Can u not run 37s with the m210 with 470 or do u need to run 513
@HorsinAround
@HorsinAround 17 дней назад
Yes you can run 37's with 4.70 gears and lots of folks do. But I had to re-gear anyhow so I chose what I believed would be the optimal gear ratio for this combination.

What radio do you use?
@HorsinAround
@HorsinAround 21 день назад
At the time of that video we were using handhelf Baofeng 2-way radios in Chanel (but a hard-mounted 50-watt Rugged Radio in Coco, our Early Bronco). Since then we have installed a 50-Watt ICOM in Chanel. We have a video on it if you're insterested.

Question what about shelf road or to much body role on road. Thanks you so much your vids are great
@HorsinAround
@HorsinAround 21 день назад
It's not bad on the road as we said in the video, and off-road also. Shelf roads are no different, just dirt roads with a drop-off on one side, that doesn't much affect things. If you meant off-camber that's a different thing but as long as we're not loaded heavily its still fine in off-camber. I will say that more recently we've been doing more camping, with a roof-rack and more weight loaded up high, and in that situation I think it would be better to have the sway bar under there.

ive already gone thru 2 sets. and just ordered RCV shafts. do you think its a good idea to diff drop still ? i have the baja long arm kit on it also .
@HorsinAround
@HorsinAround 2 месяца назад
I don't think I'm qualified to give you advice on that but my thoughts are, if the RCV's have enough usable operating angle, you shouldn't need a diff drop. But I don't know *how much* more angle they would need versus stock, or how much the RCV's allow, so I simply can't say. Also it's going to be dependent on your specific suspension setup, which may be different than mine. I had considered the RCV or Spicer Ultimates, but they're both very expensive so I saw this diff drop and a $450 set of Ford shafts as a low-cost alternative. I had heard that the RCV's had some quality issues when they first came out but I'm guessing they've worked those out by now?
@blackrebelbeard
@blackrebelbeard 2 месяца назад
@@HorsinAround yeah exactly right. and with my long arm suspension i have almost double the flex. so rcv we shall see. yes all issues have been fixed as far as everyone says.

If I remember correctly, most diff drop kits for the 4Runners included spacers for the skid plate as well so it would clear. Wonder if that would work here?
@HorsinAround

I suppose you could do that but I'd rather not loose that ground clearance across the entire width of the skid.

Thanks for the kind words! I actually do prefer an automatic, but this manual trans has been fun, and there's a reason we chose it for this Bronco, which is covered in depth in our previous videos :) I believe the three early Broncos all have autos. I would guess a C4 in Nicole & Jim's (green with yellow doors). Not sure on the other two, maybe something with overdrive since they both drive them on the freeway a lot (maybe an AOD or 4R70W).

@@Cmax04 Glad you got it figured out, learned a new skill and added to your tool collection. These are the basic things anyone should be prepared to do if they plan on doing even the simplest installations and modifications to a vehicle. I didn't include that in my video because it was solely about the process of installing the OMS system. I didn't cover the process of adding accessories to it. Many accessories should be mount-able using the wide array of existing holes that Lobo provides in these components. But that one piece not exactly lining up perfectly was not a deal killer or even a speed bump for me. Drill an extra hole as needed, and keep on trucking.

Taking off the brakes takes a few minutes and makes wrangling the CV a lot easier, plus way less strain on the brake hose and the lower ball joint. :) Undoing the passenger lower control arm is the easiest way to reinstall the steering rack. Feed it through there.

I'm curious, what antenna are you using with that radio? Were you able to get the SWR down below 2 for both UHF and VHF?
@HorsinAround
@HorsinAround 3 месяца назад
Joerg there's a link to the antenna I used, in the video description. I just found one that said it was dual band compatible. I don't know much more about it and I haven't even checked SWR. It worked great out of the box for me so I didn't geek out over the technicalities at all. I did, however, discover that my radio only receives on the GMRS channels and doesn't transmit. They didn't, at the time of that video. At that time the conventional wisdom was that they wouldn't fit, a "fact" that had been circulated by various trusted sources, albeit based only on gearsets that were available at the time those claims were originally made.

To be honest we didn't even consider doing that (removing the top mount from the diff). The M190 came out fairly easily without doing that, even with the steering rack still in place. We naively pushed forward, thinking the M210 would go back in the same way LOL.
