Yeah. I was surprised at this one. Husband and wife must be the priority. Number one priority relationship. I actually just made this clear to my wife when I saw her boss mom starting to seek control. My parents raised me with this concept and I've passed it along to my own kids. She's right but for the wrong reasons. Women understand each other and therefore hate each other because they can see through one another's BS. If your wife feels disrespected over something that is pretty frivolous, that says more about her than your mother tbh. Plus, women initiate 75% of divorces on average and 90% if she's college educated. So her claiming your wife will be there to the end when 51% of marriages end in divorce is horse shit. I will say that if the MIL is being disrespectful and out of her bounds beyond something miniscule then yes, cut her off. But, with the amount of women out there who feel disrespected over trivial nonsense, I can't take her seriously and any man getting married in today's day and age to modern kaweens is pretty foolish

It really annoyed me the way that Ben Stiller's fiance Pam in the movie sat by silently and let her insane father torment and terrorize Ben Stiller. It was only after things completely went to shit that she finally spoke up. I hear ya about the divorce statistics. That is very true. Lots of screwed up Mother in maws out there. Thankfully my Wife stood up to her mom because she was a terrible mother. She trued to break my wife and I up before we got married because she wanted her Daughter to marry some punk creeper that was 23 years old when my wife was 13. I think her mom had the hots for the guy to be honest. The whole family Dynamic was really weird over the years and we had to keep family in check to protect our kids from them at times. Ling story short-my Wife recently passed from cancer and my Mother in law is pretty grateful now because her health is getting rough and I’m the only person she can rely on. I go out of my way to help her just because she has nobody other than her codependent relationship with my wife psycho younger sister.
