8-10lbs, not good!! You missbthe point, it 1 shot 1 kill. Best weapon after the L.E .303m just ssying. Shoot the original and then make you judgements. She at heavy as the original was a tad over 12l-13lbs. Right Arm!!
I assume after Frank died the QC of POF seems to be all over the place, which is a shame since they have very innovative and unique guns that are pretty damn quality.
I have had an M4 for over 10 years and absolutely love it. I have the same experience as you in that the recoil Is fairly light for a shotgun. Mine is an Eotech all this time, but want to change to an ACOG when funds are available. I don't like having to push a small button in a possible home defense situation. Otherwise the Eotech is perfect! When mine is clean it will shoot any ammo, light or heavy, except 3 1/2 inch shells or mini-shells. But birdshot, buckshot and slugs all thunder out of the barrel without hesitation. I alternate between this shotgun and an AR for defense duties or close range outdoors. It was very expensive, but I have never regretted the decision to buy the best! Oh, yeah! My light is an Inforce which is excellent. I have the GG&G charging handle, mag tube extension a sling and a shell holder. Mine stays loaded with Hirnady Critical Defense 00 buck for two shells followed by a slug and then more buckshot. I also have a SureFire fire grip which really helps to control the shotgun, but makes cleaning a PIA.
That’s precisely what I did once I noticed the primers were being popped. And guess what, I investigated it and fixed it if you cared to look at other videos I have! Appreciate your concern!
No doubt they have their issues, it’s very apparent and undeniable, but I’d like an actual technical answer of what’s wrong with it rather than just saying the manufacturer sucks. Nothing personal at all. When you take your car to get serviced due to an issue you can’t determine, do you want your mechanic to say, “yup it’s a dodge.. that’s the problem”
Absolutely fantastic video! I had this exact same journey last year my wife bought me the diamondback DB10 for Valentine's Day and the issue didn't arise until I purchased 175gr freedom munitions and it was blowing primers and had the same ejector dents! I went with the Griffin armament extra power spring and the same heavy buffer from Midway! I differed in the cam pin and went with the POF roller cam pin. I haven't purchased an adjustable gas block yet but I'm fixing to rebarrel mine also with a stainless steel barrel and im going to get an adjustable gas block then. I really enjoy the FGMM 168 and 175gr . It's a considerable difference in recoil impulse from the stock setup with the heavier grain weight rounds were just a sharp and violent impulse i was worried and then all the issues arose but smooth as silk now.
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems It would have been nice to have All the information comprised in a single place like this. Im sure it's going to help a lot of people that find it
@@hopewilliams6705 I wish I didn’t have to go through all the ammo and testing in the first place just due to it being expensive and time consuming, but it worked out and seems like it’s helped a bunch of people!
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems I can understand that!!! It was quite expensive for me also I didn't quite test as much as you but wasn't far from it. But I worked as a mechanic for years and through these problems I've had had taught me that I can fix almost anything.
I think you were selling yourself short on that 200 yard target. That's a 100 yard sight in target so each of those squares is 1/2 MOA at 200. Pretty sure that Norma group is 1/2 MOA and the Win group is about 1 MOA if I'm looking at the target correctly.
Incorrect. This is a 100 yard target, with the instructions being visible at the top of the target: Each square measures 1 inch. This testing was performed at 100 yards, not 200 yards. Additionally each group was later measured with calipers to confirm the size
@@marcosablan is look into the 13.7” version of the rogue if I were you. Shorter barrel, but comes with a keymo compatible suppressor ready muzzle brake, and already comes with the dictator gas block installed. But honestly I might wait a bit longer, cuz at a local trade show, POF was showing off a version of the rogue with a carbon fiber barrel.. very interesting and SUPER lightweight! I don’t have any release info but I was definitely intrigued!
I have had my Rogue almost a year. I had a few reliability until I got the Dictator gas block. Since that time some ammo has to be adjusted on the block to function correctly. Once adjusted it has been 100 per cent! My accuracy is also in the 2’s, which is fine for me. Hornady Black is relatively cheap and is accurate and has good results in gel. I am very happy to have this lightweight .308. If I have to Bugout because I have no choice, this is the one coming with me!
I’ve experienced it on standard adjustable gas blocks that are only adjusted with an Allen wrench. You just have to make sure that after you shoot each time to spray the gas block port with firearm cleaning solvent and adjust it back and forth (remembering what setting you were on). Some people put anti-seize on the adjustment screw and it seems to work a bit better but the carbon still builds up if you’re not spraying it with solvent after each outing. The good news with the POF dictator is that the adjustment screw is much bigger and easier to adjust with the tool they give you which gives you significantly more leverage that can easily break through carbon. I haven’t had this one seize yet
The people that ONLY worry or Talk about HIGH END... or EXPENSIVE Product.... is JUST THAT... a HYPOCRITE that is NO MORE THAN A COWARD!!!!!!! when SHTF & Times GET TUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NUFF SAID!!!!!!
I don’t remember them being a specific height, just that they were called suppressor height sights. Sorry wish I could give better info but this is how the gun was issued to me already pieced together!
I have a 320 xcarry in coyote , it is my duty weapon we are at 4500+ rounds with no issues at all I had to throw a gas pedal on it along with a tlr1hl and man this thing is a laser beam. Anyways great video thanks for the info
Thank you so much for your two videos on this. I just got a PSA Sabre ar10 18inch in 308. First time at the range using aac 150grain ammo i got through 40 rounds then had light strikes then it wouldnt work at all around 50 rounds. I took apart the bcg with the help of someone at the range and it dumped 5 primer pieces out the bcg. My retainer pin was a U shape and the firing pin was stuck really good into the bcg. It looks like even their sabre line have the exact same issues. Again thank you so much my man. This is my first rifle and i couldnt get through 3 mags.
Think he was murdered in a car accident so he wouldnt take any government contracts, I was told it was a heart attack then heard it was a car accident.
I own this gun. Have about 2,500 rounds thru it. I only shoot CCI MiniMags 40 GR. No malfunctions. TandemKross spring and trigger. Holosun 507C. It has been great. MiniMags are consistent and generate good pressures.
I agree with that, not saying it isn’t effective, I’ve seen plenty of damage done with .22lr. The issue is and always will be the reliability of the round itself in the function of the firearm.
I've been running LAX 147 FMJ on my SFAR set on #3 gas setting. I had a failure to feed and two failures to eject during the first 40 rounds. I lubed up the BCG and its run flawlessly. I couldn't specifically say LAX Ammo is good or bad because its all I've shot through this rifle. I did have a primer pop out running LAX re-man 147gr. Glad you took the time to figure out what was going on with your PA 10 and shared your solutions with us. I have been looking at the PA 10 with a 20-inch barrel and the more info I get the easier it'll be to make a decision. I'm not even close to being a competition shooter and don't want to be. 1 to 2 inches of my point of aim is fine for me.
No problem. The gun will average out as a 2MOA gun out of the factory, which is fine for most people. Just understand that each experience is different. My biggest critique of PSA is their quality control is hit or miss. Some guns come out good and others not so much. I would say that it’s still a good gun to buy if you want to build off of it and make it your own. Otherwise in my opinion it’s worth it to save up for a higher quality AR10. Not trying to dissuade you, as long as you have realistic expectations it can serve you well! Cheers!
I have this pistol. Hate me if you want but I carry this as my daily. I went with some Winchester 36gr copper plated hollow point. It wasn’t a fan of this for the first 150rds. What it did love was CCI mini-mag Varmint 36grCPHP and I’ve ran 250rds with no light primer strike fTF or FTE. Try that see if it likes. You are very correct each pistol likes its own ammo. Great video. Have fun with it. Love mine!
No hate here! If it works for you and you’re confident in carrying it every day, that’s awesome! Thanks for the info! It is a neat little pistol and shooting it is a lot of fun! Thanks for watching!
Recoil is like any other AR10, maybe a bit snappier due to its lightweight. Effective range is like any other 308 with a 16 inch barrel. Depends on what you want to do with it, and I can’t answer that
I've been looking at the PSA PA-10 20-inch chrome barrel. Im more or less looking for a backup to my Ruger SFAR, but with a longer barrel. Thank you for the video
11:32 That ammo weave pattern might have a little to do with the reliability issue. I think TXs really prefer it if the rounds alternate which side they're angled. You can reliably do it by loading a round then letting the follower rise all the way up. Bit annoying that you have to keep it in mind, but pretty easy to get in the habit of doing.
Funny enough I think I was looking for the same holster a month or so ago and I didn’t see it either. That and a holster for a S&W MP2.0 Competitor. Think that holster also got nuked. Wierd huh?
I have blown primer problems with freedoms munitions. All other ammo I have used does not have this problem. Fun fact: many AR10s do not feed soft point ammo well… ask me how I know… Rifle: DD5V4, 18” barrel, 6.5cm Replaced gas block with a strike industries adjustable gas block.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Yup the freedom munitions stuff was dropped the moment I filmed this video way back. Not good ammo. Never had an issue with my rifle feeding softpoints. Norma 150gr whitetail loads were my hog killing round out of PA10 and it worked perfectly. Issue was fixed by increasing buffer weight, stiffer buffer spring and fine tuning the adjustable gas block to control timing. No more blown primers in any ammo I have tried, including freedom! Thanks for watching!
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems that gives me hope. After watching your most recent video, I ordered a heavier buffer spring. Hopefully it fixes it for mine as well
@@michaelgoodrich5309hope it helps! AR10/LR308 rifles are very timing sensitive. Even with adjustable gas blocks many times they’re still cycling too fast. The bolt is unlocking and attempting extraction prior to pressure depressurizing to proper levels, so the case is still swollen against the chamber walls. It’s still extracting while it’s under that pressure so the pressure has to go somewhere and it’s usually out the primer end. Once I understood that, everything made sense. Heavier buffer and stiffer spring. Charging the rifle will be a bit more difficult, but in tandem with the adjustable gas block you should see results! Good luck!
Great review! It looks like the Taurus TX22 Competition performs well with standard muzzle velocity (between 1082 to 1200) 40-grain ammo. Have you noticed any specific ammo brands or types that work best with this firearm for optimal performance?
Thanks for checking it out! So far it functions the best with Norma Tac-22 and even the Aguila Super Extra 40gr. Both of those loads shoot accurately and reliably. I honestly need to test more loads but so far those two have been really good
Thanks for the review. Head up, you are using the term MOA when you should be saying inches. MOA is a measure of angle. 2 inches at 25 yards is 8 MOA. 2.5 inches at 25 yards is 10 MOA. Not a big deal, but for your consideration.
Yup, I know the correct way to use the term. Unfortunately I realized it as soon as I posted the video and just my luck wasn’t able to edit the original🙄 But I appreciate the reminder, and thanks for watching!
@@SabertoothDefenseSystems I kinda figured, as you've used it correctly, in other videos. Still on the fence about the pistol. I've seen too many videos about folks having too many issues. A $400 dice roll isn't in the budget, right now.
@@aristotelian9693 Happens to the best of us haha! I hear ya, and I totally understand. The reviews are all over the place with this one. I own the Taurus TX22 as well, which the majority of the reviews have been pretty positive. Mine runs great but the mags on that thing are iffy. I really like the P322 but again I understand the aversion. Sig unfortunately has had way too many issues with QC in the past 10 years which is really unfortunate.
remington subsonic copper plated ammo refused to chamber in my p322 I tried fiocci and cci lead subsonic rounds and they chambered perfectly, but didn't always fire.
It was overpressure caused by improper timing. Bolt was unlocking and extracting round prior to chamber pressures dropping to safe levels. Fixed with heavier buffer in tandem with tuning the adjustable gas block. After doing so, no more overpressure signs such as case head swipe, burrs, flat primers, blown primers. So overpressure signs on brass caused by over gassing and improper timing
Found this video just now because my s&w mp10 308 win completely blew out the primer and swallowed out the case so bad had to use a brass punch to remove spent shell
Says who? 9 times out of 10 drop testing goes into R&D at a manufacturer. In competitions where this would be utilized you’re going to drop your magazines while moving between targets and stages. That’s the way it goes in IDPA and USPSA. Besides these magazines issues were present right at initial testing before the mags were subjected to dropping.. like every other magazine was designed to do
