using camtasia for a few years so should I go into preferences and delete all proxy videos? I feel these are the sorts of questions I should've been asked when I sort support so I'm asking them here because I'm really not sure where else to ask them. If you can't help me I guess I will need to go to one of your recommended experts. It is a shame that I need to go outside camtasia to get my problem sorted. Please, any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
HI Mark, to start off please know that I don't work for TechSmith and never have. I am just a person on RU-vid who needed to learn a thing and thought to share that learning with others. That being said I will be happy to share what I have learned via my journey. 1. An external microphone is not a problem. I have used a Yeti and then upgraded to a Rode Broadcast mic and that is not a problem either even though it is more power intensive than the Yeti. 2. A web camera should be no problem either. I use a Logitech Brio 4k. Even in 4K I rarely have any crashing problems unless I go over 30 minutes. Then Camtasia seems to struggle with long 4K footage. I have noticed the larger the file size the more crashing I experience. 3. I don't know about Mac computers so cannot give a reliable answer. What I can say is that if your graphic card is older it may be struggling with processing and thus causing issues. This of course depends on what you are trying to do. 4. That is plenty of RAM. 5. Presenting slide and recording should not be a problem. Again, I would circle back to if you are recording while presenting, how long is the presentation. Maybe it is the time and size of the file. For example, if I do what you are doing but it goes over 30 minutes I start to see problems. In my experience Camtasia is not great a longer videos. 6. The screen size is going to depend on your graphic card and what your computer will handle. Mine is 3840 x 2160 and it is fine. But my computer has a high end graphic card and 4k monitors. 7. If Camtasia does not recognize the size of my screen I just resize the grid lines they give me. Again, only if your computer can handle it. 8. Not sure what you are asking. But if I have multiple recordings for one video, they all go into the same project. One project per video works for me. 9. I don't know about the proxy videos. Since I offload my video assets to a backup drive, I don't have issues with taking up too much space on the computer. Therefore, not sure if that causes an issue with Camtasia. So, in my case I see crashing a lot with longer videos, ones that have large file sizes, and sometimes if I am trying to make a complicated edit when the autosave kicks off. I have gotten into the habit of just manually saving before big edits just in case. Again I don't work for Camtasia so these are just my experiences and do not represent any technical insight from the company.

As you can probably tell from my rambling I am quite stressed as I have been struggling with this now for a few weeks. My first ever video two weeks back with Camtasia 2023 was 23 minutes long and it worked okay. I don't know why I've been having trouble since because I've been doing the same thing and with later attempts I have a timer in the room so I know they are under 15 minutes. Thank you for sharing your interest in learning about the integrate function. Things like that are interesting to me, but I never know if others are like, "ok Heather, you can stop being a nerd now." Yes someone actually said that, lol.
Steam is a a light weight editing tool and does not allow action buttons or clickable images. The best you have is the interactive feature where you can put a Microsoft Form in the video. Hi, the biggest difference between Essentials and Create is that Create includes Audiate. This is a software that you can use to do text based editing on a video. For example, I was editing a video from a live session and the instructor said UMH several times. I wanted to take those out but it would take too long to do it manually. I ran the video through Audiate and said take out Ums. It remove, I kid you not, 980 instances of UMH in a 2 hour video. That would have take me days manually. It also can generate AI scripts and well as create a AI voice track. I have not used those last two since a I am a control freak about my scripts and find AI voices creepy. Even the 'good' ones seem off to me so I don't use them.
The new Forms feature in Lists can make gathering data much easier, especially since it eliminates the need for Power Automate. However, if you have more complicated requirements, such as branching, that will still be done in the native Forms application.
So if the answer field is set to the default short answer which only allows 255 characters, you won't get the enter key to work. But if the form is set to long answer, which allows up to 10k characters you can use the enter key.

I was really hoping they would make some much needed technical updates but instead they are focused on other stuff. For example, Camtasia _still_ doesn't support AV1 (encode or decode). It outputs embedded audio in old-school 44.1kHz instead of the industry standard of 48kHz for HD videos. The interface is just too dumbed down for anyone that is even slightly technical. I get that other tools are _too_ technical, but at least give me a few options hidden behind an advanced tab or something. If you don't care about the tech specs and just want something super simple to push content to RU-vid - and it's been a few years since your last update - then it might be worth it.
Jason, thanks for sharing. I don't know a lot about audio so your perspective is very interesting. Especially given how much they charge for Audiate that is supposed to improve the audio. I tried Audiate and it was wasted on me.
Thanks for this informative video. I added my client's email as the shared mailbox, but why I can't create any rules for my client's inbox, what permission level should he choose, for me to create rules?
I had to look this one up in the Microsoft documentation, and it looks like you need at a minimum the editor permission level. Any higher level will also work.
@@HeatherMajors Thanks, but he said that he already gave me full access. I created some rules yesterday, why doesn't it apply to the shared mailbox? It only works on my primary email.
@@QuennieRoseCataylo I read that there was an exchange issue yesterday. That may be the problem. It could also be something your IT needs to investigate as not receiving email is usually an outage or a serious bug.

Thanks for the video. I'm still using 2023, my biggest complaint is that if you get a new license for a new version for whatever reason (for me work pays for it) you lose the previous years assets. For example been using it since 2021 but everything in the 2021 Camtasia library is now not available. I don't understand why they get rid of some things. Anyhow, thanks again for the video.
Hi, if you have access to the old versions the trick I learned is to export the library and the reimport it into the new version as an additional library. In 2020 I did not realize that but in 2021 I figured it out so now have my 2021, 2022, and now the current 2023 libraries.
