My Dad was in Vietnam. 67-68-71-72. I was born at Blanchfield Military Hospital Fort Campbell, KY, and I grew up in Clarksville, Tn. My Dad retired in 91 & I miss him dearly. He was not only my Father, but my friend. Lucinan Hamilton. Franklin, Tn.

At my job, I run into a lot of veterans wearing hats that let others know they served. I always stop them. Tell them I like their hats, to acknowledge that I realize who I’m dealing with. Then the first thing I do is thank them. Usually this catches them off guard and they become very grateful for the little gesture I’ve given them. Everyone should be attempting to give thanks to our veterans any way they can. I will do this until I die.

Why would you make a novice take point, he doesn't know what to look for, the sounds, the smells, anything. That's dishonorable in my opinion.

A story was relayed to me how the army didn't have the same mentally as the USMC during operation Enduring Freedom when they would get to a building. The Marines love a fire fight but will ensure they dont lose their men unnecessarily especially when they have a small number.

My father in law, a ranger in WW 2, only talked about it once to me. That's the day he advised me to carry a 45. He told we that when you shoot someone will a 45 they went down. Only time he ever mentioned it.

Thank u for ur service first off! But sir i gotta ask. U go in with no weapons at first? Come back out and just grab pistols with a clip or two. Come back out grab ammo. And a few grenades. COME BACK OUT. then decide to bring proper weapons. ONLY Question i have IS WHY
@matthewk6731
@matthewk6731 Час назад
No. They always went in with at least a pistol. Too hard to swing a rifle around. Some tunnels were quite extensive with barracks other necessary rooms. Tourists can crawl through the tunnels now, but they enlarged them because most westerners are bigger than the Vietnamese.
