It’s your boy Casper here. The man with a short fuse. Good to see you come across my little unknown YT page. If you are looking for some of my old stuff on perchlorate esters and lesser known azides, I regret to inform you that it got erased for community guideline violations sadly, and I no longer have those things on file. I miss the OG old youtube when freedom reined, but what can you do? YT kind of sucks now, oh well. But despite that, I’m going to try and take another swing at inviting you to join my fun journey through the dangerously addictive scientific discipline that is explosives engineering, and energetics overall. You’re welcome to tag along. For this time around, I want to explore more than just primaries. Secondary high explosives, low explosives, propellants for rockets or missiles, flash powders, and 1.3G or 1.4G civilian pyrotechnics are def. all on my radar. Now sub and hit the bell. Make sure to grab some nitrates and fasten your seatbelts. We’re in for a wild ride…
How wet your fuel still is And how much PSI you’re pressing determines this effect also? I heard people pressing rockets and squeezing moisture out of the propellant and it seeping into the motor tube and boom Cato or using too much mineral oil can result?

@@ShortFuseMan I’ve had really good luck with the KCLO3 version of hellfire with short spindle and and burner rockets. It makes for bad ass 5/16 bottle rockets for sure.
I am not sure why RU-vid keeps deleting my comments. I answered your question and said that I pour 10 grams Into a mason jar. I fill up 1/4 with acetone then stir for a couple of minutes. I wait for 30 minutes then stir more. Any method you recommend I try?
I have a question hope you can answer. I recently started using NC made from bullseye and the take off on my strobes sound different. Sounds like it’s struggling.
I like these rockets ! I was a licensed pyro for a couple years. We fired lots of ball shells and cakes, but never any rockets. I would now definitely include rockets in a show. Very cool !
Any new vids coming up? I've been craving something. Been experimenting with spherical flash powder configurations recently. Now it's spherical or nothing for me
@@ShortFuseMan definitely pleasing to the eyes. One of the most satisfying things for me is when I pull the motor of the spindle and see that glass finish on the grain especially with Red Sali
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen isatoic anhydride in any pyro formulation. It does not make sense to me that it might function like BHT as a stabilizer. But id love to be able to store whistle rockets longer. Where did you get this formulation from? I like the idea of methyl salicylate.
It acts as a free radical scavenger in a unique way, especially in the presence of organic esters, which, specifically in this case, is exploited. It has something to do with the position of the nitrogen in its secondary amine functional region. In materials such as the tert-butylated aromatics BHA, BHT, and TBHQ, the tert-butyl groups do all the magic for ya, but they are slightly less efficient overall. Not by enough to matter, of course. So, using stuff like BHT is totally cool if it makes more sense financially. ✅️
@@Pwnzistor I also play KSP. Yeah, the wind being captured by my microphone was NOT in my control. If I could have done something about it, I would have. Consider removing your downvote to help the channel. You don’t even need to like or subscribe to me.
Are you running copper chromite and ferrocene on those? And are you running KClO3 as a component of the oxidizer? Nicely executed, sir. Your fit and finish is nice as well.
@@maineipm1423 As stated in my previous videos, yes, this is Dan’s KHP whistle propellant made with copper chromite and ferrocene to catalyze. The only difference is that this is specifically the pure perchlorate formulation.
