Real estate is timing, location, and the current local economy. I watched people buy condos during a boom period and then have to walk away from them in a few years. Houses as well. It can work both ways, of course. You can buy a house that doubles in price in a few years. But there is always a correction. I wouldn't buy now for anything. Best to rent in most markets.
