Good stuff...! 6/7/24 Brand new 2023 v85tt Travel. Got a heck of a deal. Just LOVING IT! Think I will subscribe, I get too many notifications as is... Appreciate your channel. C Roby.
As a long time Guzzi fan, yes, they are addictive. Wish they hadn’t lightened the flywheel on the later models, but I guess that’s just what the market wants. Haven’t tried a 270 crank in a parallel twin yet, but I can see why did they - just trying to make the power come through like a Guzzi 😄 (sorry Mr Turner, but you’ve been out evolved!)
Thank you for telling that story. I love Italian bikes and WWI aviation so I'm pretty much your target audience. It sounds so much like the cavalino rampante origin story I bet Enzo Ferrari nicked the idea from Sr. Guzzi.
isn't ethonal tough on plastics? the early plastics, connectors, lines and tanks included, by paiggio, ducati, guzzi had problems with distortion or delamination.
The manual simply says that fuel vapors may cause damage to objects... Objects like your cell phone. In no way is the manual even remotely suggesting that your phone could ignite the vapors. But the vapors do indeed have solvent properties (hold Styrofoam above a jar of gasoline without touching the gas and you'll see that the vapors alone begin to damage the Styrofoam).
So.. It's just warning you that fuel vapors can damage and weaken your phone (like acetone vapors do). If attorneys wanted the message in the manual, it's because they want to avoid law suits from people melting their phones and tablets, etc. Lol
This MIA module is common to a number of bikes from the Piaggio stable, hopefully someone (ideally Piaggio) comes up with a replacement using Apple Carplay and Android Auto, this module just doesn't work me.
Subbed Sir . Thanks from the Uk . That horrible bio fuel causes all sorts of trouble , with our older bikes in particular , which need new fuel lines and tap/filters made to take the bio stuff to be fitted . A friend with a Commando buys non bio fuel at a station near to a race track ( Castle Combe , outside of Bristol ) , but that is a quite a few miles out of his usual routes . There he can get Avgas , I think that is over 95 octane , but the bio stuff , even the highest octane , causes blockages if it is not used up in two weeks , whatever fuel 'stabilizer' is used . This guy is a Rolls Royce engineer , so no fool and his word can be trusted . Fog lights and driving lamps are controlled differently , I mean the fogs light with dip and driving lamps light with main beam . Is your Guzzi wired for both ? Are you allowed in the States to have both fog and driving lamps fitted ; I am fairly sure in the UK we are only allowed one or the other , but I repeat ... is the Guzzi set up to take either ? I ask as I am lusting after the TT Travel ! Cheers .
Ive taken my 125cc maxi scooter offroad. It doesn’t like it but it gets me there. Even carrying my wife on the back to get to some remote beaches where I live. I laugh seeing reviewers saying the 19” tyres are not enough for offroad use. Another funny thing is hearing them complain about power. I can’t wait till I have enough saved up for the v85tt. Its going to be so much better than my scooter on the roads we have.
Head and eyes..power to the rear brake.. (Motor Instructor, 12 years, Central Florida Sheriffs Office, retired 1/21) first MG V85TT purchased yesterday…a real treat after being on POS Police RoadKings for 12 years….
I'm really not sure if mine has self cancelling signals, it's a 23 plate with led turn signals and no matter what I seem to do they don't self cancel 🤔
This fellows impressions riding the TT mirrors my experience. One thing I would add, my area has a fair amount of twistiness. The tt is a very pleasant ride with a very neutral handling characteristic on pavement. Focus on most ride vids seem to be on its off-road abilities.... For me its just like an SUV vs say a Jeep (The off-road styled factory rigs). It handles fireroads and mild trails a bit better than pure street bike. However it will pound out the miles on the pavement Like a horse with no name.
I sat on one at a dealer and was very impressed. Everything looked & felt high quality. It had a standard seat on it which I thought was very hard. Not convinced it's priced right considering the low tech, but if it sells then I guess it's priced right!
This is the first of many V85 videos I've watched that addresses the question of whether the bike has self-cancelling turn signals. So thanks for that.
Thks for the smidgen comment re: heat on a rider's legs during summer. I live in southern OK and ride from Kansas City thru KS, AR, OK, TXS, and NM. Summers are hot and I have looked at MG for a long time but I refuse to buy one without knowing the heat on legs in 100-108 summer heat.
Great review, well done. We share many of the same reasons for riding a motorcycle. In regards to your video, thank you for not including an intro with heavy metal music and annoying graphics of explosions and lightning bolts. I actually felt relaxed afterwards. That’s a lot better than feeling like I have Red Bull bleeding from my eyes and ears after most motorcycle review videos.
Is this Australia?Or USA?I wonder why MG is selling these in general nice-looking bikes in my country equipped with ugly supermodern direction indicator lights (shaped like a rat penis) Tried to find y o u r lights in Mandello last year - without succes.Could you help me? Thank you for your Video.I agree with nearly all your statements.Ride safely!
On the Iphone the volume works. But Now I switch to Android aswell. Also to start voice command on the iphone I was just pressing the heated grip button (I don't have heated grips but the button was used for this autoamtically). I am not convinced about this. Mouting the phone on a bar above the display and using the MIA only for engine monitoring (like engine temp taht is not available on the normal display) seems to be the way I use it only. Also I have had experiences of music not coming through properly after the dealer did a firmware upgrade.... I gave up on the music via the MIA and the navigation.... I gave up aswell as My Tomtom was much more efficeint and had offline maps. I would just like to have Apple/Android Carplay (the same as on the Africa twin 1100) That would be much more usefull. I also found tha tthe documentation was very scarse.
I totally agree with you on all aspects : This is a very sweet ride that is "alive". In addition, it is not a BMW GS850, so the savages would not want to steal it. And by the way BMW do not make any more reasonnable small displacement bikes with such a noble engine configuration (true V Twin, air cooled, shaft drive, wintage style and driving mood) with all the modern advantages (EURO5, cruise control, 6 Gears, usefull TFT display, less that 250kg wet) and so simple to use (never more than 2 steps to get to any features in the display menus). The exhaust catalyser is a bit hot in the summer, but on the other hand the exhaust is not noisy enough to upset the sleepy neighbours. Even Honda stopped making a true V twin with shaft drive and reasonnable usability. Thanks to Moto Guzzi for this, and thank you for celebrating it.
