This is just a thanks for doing what you do at such a high level. You are available; every day; you are informed, intelligent and you deliver your information professionally and with care. “Nuf said”! UDAMAN!
Got to say, you are real. Thanks for your time, insight, and candor! The fact we are in discussions with duke, Kentucky and Carolina blue is amazing! May not land these guys, but we are in the discussion, and yes, Cayden may not be his brother in some regard, but it's awesome to be in the discussion. Thanks for sharing the knowledge ..... Go Illini!!
Wish all the best for fears, everyone needs to do what is right for them. Brad, Orlando and coaching team did an outstanding job, even if jj goes to Kentucky or elsewhere.
Wow Tim, no one’s ever asked me that, that’s so kind of you! Unfortunately Locked On doesn’t enable that on my videos. If you still would like to support the program I can provide the following links but please by no means feel any obligation to do so! PayPal: www.paypal.me/SunnyV1919 Venmo: Sunny-Verma Thank you again, I’ve never received a super chat before & just the idea of someone offering me one is a great start to the weekend!
I don’t think the Big Ten would ever push out a founding member. But at some point, I think all the conferences are going to have a shake down and you might see the elites leave their respective conferences & create that mythical super conference. At that point I wonder what would be Illinois’ role in the future. Appreciate your feedback!
I’m confident we’ll always be in the B1G. I’m more worried if the bigger sports institutions break off from the Big Ten & modern day conferences no longer matter.
Well, Brad Underwood can be excused because college basketball is a "win-now" game, unfortunately. Development doesn't matter because players aren't committed for 3 - 4 yrs
IF he can speed up his release without losing his accuracy and judgement, he will be outstanding. If he doesn't, he will still be fine. This is based on my belief that the O-line is going to be improved overall. What if Josh McCray is 100% recovered? Then, we have three serious runningbacks, 1-3 servicable to great receivers, and a true starter QB with a possible #2 who is ready. The O-LINE should be freaking better. Defense is the question.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills seeing Luke at 15th or 17th best QB in the conference. This has to be folks not paying attention and making assumptions.
A lot to respond to .. I think you are great at what you do, and it’s why I watch you consistently, but today you are a little “lost in the weeds”. I mean this as a little bit as an opportunity to teach, here. You are over analyzing “Booty Ball”. It is semantics. It’s nothing more than a half court offensive weapon. It simplifies a half court offense that can be used during a game when it makes sense to, or versus a team that slows things down effectively and more of an emphasis can be put on half court versus a team that defends particularly well against fast break offenses. The run/gun style that this years team will primarily use with KJ and Kylan Boswell will be very effective against most teams we face. Sunny … KJ and Boswell will be making most of the decisions offensively with Will Riley, as well. You’re overly concerned about this, is all. Domask had the skills to utilize this type of attack, and you will see that Humrichous does so at even a “higher” level (better shot; bigger by three inches and weight) AND passing out of this “Booty Ball” as it’s called now can only happen if you are SMART, which Ben is. Relax. That the Illini has a player that “fills this bill” is more reason to get excited. We CAN attack half court defenses with this versus super designed plays; half court offense overhauls, etc. The one thing that I know you enjoy about Brad Underwood is his flexibility and simplicity. He can adjust and attack this years opponents by keeping things simple for his players so they can be free to just play and have fun at a highly effective level. He can now attack defenses in even more ways than last year. Trust me on this. I have a deep background in understanding basketball offenses having played, coached and observing for greater than 60 years now. Kudos to you and your show. It’s the best thing out there. Keep up the great work!
This is hilarious. As a Ws fan, I didn’t even know he has a beef with Illinois except that he didn’t get playing time and transferred. I guarantee Pod isn’t sweating his time at Illinois now. Bigger fish to fry.
From what many people who I respect for their basketball knowledge and analysis have said, Jasper is actually a slight upgrade in talent and skill level and size from Fears. Hope IL lands him.
So did Jeremiah Fears leave because he felt he was being recruited over, or did BU pursue Johnson because he was getting vibes from Fears that he was wavering in his commitment to 2025?
I also watched the Locked in Wolves broadcast you did. As a Wolves fa, I’m very excited! I was also surprised when Shannon was talked about as a… possible… rotation guy. Going into game 1, I was worried Shannon might be in Dillingham’s shadow, but it was definitely the other way around. I had not followed Shannon’s career and I was surprised how big he looked. It is a crowded roster and Shannon’s main competitor for minutes will be from Joe Ingles. I hope the reserves get minutes, keep the team rested and prepare themselves to be part of a playoff run. Thank you for your podcast.
i disagree i think he will be asked for buckets. the thing that killed the wolves was points off the bench. that was what he was drafted to do. him and dillingham. both will be on the rotation helping the second core of guys. it wasnt uncommon to see the entire 2nd squad minus reed with less than 5 points
Minnesota fan here, TJ was my pipedream going into the draft. Absolutely floored we actually got him, and can't wait to watch him absolutely tear it up with the rest of our boys!
this draft class for the wolves vaguely reminds me of 2020 draft when we got Ant-man & Jaden Mcdaniels. I believe both dillingham & TSJ are going to be great additions to this team.
I like Matas and his high potential, but draft picks in this draft were super cheap. I think Minnesota is a better for for TSJ reaching his potential in the NBA.
@@Blahman899 I'm really happy he's joining our team, I strongly believe we're going to win the championship this next year and he's going to be a big part of it
Sorry bud but ben is right. He’ll play but it’ll be sparingly mostly do to logistics. The wolves starting lineup is set. Naz was sixth man of the year and naw is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Dillingham is the only backup point guard so he’ll play. He and joe ingles will battle for ninth man but given how is the only vet on the bench I imagine he’ll get the nod. Again it’s got nothing to do with TSJ (he’s great) but this is what happens on a conference finals team that brings everyone back. Next year tho naw will almost definitely gone and TSJ could be way higher in the pecking order but without injury I don’t see it this year.
@@LockedOnIllini oh not smarter just more aware of what Tim Connelly has been saying. It could absolutely change if naw has a bad shooting year and TSJ comes out blazing. Lord know I’m hoping for it cause that prob means a finals appearance soon.
They better put some respect on my boys name and get used to seeing this often.💯🔥🔥 Terrance is right where he should be. The timberwolves were the perfect fit for his skillset. Fantastic Debut. Looking forward to seeing many more highlight reels of that left hand with authority at the rim.💪
As a wolves fan who is more hyped on this guy than any of my friends, I think TSJ is going to end the year as the 7th or 8th man off the wolves bench. If he can provide more consistent offense than NAW I think he will easily take SloMo's minutes. I could even see him being the 2nd biggest contributor off the bench behind Naz if all things worked out
He will be 8th or 9th in minutes on the Wolves. Starters set. 6th man Naz Reid. 7th spot is NAW. TSJ's main competition for minutes will be Joe Ingles, and they will both be vying for the minutes Kyle Anderson got last year. TSJ clearly is way more ready than Minott and Miller. Hopefully TSJ plays well enough and progresses, to be in the playoff rotation.
I expect Jingles to take the early season minutes but to be fazed out except for very specific situations pretty quickly. If you ask Magic fans he was great to start the season as a veteran presence off the bench but even in that limited role he burned out pretty quickly, and even when he was good in that role he was bad defensively He will always be a threat from 3 tho. By Christmas TSJ will be getting 18-24 minutes a game at the 2 and 3.
@@jaimeb1281 I agree that Shannon also has tons of defensive potential but NAW is gonna play off the bench because he's exceedingly important to what the Wolves do without destroying Ant in the process and Finch trusts him. Shannon will take SloMos minutes except he won't be a compete nothing on the offensive end. They are two different players who play very different games. It's not at all one or the other. They will both be valuable. Next year however the Wolves won't be able to afford NAW and TJ will become the primary wing backup
