Not the sharpest crayon in the box, but I believe you have to adjust the tab to the speed you normally like to cruise in, or have the torque problem in, not going to be all that efficient at all speed ranges, sure there are alot more variables here also !

Bro, this is probably my problem! I was looking at that exact part today on my boat… scratching head like what’s this thing…. ? My problem is my engine starts up and run for about 30 seconds then revs up and dies. I have a electric choke that seems to get power off and on, making the choke not work right. Damn, I will take any extra advice, or whatever info you can email would be cool too! Rock on!

Thanks for the video! I hooked up a new battery backwards and the 90 amp fuse was blown no power to anything.. Replaced it and everything back to normal :) My boat is a 2001 Bayliner Capri 1950

Everything you say in this video and what I read in the comments is my situation. I just pulled out the fuse after hours of grief and ordered a new one. If this is the solution I cannot thank you enough. However, pulling this fuse out of my boat was a HUGE pain in the neck. It is VERY hard to get to.

sounds good so far let me try it on my 07 Bayliner and ill let you know how it works... The problem that I am having is that it is easy to turn to either direction but hard to turn back straight again, but the wheel turns very easy when the boat is not moving.

I've been a marine tech for 35 years and actually most of us are really good guys. Working very hard at a very physical job. Not only is it unethical and wrong, but most of us are so busy that breaking something purposely on someones boat just doesn't make sense. One of the important jobs of that fuse is to protect the electrical system from someone hooking up the battery backwards. I have had a couple of customers over the years who wanted to get a jump on the season and while hooking up their own battery, accidentally (and for a very short time) hooked it up backwards. They fessed up, we laughed about it, and then we dropped a new one in for about $30

Totally differant but is there anything differant I need to do to a 2010 efi 4 stroke 90hp when changing the ecm to a 115hp ecm ? Also how do you first allow the new module adjust it's self ?

Thank you. 1/2 inch socket. Mine was turning hard left. Mine was set to the extreme opposite of what was needed. It was pulling left and tab was pointing right. I adjusted it to the far left direction, and made a world of difference. Thanks for the video💪 I appreciate it.

I have the same trim as your boat and I have a 1989 SeaRay. I am new at this boating lifestyle. The trim on my boat won't go up nor down since I parked it out of the marina. How do I get it to go up manually?

You talked about everything but the most important thing- trailer in your boat

"Trim tabs"--there are two of these mounted on the Transom, they adjust the inner and outer of the hull, or shyne angle. This tab is the "torque tab" and it compensates for the directional turn of the engine's torque. :-)

Take it off and throw it away...they are useless...you don't need them 👌💪

Only thing I learned here is that your drive has overheated like crazy from lack of oil or water mixed with oil. That's what all the white chalky look on your black outdrive is.
