Unfortunate that so much of the UI has been moved around or changed since this was made. I love your teaching style but it's very frustrating to be following along and keep having to stop because what I need to do is no longer there. Then I have to scan around and look for where something has been relocated or renamed, sometimes having to go to a search engine to find the solution. It makes learning with this video go from what should feel like a joy to truly laborious.
great tips! I'd be interested to see how you use the 3D Connection mouse you shared at the beginning and when you might choose to use the knob on the 3D Connection mouse vs the various pan/zoom/orbit/rotate techniques you shared using a traditional mouse and keyboard.
F360 Joints? It's not that confuses sw users. It simply doesn't have any mechanical, or engineering meaning. And you do not have control over joints. It's just more playful and...dumb. That's also the reason why all the video tutorials, even the one of Autodesk, just show cylindrical joints, the only that kinda works
While I've done a wealth of modeling and 3D printing in various guises, I've been looking for that right flavor to get into CNC. I've watched a half dozen of these tutorials the last few days, and while some were useful, they all felt like info coming from people who've forgotten what it feels like to do this from scratch. This one felt like someone who speaks my language. Very easy to pick up, and I've figured out the right process for me to adapt. Many thanks, Lars!
Thank you for this informative video, Lars. I will be using it for my tutoring. I wish you could have shown how to find the volume of scoop. For example if I want 1 cup or 2 cups. I will continue learning.
Thank you so very much. Your detail, clarity and slow pace of explanation made it easy for me to follow, so much so that I was somewhat anticipating the next step. That was exciting. I tried using other presenters' tutorials which were so rapid-fire that I was constantly trying second-guess in retrospect what had just happened. You helped me begin to understand Fusion. Looking forward to your other tutorials. 😀❤👍
If you work on larger and or collab projects in Inventor, you'll tend to stick clear of direct editing where in it produces a direct edit feature.. Just select the solid and edit the existing feature / make a new one.
Yeah. I try to use a 'structured' short hand feature naming. Yeah dim naming is a must! Hey nice to see a channel that is actually real to CAD Designers. Mega AtABoy to you Lars!!!
My Guy !! As someone who always thought I would NEVER get my brain around CAD. You opened up a new world for me through Part 1-3 of this series. Thank You !!
Hey Lars.... I have been watching you 360 tutorials. I really appreciate the lessons. I was wondering if you could help me with a design. I am trying to make a stock for a rifle and I just having a time trying to modify qa file I downloaded. I was wondering if I could send you the file and basically what I am trying to do and maybe you could get me started on making this addition. If you got a min let me know. Again I appreciate it!!
Why did you copy and paste the contents of the displayed .DAT file into a notepad when 'save as' would save the .DAT file ready to go? Unnecessary to do that.
Still appreciating your fantastic videos. Thank you for all that you have done for the world of engineers. I always recommend your videos to every person wanting to add to their skills in the maker's community and beyond.
This video was great at explaining how to constrain holes... I have a situation which I could use your help. I have a hole #1 on the base Sketch and hole #2 on construction plain about 10mm above hole #1. How can I get hole #2 to align and constrain with the center of hole #1?
As I follow along it seems so easy, but the minute I'm off on my own I get stumped occasionally. I will just keep at it as I'm sure this will get easier with repetition. Thanks for the video. Also, I don't mind at all about the length. I could watch videos like this all day especially when it's about a topic that I want to increase my knowledge on.
Hi, I'm unable to snap the starting point of the line as shown at 6:59. I made the offset at 13mm corresponding to the inner edge of the box. So I don't understand how I can now select the edge of the lid as shown in your video which is at 17mm from the centre line.
If you project the lid before, it will snap. So before drawing the line, hit P, select the lid from the side, and hit enter. Then start to draw the line.
I guess I'll have to ask Lars, NOT LIVE 🙂 Lars, our shop has been using F360 sheet metal tool for over a year now and we still cannot seem to bring a correct thickness to the sheet metal part which would be reflected correctly in a manufacturing drawing. Any tip to getting the proper thickness to a sheet metal part? Attempting to extrude the flat panel areas just seem to overrun the radius's where the bends are. Stumped. We've learned a lot from your instructional videos. Thank you so much.
I'm using the patches to cover up features in order to get CAM to cut properly. Ex: roughing that doesn't follow every dip and curve. Sometimes it treats the patches as part of the model, other times it treats them as part of the stock. I've spent hours trying to figure out why. If anyone can tell me how I can select, how fusion treats the patch(as part of the model or part of the stock) I'd be very grateful!
So your telling me that sweep command to do custom thread profiles has been messed up since you made this video 7 years ago. It does not work properly. The new profile body has many facets and when measured to the center of the coil or sweep it will measure different throughout. Why can you not sweep to the path and get a uniform consistent body like the coil itself?
