Maybe I am insane but this seems like an easy franchise to revive if done properly. Like you literally could have extremely low budget animation and give a reasonably excuse that your choosing to it that way in the spirit of the original show.

Till this day I still can’t get myself to finish a single episode of season 8. Could’ve been the greatest show ever. I hope the book gets finish and hopefully they remake that sad excuse of season 8 is.

my idea is bob will save megabyte into something similar to hexadecimal when bob change her into former program...its possible megabyte was not always virus, but system kernel that got corrupted during system purge by users that corrupted kernel escape from it due to bob, you know computer OS do have feelings but with users abusing systems ...its real reason megabyte never like users and want to blame on other systems that feel he was left behind to die

6 years too late but I think you're wrong about Megatron's actions in season 1 making no sense in comparison to season 2. His ultimate goal was to bring about Predacon Conquest. He landed on the "wrong" planet, but the planet was "rich with energon" ... meaning he had a clear cut less risky way to seize power. All he had to do was kill the faction of bots that oppose him. So, a lot of season 1 was centered around the Predacons trying to kill the Maximals so they could get their hands on the planets Energon. Season 2 Megatron upon realizing that he did land on the correct planet, but way earlier than he expected, is provided with another avenue of accomplishing his goals (Predacon rule). It is a desperation move which he himself admits before shooting Optimus Prime. Several characters allude to Megatron as having an "insane ambition". The insane ambition was for him to rule over all Transformers and conquer the Universe. I don't think he ever deviated from that ambition.
For the Silverbolt plot point I have the personal head canon that his original personality wasn't conscious but after being brought to the surface he wasn't pushed back down and was forced to watch everything he did as jetstorm.
11:00 I’m surprised you didn’t mention this, but Beast Wars was greatly influenced by the G2 comic written by Simon Furman. So the original idea for Tarantulas wasn’t that he was directly descended from Unicron (Megatron was essentially calling him a son of a bitch), but that he was descended from the G2 Decepticons who founded the Cybertronian Empire (Jhiaxus and the like). They were on Cybertron but left shortly after Megatron disappeared and founded their empire. An alliance between the Autobots and the Decepticons under their command brought an end to their empire. So blowing up the Ark with Autobots and Decepticons alike made perfect sense for Tarantulas, since he wasn’t descended from those particular Decepticons, and killing them all would’ve brought back the Cybertronian Empire.
After hearing second hand what a mess season 8 was, I've refused to watch it. Yet that hasn't saved me from the anguish of it all. I hope GRRM won't break our hearts too😢. But atleast when he does, you can see the logic behind it. But this two? God, i wonder what they were thinking. And to hear, many actors in the set had protested this ' awful' crime, i feel like they should be jailed.

I dsagree that it ended on a cliffhanger, it was pretty much a resolved story. Yeah the Beast Planet was teleported elewhere and RIP other planets, but the main cast was safe.
I remember watching this show and recognizing VAs from the ruby spears megaman cartoon, especially Jim Byrnes, who played Dr Light, a complete 180 character-wise from Inferno while sounding the exact same, which i found quite funny.
they had a Star Wars trilogy lined up and all that was going around their brains was the Star Wars theme. and then when they screwed up and rushed the greatest show on TV the Star Wars show was cancelled. i wish we could go back in time and give someone else the reins, its clear that once these two got past the books they had no idea what to do.

I have rewatched your Beast machine retrospective three times. Beast machine is one of my favourite series. I know it gets a lot of hate but I really enjoyed the world they built and the character motivations. Thanks for the rewatch
