Amazing video!!! I do have some questions though as I have a 7yo Stimsons python and a 5mo Marble Childrens python that I would love to so this for, but I only have the enclosures that they are currently in. (The 5mo is in a tub in the enclosure.) What could I use as temporary housing for them if I were to make this? What would be the best time of year to do this? (As you know it’s just turned winter here in Australia.) How long did the whole process take? I love this design so much 💕

I love this, could you do a video on something like this that is fully removable? I’ve made two other pieces but would love a full background that I can take out
@marjoleinvnoort6961
@marjoleinvnoort6961 6 дней назад
I don’t carve Al the foam but after the grout I do a couple epoxy layers and the last layer when the epoxy is still wet I use fine sand over it and that’s taking the shining away and gives structure

@@ReptileWayHow would you recommend making a removal spray foam background, would you recommend attaching the foam to wood? l’m hesitant to making the background semi-permanent by attaching the foam to the tank walls, thanks.
@sootie989
@sootie989 3 дня назад
@@ReptileWay@sootie989 i forgot to add) Have you removed a background from any of your tanks? If so how hard was it?
@ReptileWay
@ReptileWay 2 дня назад
@sootie989 thanks for the questions. I have removed a fixed background (whereby it consisted of spray foam sprayed directly onto enclosure walls, grouted, painted and waterproofed). For the removal, firstly, I used a hammer to break and crack the grout. Then, I used a knife to cut away the foam and grout. It's a timely and dusty job. Then I would do another fixed background design. If you wanted your enclosure to go back to its original form, may be tricky as it would take a lot of time and effort to remove every last bit of spray foam. You can create removable backgrounds. However small species of snakes like the cheeky Antaresia’s may find a way to get behind it. To avoid this you could silicone it in place and then if you ever wanted to remove it you just cut away the silicone. Or some people even run spray foam around the perimeter of the removable background to fix it in place. One thing to remember with the backboard material you use, you don't want it to bend, it must stay flat through the entire building process so it can go flush against the backwall of your enclosure. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺️

you're literally enabling people to give their pets better enclosures. a lot of us cannot afford the nice backgrounds with ledges but making it from scratch is so much more affordable. and with all of the design options, we can make better backgrounds than the ones sold online for $400usd

Hey my name is Kimmy and i have 2 bearded dragons that i rescued 8 months ago and they had some issues but one is disabled because the breeder had so many dragons in one small tank and his front foot was bitten and it had to be amputated I'm desperately in need of a double enclosure for these beautiful boys i didn't know that i had to get them different enclosure when they turned a year old so now after i spent all this money on 2 glass front open tanks from petco they need bigger homes and i just am stuck because i need help with getting their enclosures built.. 😢 I'm from Providence RI, USA 🇺🇸 I don't know where to begin with getting some help with my project here are my boys pictures their names are Thor (because of his missing foot looks like a hammer ) and his brother's name is Loki oh i can't send u pictures 😢

@ReptileWay
@ReptileWay Месяц назад
I sense a hint of animosity in this comment 🤣 But I honestly don't mind, in the spirit of free speech, let it out. Also, I think you may have had a typo. I'm assuming you meant to say *this isn't easy if you have no artistic side* In alot of our videos we break it down into easy to follow steps and these builds can be accomplished by people who consider themselves not artistic. However, it does require patience, perseverance and a bit of effort. You are right, you do have the options of just buying reptile hides, but these hides can be very limited in design. Also there isn't really such mass produced hides on the markets that provides this much textural enrichment, and with the design in this video, this style of hide increases the surface area of the enclosure with a basking platform along the entire top of the hide, then a cave underneath, as well as usable space underneath with this 'bridge like' design. I personally haven't really seen mass-produced hides that offer all this. Feel free to share links in the comments of hides you would recommend for the not so artistic and slightly frustrated individuals like yourself 🙏

@ReptileWay
@ReptileWay Месяц назад
This is sometimes a hot topic of debate. However, most knowledgeable reptile owners, breeders and vets advise against using pine shavings, for various reasons. I would recommend you to do some research yourself on this matter, so you can decide for yourself. Personally, I would not choose to use pine shavings for any of my snakes and other reptiles. All the best! 🙏

Hi! I only build reptile products for my local area, Victoria Australia. However as of right now I am booked for the next 3+ months with builds for the RU-vid channel and my own personal collection. I think Bioactive have alot of benefits for reptiles and I've had some in the past. A great RU-vid channel to gain a wealth of knowledge in this area is SerpaDesign, as this is a big focus of the channel. I have personally made a few Bioactive enclosure for Blue-tongue Lizards and Green tree python's, however this is meant for animals in more tropical and humid environments.

really loved this build. Just a quick question. We haven't got one yet but are planning in the next couple of weeks. You have the heat sorted from top to bottom but when he is down the bottom does he get sufficient UV as the bulbs are way up top or doesn't he stay down for long or doesn't he need it? I haven't a clue sorry but just trying to work it all out as this is the first time I've seen a tall enclosure like this and it looks amazing :)
