Some HINT here: I TESTED, and it is VERY IMPORTANT to color the line fill well on the sketch, ZOOM helps a lot, - IF you ONLY do PARTS of the sketch, the DOMINANT COLOR, color everything else, after RENDERING, it is BEST to give it time and COLOR whit precision (COLOR EVERYTHING) and you save a lot of time before rendering the sketch... /// McRoman ... Hey, thank you. It doesn't has a name as an overall, it's a custom digital painting path and many are possible. I just thought showing this path had good merits for education purpose as it starts small and without big effort with the thumbnail, and involve a lot of planning. Then, the more technical rendering happens more toward the end.
I'm Bangladeshi but I speak British English and can also speak Français. So as a non-native English speaker, I would like to say your English is great and it's natural. Honestly, I like this kind of accent. I'm a polyglot, so I myself sometimes mix up various accents by mistake, but it feels fun. So I think, you don't have to be sorry about your pronunciation. 😃
bro david , can you show me how to make animated GIF extension with transparent background in krita? , I tried many times but failed or krita is not compatible. btw I use krita 5.2.5 and finally I made the GIF with the help of GIMP.
Hey, Gif is a very specific format, with indexed 256 channels (pure alpha can be one of them as far as I remember, but not half transparent pixels). Krita doesn't support this color space (256 indexed) so, it's not possible to author such a format from Krita directly. The Gif export for the video recorder is an exception; it auto handle the conversion (but the snapshot of the canvas are all non alpha , in any cases...). Yes, Gimp is a the right tool for such a format.
Hey, I have nothing as a measurement tool to check how many nits or candela/m² the brightness really has. We'll have to trust the specification given by Xppen on this one.

Just one question. I am working on a tablet with no possibility for shift+... If there is some other options for tablet users only, this would be nice to also here in the videos. Thx!

For enlarging the diameter of the liquify tool, there is only Shift+drag ; I think another possibility is to just alter the size of the brush on the top toolbar (but I'll have to check it). In any case, it's a solid usability bug and I really hope this part of Krita will receive some love soon.
Hey, the video is 8 years old, and Krita evolved too much to find back the exact preset. But if you want to recreate the brush preset, it's possible: Take the y) Texture Wood Fiber brush (a default brush), and then reproduce the angle lock as in the screenshot at 00:24 , have fun!

Just tried it out, so yeah for people wondering why all the picture is one colour, just add more colours input (and add one for the background). The tool seems to work really fine with me ! Thank you for the tutorial (Merci beaucoup ;) )

Hey thank you! I have a XPPen right now and since december; the last one I reviewed on my channel if you want to know the exact name model. It's a good one. For a video 'over my shoulder' that's a good idea. I posted recently a 1h realtime video a bit in this spirit, but maybe one with also a view from time to time on the hand and keyboard shortcut could help. It's a challenge to film this, but I'll try to think about how possible it is to do.
The configs you have on your website also work very nicely on arch btw! I'm so glad I found such a thorough documentation on how to make this tablet work nicely on Linux. Very nice that you can just make it get recognized as a wacom device, wouldn't have thought of that. KDE Tablet Settings didn't work on this one, but your scripts sure did, even the pen calibration is *chefs kiss* Also glad this method works as a startup script since it's device ID bound. The XP Pen tablet devices only show up when the pointer has been on the screen which is annoying when trying to use xrandr shebangs for startup. Only one thing you could add: When you have Nvidia you might need to Call your Output device differently in the script, xwacom recognizes them all as HEAD-0, HEAD-1, etc... I'm glad this exists because sometimes i have to go back to X11 since wayland is kinda on-off-ish with Krita. Sometimes it works nice, then something breaks after an update... Also advanced generic Tablet features like calibration are done but will only come in KDE 6.2, KDE being the only DE that seems to have it on the radar.

i would like to make comics by own :D you are great! but I draw on paper ;/ And Im not good as well with enviroments. Where can i publish my own story later without dont worries about stolen my art?
Thanks! Drawing on paper is great, and no worry for your skill on environment; you can storytell so many things even with simple backgrounds. For publishing without getting art stolen; you can't (or I don't know any method to protect the art; I think it is technically impossible once a website displays it on a screen anyway). The best protection is probably to post it on a social media where you have the timestamp of when you posted it as a proof you are the original poster and author. Something your art thief can't claim or simulate.

I'm a beginner and I've been casually using Krita for a bit but more or less got the basics, so I wasn't sure if it was gonna be worth it to watch such a long tutorial, but this was full of great advice and points about the workflow and interface it's great to be aware of, such as the keyboard shortcuts! Thank you! 45:06 This frame caught my attention, the blurry liquified look makes it look like seeing through a rainy window, which fits with the colors and mood of the piece.
I like your tutorial , do you sketch your then import it to krita ? plus i wanted to know how do you make book covers for your comic is there a tutorial for that?
Hey, I'll check how *.kwl (Krita windowlayouts) files can be shared. Maybe they support bundle, but as far as I remember they are pretty dependednt of the resolution of the screen; so I'm not sure how the default are designed.
