Thanks for the video. Just got a 2000 1100 stx, been having issues due to sitting for years by previous owner and overheating emm has been the newest issue. Will appreciate any future videos as I learn the ski. Cleared emm lines and hoping I didn't fry it...worked for 30 minutes before dying and took it home. Can't wait to test it out again.
as long as u didnt run it for excessive periods of time without water u probably didnt fry it. dying could be caused by several issues but dying at idle isn't uncommon on 2 strokes(as long as it fires back up I wouldn't worry about it). feel free to subscribe...I post new videos as more stuff breaks on it. also got other lake related videos u may be interested in
Yep, been through 2 mechanics already. It has to be the computer, everything else is in perfect shape almost. I am at a loss, runs fine for about 20 minutes then it starts to hesitate and then completely shuts off..takes about 5 minutes and will start up again but it wont go above idle after that unless I wait an hour. No one around here knows the skis at all, or even have the dianostic hook up for that matter, including the kawasaki "dealer" we have...So strange....
almost identical symptoms that mine had before new computer was put in...you are more than likely right...the bad news is that its an expensive part...if u plan to keep the ski its worth the investment....trust me(the thing is hella fast)
I have the same ski and it will not fire up. after reading other comments i assume its the comport or fuel line. Any other suggestions would be helpful.
I have a 2002. Runs rough until the motor is under a load accelerating. It revs great pulls hard and run about 55-57mph. It’s no fun easing around riding slow. The motor is very choppy like a hotrod with a big cam. I get a check engine on the hose but not in the water. Could it be the EMM?
I just got a 2002 also, been wonder the same thing since mine doesn’t rev up all the way, sounds like it’s bogging down. Haven’t had it in the water yet though
back when I had to replace mine I could order direct from kawasaki AND during that time I merely sent them the serial numbers off the injectors so they could program it before shipping it out to me...
Hey I’m trying to fix one of these and I’m stumped.. I have good spark on the middle cylinder and inconsistent spark on the other two.. most of the time it’s not there I took apart the connector that goes to coil wires and unplugged the middle cylinder.. then of course had nothing on the middle cylinder but the other two had good spark. Maybe you or someone that watches this video has seen this problem I’m wondering if it could be related to the computer.. Spark plugs wires crank position sensor and coil’s all tested good Any help would be much appreciated
@@waylonmccrae3546 I did it ended up being the computer I sent the computer in to get fixed got it back reinstalled it now it runs perfect if you would like I can send you the phone number to the guy who I had to fix mine I believe it was $450..
@@OneLove7161 I had a feeling that's what it was , went thru every connection , tested coils , crank sensor etc. I would tap the box and get weak spark on all then just #2 then turn key off retry and nothing then cycle thru again and weak spark on #2 again , I found a donor box off of identical ski & gonna try it tomorrow , that info. for rebuilding those modules would be good to have .... thank you immensely !! 😉👍🏻
