I started drawing when i was very young. Mostly drew anime characters i loved in my youth. At around 21, life stuff happened, school became a struggle as i was close to getting my diploma and around age 22 i quit drawing completely. For some reason i never picked it up again till the end of last year. Im 31 now. I have started from the basics AND even started painting! And i love it. Im so glad something just clicked in me last year that made me go back to it. And now i'm taking it a lot more serious. Your videos help me so much in getting insight on how our creative brain works, which helps me to learn faster and in a better way. Thank you!
36 years ago my art teacher told me I have no talent for art. I fully believed that for 30 years. Then I took up acrylic painting and I was quite good at it and even sold some paintings! I've not been able to paint for a while because of family commitments and it's been so hard! That is changing now. I can paint, I am an acrylic artist but, I can't draw. I always wanted to draw, and then I found you 😊 Here's to you and thankyou for coming into my life just when I needed you 😀 Can't wait to get back into that wonderful zone 😄
I always seem to find a distraction away from starting my drawing. I like the idea of small squares and, just like a chocolate biscuit, once I start drawing I know I won’t stop at one square. So I’m going to try your approach and do one square to start.
@@msjkrameyDon't bother, pal, your time is precious. Some people just have to be contrarian, because that somehow makes them feel superior and they need it.
@@msjkramey I get that and appreciate ur response, I just think time is better spent working one something that actually looks visually appealing. Not sure why the other dude chimed in with their personal feelings
@natevart4156 progress over perfection, you know? That's especially good advice for someone is rusty. Like, I've been having a hard time getting back into playing piano because (despite playing for about 10 years consistently) I haven't actually sat down and played in 10 years and I sound like garbage. But a few minutes of trying anyways is better than just waiting until I'm magically better or practicing until my fingers are raw
Totally agree with you in so many aspects of this video. Thru out the day I feed my conscience mind with art related material ie reading, watching RU-vid for art techniques, art images, art history, colour theory etc etc. Then I let the mind absorb it,then at night I experiment, practice, play, create in my art journals. But when I go to sleep my dreamscape explodes and my subconscious comes to life & is full of art related creations, with me experimenting and creating art endlessly in my Dreams. I love that my mind is processing all I have feed my mind thru out the day, and over the weeks. I love your channel, always find your content so wonderful and interesting. Thanks for sharing and inspiring Us. Keep creating and look forward to seeing more videos. Have a fantastic day 🎨🌈☀🙏😊
that one was harder, I would lapse into drawing the outline of the chair, then had to keep reminding myself to concentrate on the negative space. Took a bit to really see the squares in the chair. Got there in the end yeehaa! Thankyou for another great lesson Danny, you are a wonderful teacher 🙃
I ran across this back in the 90's I think and I was just thinking about Moonlight Chronicles yesterday. It seems like I even gave my daughter a copy. It had a huge influence on my art journey. I think I should go back to my roots and take it up again.
About twenty years ago an essay "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" was published. It was basically an introduction to scientific proof of what You are saying here. But it was rejected by almost everyone back then. A few years later author of this essay, Nicolas Carr, has published a book "Shallow Mind" which was fully implemented documentary backended with many scientific and historical papers of how it makes us stupid. And it really makes us stupid. Badly. But general public realized it just recently, when for many it is already too late for rewire damaged brains.
I used to draw when I was 12 and almost after 9 years I donno why I'm so obsessed with painting and drawing but I don't know where to start I hardly remember anything infact nothing at all😢 but I want to draw😭😭
IMO, what's killing rich, nuanced conversation and verbal interaction is that ubiquitous, obnoxious, flabby, beige word 'like'. 'I was like ... ' 'It was like - raining' 'She called me and she was like ... ' Well educated, middle-aged people pepper their speech with this ugly 'filler' word.' They don't even know they're doing it because they hear their school- and college-age kids use it like multiple times in, like, every, like, sentence. Rich, descriptive, colourful, enchanting language is languishing. That - rather than our devices - is what is diminishing and greying-out our brains.
