I love being a priest of Jesus Christ. Primary to that vocation is sharing the Good News, and so most videos on this channel will do just that in some small way, such as clips about vocations and the role of faith in our lives and the world around us.
If you'd like to still do the Marian Consecration, but in preparation for the the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (instead of the Immaculate Conception), you can begin the 33 days of preparation on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th!
Speed skating for Jesus? Lol. Fr. Groschell died hearing the words "well done thou good and faithful servant", I'm a Pentecostal, and a Messianic Jew (from an orthodox Jewish past), I can safely say not all Catholics are hellbound, and not all Protestants are heavenbound. Benedict and his order are truly examples of what it means to live out the great commission.
Hi, Fr. Chasman. Did I get that correct? Thanks so much for this review that I really enjoyed. I just watched it a moment ago. I too had to see the movie more than once because it was that great, powerful, and inspiring. I can hardly wait until September 11 when I buy For Greater Glory on DVD. :) I'm glad I was able to bring one of my Muslim friends along with me on one occasion. I know martyr Joselito's in Heaven. I love You, Jesus, and am ready to die for You. May God bless you, Fr. Chasman.
I am a non-Christian who also thought this movie was a magnum opus. Perhaps mostly because I grew up in a family of three boys with a mother who bears an uncanny likeness with the graceful personality of Chastain's character. I can relate very much to the brutal nature of an older brother who didn't know why he did what he did, and many of the scenes were flashbacks from my own life. I also wrestle with the wonder--why does 'God,' in whatever form, allow nature and man to be so brutal?
Spot on! I agree it was one of best film ever made (it reminded me of a Tarkovsky film). I thought the impressionistic style was perfect (who has crisp, perfect memories?). I think a lot of critics and audiences were uncomfortable and confused because many of them didn't make the obvious Christian connection - which is vital to appreciating the film for what it is trying to say. This is one of those masterpieces audiences weren't fully prepared for and will be appreciated in time.
I recently attended Camp Veritas an catholic youth summer camp in the Catskills and I had the wonderful oppurtunity to spend the week with Sr Kelly Francis and Sr Felicity who are two Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal. They were so amazing and they were a blessing to be around....just thought I'd share
