@@snapgas9832 What are all the other avenues. Please list them. I had a Sime boiler before and it lasted 15 years. This Greenstar combi boiler 24i only lasted 11 years. I want a simple boiler and not the computerised ones, easy to access. What do you recommend that would last longer that 11 years.
Brilliant video thank you! Just a few questions: 1. Did you add inhibitor to the system after? 2. Were the other radiators left open or closed? 3. Did you drain the system completely or near enough?
I think I have a boiler with the same issue, set it going runs ok for a couple of minutes, cuts out, loads of water hammer. Leave it for 10 mins to cool down and it starts again ok. I'm thinking I take the casing off and see if it still trips out
I did this without a vac, bottom floor. Just to note i destroyed the area and my thumb as it cut so deep trying to stop the flow when taking the trv off, whole area was drenched with water and my blood, to date i don’t even know what made me attempt it 😭 never again!!!
that main combi at 6:40 E50 error code, have you been back to change DHW NTC or did you get it by cleaning out limescale on cabel whilst u were on site
I had the f83 on an open vented vaillant. F and e tank, cold feed was blocked where it tees into open vent. Bunged the tank, rather than full drain down and risk more air locks. Undone the compression tee and cleaned out with a screwdriver. Refitted, removed bungs , vented air valves in cylinder cupboard, reset boiler. Now works like a dream.
Those burner gaskets are crap, not fit for purpose. I've been to boilers that are no older than two years and those gaskets are leaking. It's got to the point it's now my first check.... nothing worse than changing one of those on a hot heat cell
Evidently I have a 'single pipe' sytem , and had a Vaillant Eco Pure installed about 18 months ago, and it's now showing F83 AND F23! Vaillant say it's the system, installer says I need to bleed all rads and try just turning the boiler off at the receiver and leave for 10 minutes, then turn on again?? Nothing's working. Would a 'power flush help?
Hi, I don’t think it will help, it’s to do with the flow and return temps back to the boiler on 2 sensors So yes vaillant are correct it’s a system issue unfortunately My advice to get by would be to get the boiler changed to a Worcester RI as they don’t have these sensors and that could work
The tundish looks dodgy as well. Looks like 15mm in and out, should be 22mm out per building regs and cylinder manufacturer (or 28mm if it's a long run). Also doesn't have 300mm vertical pipe below the tundish. If one of the relief valves decides to let go with a lot of flow, it will likely overflow inside the loft space. Edit: Or, if that's 22mm in and out, and a 22mm T&P valve, should be minimum 28mm out.
Best way to do it is use your grips to grip the bypass ass close to the manifold as possible big flathead inbetween grips and manifold twist and it will fly out
just got into your videos they are the jobs i get and really relate to in the real world chris. keep up the good work and look forward to the ones i aint seen yet!
Hi mate, I learnt as I went along, but also I used to buy old boilers from people and strip them down and rebuild them at home to get to know how they went together And once you have done 1 heat exchanger then they become a lot easier after that as you learn from mistakes or that you have taken too much stuff out that you didn’t need to
@@snapgas9832 I've repaired computers and built computers not much different I would imagine it's easier as a bigger component. I'm fed up with cowboys coming out and just telling you get a new boiler half my boiler is new after 11 years of repairs so why let all those new parts go to waste plus you can pick up a spares boiler or used one for £50-100 and need £10-20 worth of tools rather than spending £2500-£4000 on a boiler which will break down yearly.
Just been on holiday to Denmark last week and back to catching up. Scrolled down to your name to watch your videos first. Enjoy them. Keep up the good work. Missed you when you stopped. Just need people to be aware of your videos. Contents good. Part of a select few i would highly recommend. Some boys have made it youtube famous now and content is different or stopped doing videos. Thanks mate
