@@ezoray I was at hot wax records every Saturday with noggy picking up records but most of them was white label and there was some bangers there, there are some white label on RU-vid if you search.
I was born 2002 but we were too broke to get DVD or blueray when it came out. So I had an old VHS with tons of old movies, I used to watch Jaws every damn day
@@SCP_Gate-Guardian no vhs players are trash i would rather play a PlayStation console to play bluray Disks are generally better than s***** tapes. Vcr Who the f*** needs VCR anymore? It's the 21st century. Vcr Are piece of s*** comparative DVD players or even bluray players.
@@Supersammy22_290 you're comparing two different technologies from two different eras 🙄 and as for why people would still watch vhs because nostalgia that's why.
@@Supersammy22_290 btw since you want to compare these technologies look at which lasted the longest. VHS lasted 30 years (40 if you want to count the fact that the last VHS player was manufactured in 2016) where as DVD only lasted about 15 years and the only reason blu-ray is still made is because game consoles are using blu-ray disks for physical media which spoiler alert is also on the way out.
@@SCP_Gate-Guardian Also I saw you in an old comment with dish network. When I was Talking about the Satellite TV why people need Satellite TV instead of internet.
Yeah, both great teams. So much skill, discipline and teamplay. Even though I'm more into raGe because I've known Gremio since primary school. Sorry BBC. 😞 All love, WkB/DiE C4
widescreen cropped a lot i think 4:3 will make a comeback in the future just due to fact that human vision is not narrow as 16:9 so you always want to see what's above and below, as 4:3 format suggests
DVDs are better than VHS in almost every way. Their picture and sound quality is much greater than VHS, as well as their overall convenience and ease of use. Additionally, DVDs are more durable and scratch resistant than VHS, making them much more resistant to physical damage. Overall, DVDs are a far superior format to VHS and there is really no comparison between the two when it comes to quality and convenience.
nope the vhs is crap! dvd offers much more better picture quality and better sound quality dvd is king while vhs is just pice of junk! vhs tapes suck and they always will
@@samuelarriaza1283lo que me gusta de ver las películas en DVD, es que se pueden comprar; para llevar a la casa. Pero antes cuando salían las películas en VHS, solo se podían conseguir rentadas y subsidiadas; en blockbuster.
We're too spoiled nowadays. Back then it was just watching a movie and having fun. Nowadays it's all about pixels, and screen sizes, and surround sound etc.
@@osenglishsame for me the coolest and most exciting thing for me growing up was coming home from school and going to my vhs collection and hearing the sound of my vcr taking in the vhs and lay back relax and enjoy the movie and also going to blockbuster also made that experience even better
As a kid I remember getting my first dvd and being blown away by the quality. This was just 420p but looking at this I can remember why the jump felt so huge
Obviously, color quality is MUCH richer. We don’t get an idea of the sound quality. But…we already know the DVD’s technology is also much richer. However, I just have one question here. Did YOU decide the perspective? Just seems odd the VHS actually shows MORE, due to the DVD seemingly being “zoomed in” a bit. VHS actually has the camera lines (the ones in the corners, in order to frame it up properly). These were cropped out, of the DVD view(s). That’s just odd, to me; as it SHOULD be the other way around…at least you’d THINK it’d be the other way around. That’s all
@@Mariofans-gn1lu It's not better it's different.Good VHS HQ models will give an image with the same color saturation. And the movies recorded on them have better resolution while remaining backwards compatible. In the case of using s-vhs, you will get a difference that will be very close to the dvd image.
@@Jordan-fn5rj Not resolution because analog and digital cannot be treated the same. Resolution cannot therefore be a determinant, although today's standards assume it. But of course, there are films in VHS releases that are better than their digital equivalents. Remember about the types of tapes, there are several types. Commonly used, they did not offer sensational parameters not only for the image but also for the sound.
@@piotrus7aswaitosaw979 digital quality is better then crappy analog vhs tapes dvd is better then crappy analog vhs tapes, no vhs tape will ever be able to match the quality of full hd blu ray discs and 4k bluray discs
if you put in the time and effort then you can make vhs look good. This is one of those sort of rare instances. The saturation is good, it is very clear and it’s a clean, new tape so no buggy artifacts
@@Mariofans-gn1lu vhs can be better for certain movies because some vhs tapes have more features than DVD. also if there's promotional content you can skip it to the actual movie instead of having to wait like 20 minutes just to see the movie.
@@Mariofans-gn1lu its easier to record tv to a vhs than a dvd. So thats a point on the VHS side. Actually vhs was never meant for movies. It was invented to record tv shows
LE - Lethal Enforcers. Thanks for the upload ezoray, I have a surprisingly small number of screen shots and demo recordings from back then, I guess I was too busy having fun.
This must be a case where the vhs version was released in an open matte version for all the negative shots (the scenes that don’t feature CGI), whereas the DVD version is a pan and scan of a widescreen version of the entire movie. I've seen this before with Jurassic Park, only there was no pan and scan version like the Spider-Man DVD.
