Also you seem to be really excited about these girls’ music and that makes me so happy! Just enjoy the ride, don’t sweat over not knowing everyone’s names, it’ll all click sooner than you think!
Hahaha yes their title tracks are often like jigsaw puzzles and the first few listens can be over-stimulating. It took a few watches to catch everything. I say this all the time that watching their MV’s permanently altered my brain chemistry and now I only think of Stray Kids. Whether that’s a warning or an invitation I’m not sure. 🤣🫣
I appreciate your reaction- very diplomatic and constructive! You don’t fake your reaction for views and it’s refreshing to hear your perspective! I am excited to watch your Thunderous reaction next!
You can also try songs like Easy Megaverse Double knot Victory song Freeze Venom Maze of memories Back door Han Jisung solo song - I got it - his rap song Since you asked about groups being separate and coming together, I highly recommend NCT. They are a big group of 26 members which are broken down in about 5 different sub units who also come together and have done mvs with like 23 members. I think you should start with subunit NCT 127 kick it or fact check. For a full group song I think NCT 2018 black on black or NCT 2020 resonance mv.
TopLine, Muddy Waters, Venom, Freeze, and Megaverse. Try these to start with. I love all their songs they are incredibly talented. I am one of the older Stays(I will be 60 in a couple months.
Thanks for the reaction! My suggestion is as you go down this rabbit hole, it will be important to remember that most KPop groups M/Vs have a Lore that is portrayed. Sometimes subtly. Stray Kids lore is based on multiple dimensions/parallel universes. And the chase through them. So even if the lore isn’t reflected in the lyrics it is usually referenced in the M/V. That’s why you will see each member of the group play 2 characters in a single M/V. You see that here, and in Circus, Case 143, etc. And usually it’s good vs evil. There are just SO many layers to these M/Vs that make them more entertaining than most. And their live performances satisfy those with a penchant for visual sensory performances (like festival, carnival, or even Broadway) In short, regardless of translation issues, or colloquial uses, KPop (which encompasses MANY genres) in general is more interesting and entertaining than current western music. And Stray Kids are exceptionally good at delivering many genres - sometimes in the same song. So there is something for everyone! We will be happy to help narrow that down for you. They’ve been doing this for 6 years and have skillfully delivered I think 18 albums and MANY MANY solo passion projects (not official releases). Welcome to Stayville!
If you really want some solid rap you gotta get into their unit stuff. Particularly look into songs by 3ratcha (this is a subunit of producers in skz because of course they produce all their own stuff.) Songs I recommend are, 3ratcha, Heyday, Maze of memories, Tortis and The hare, Topline, and Item if you like rap (unfortunately not a lot of those songs will be recommended by others as they're not as popular.) As far as collabs with other groups look into their stages they did during the show "Kingdom Legendary War" it was a competition show and a lot of good stuff came out of it.
Sabrina is actually an actress and she is a very good singer. She has done broadway. However, her pop music to me is so mellow. 😅like girl I know you can sing. Sing to me!! Barry (the man in the video and famous actor) is her boyfriend in real life and he is in a lot of controversies at the moment. No one understood why she dated him. She released this song and I thought it was pretty funny because she’s basically warning him in front of everyone. I don’t really listen to Sabrina but I love Barry as an actor. That’s how I found the song.
I like her talk singing, it’s conversational and funny. For example in her song skinny dipping, which is basically just open word poetry in like a conversational style is where this singing style shines best. She’s a very strong songwriter, and she seems to focus on that more. Also she’s switching through her ranges quite effortlessly, that’s not easy. She’s making it sound easy. She can sing really beautifully but the soft and deep vocals she uses have this vintage flair that kind of draws you in. If you want some powerhouse vocals from her, sue me acapella, and some of her older songs, and covers on RU-vid are good for those.
As a Dominican, it happens all the time. I remember growing up and we would close the entire street for big birthday parties and invite the neighbors. At night in close neighborhoods with “colmados.” The people are sitting outside their house listening to the colmados music and having a good time. It’s more reserved now because people have changed but old neighborhoods are still the same. At bars like these it is very common. My cousin owns one. All we do is dance so for us it’s a normal day to be dancing at a bar.
Respectfully, I just don’t think SKZ is ur thing - or anything not American hip-hop or rap. As another hip-hop head, what I respect more than lyrics at times is stylist flow and technical abilities. I just don’t think it interests you to keep doing these reactions. I know Stays like me are trying to convince you otherwise, I am going to recommend that you just move on from SKZ. Just my opinion, so others please don’t hate. I just respect our boys too much to see a reactor not “get them” Good luck with ur channel 🤙🏼
I appreciate your input. However I will continue to check out more of their music until I feel like I have given their catalog a sufficient and fair shot. Regardless of the amount of views I do or don’t get. As someone who made music, I think it would be disrespectful to judge their entire body of work off of 3 songs especially considering this is not only a new genre but a new language to me. Also telling people “move on” from your favorite artist is crazy.
Are you new to this? Those switch ups are basic Kpop formula. SKDS are just notorious for being really cheeky with it. But this is by a long shot not one of my fave songs by them. I personally like Back Door, Case 143 or Circus, that kinda vibe. But I think their rap goes crazy in some of their older stuff like District 9.
@@isaacvazquezReacts Ahhh…ok so this is not a “genre” but an industry. The genre(‘s) can be anything (I mean aaAAAAANYthing! Even Korean Trot, which is a very old Korean War era genre) but only when it exists within a certain formula. Kpop is made of “Always includes” and “often/might but doesn’t have to”’s. The “Always includes” ones are Styling concept Choreography Leader Main vocal Main dancer Rappers Former trainees. On that one I’d like to say not always but even though being a trainee is not a requirement to participate on survival shows, I’ve never seen anyone no matter how skilled debut without at least SOME training/orientation period (even a month or two). The “usually/often includes” ones are Storyline arc/lore Lead vocal Lead dancer. The “Sometimes/might also include ones are Composer/Producers (among group members) Sub leader Sub vocals Sub rappers Visual Martial Arts/Stunts/Acrobatics leader Choreographer One song/2 music videos (sometimes an additional “Performance” version so fans can see the full choreography/what they’ll actually see on stage). And unless a group is self produced (like Stray Kids), the funny thing is even many Kpop producers (who come from all over the world) don’t actually know what Kpop is. They just receive requests to submit songs or part of one (a beat, a topline etc.), but when they see for the first time a song THEY produced actually being performed they also are dumbstruck speechless. Most labels have “in-house”producers that that work with those submissions to make it “Kpop” (like you said…AAAAAALL over the place! There are hundreds of groups in the industry, more people and more talent than there are parts to fit them in 😅). But there is one thing no label seems to take exception on, not even SM (SM artists not allowed to produce their own title tracks)…and that’s that the rap parts are always left blank. These need to be filled in by the artists themselves. In any case you’re pretty observant and most likely will quickly learn on your own anything I’ve missed or overlooked if you choose to continue reacting to them, but I hope that’s helpful.
3 songs is just the tip of the iceberg! There are so many varieties of songs by Stray Kids. I’m a baby Stay (newer fan) and really love watching others reactions so thank you! They also have some Japanese songs that are really good! All in is one of my favs.
This song brought me to Stray Kids thx to my daughters. Im 55 y/o. They have also beautiful songs with other vibes. Listen to them every day. Hope to go to a concert once🍀🔥 its a great rabbithole. This song is about cooking there songs😊
As my first kpop experience (other than hearing it in the background at restaurant or store) it was a lot to handle 😂. I since then have learned that this is their style, thanks to the fans explaining it to me.
Thanks for reacting to Stray Kids!! Happy you enjoyed this song more ❤❤ I would say k-pop fans are crazy but Stays are pretty chill. The only thing I would suggest you never do is say one group is better than another or make comparisons. Fan wars tend to get heated. You can say you like another group just don’t compare them. 😅
lol you saying I pay attention to the lyrics had me nervous. You have to know SKZ to understand the lyrics. They all make sense and are great but the translation doesn’t do it justice and paired with how they write for their fans and themselves they don’t look good. 😂 That is not to say that their lyrics aren’t important because they do have a lot of meaning. I don’t think any of their songs would fully fit your taste. Which is fine so don’t feel pressure to check out more songs. They are my favorite group ❤
Han is who you were asking about. He’s is what people all the ace of the group. Boy is mad talented in everything. Rapping, singing, dancing, writes a lot of the lyrics to their songs. All these guys are super talented. Adore them. If partial to rap, might try Got It, Heyday, 3Racha, Topline (to name a few that I love from them). I like watching the lyric videos too. Takes away the distraction of music videos and their mad visuals. ❤
