I just finished glueing up the 6th panel of a cherry blanket box today . I really wish I had watched this first for the saw dust cleaning up the glue tip 😆, fack.
I think consoles are beautiful, it's stupid to hide them. And every 6 years everything has to be remake - because there will be other, newer consoles. 😆
May I ask - you used rare earth magnets to hold the planes against the till. How has the CA glue held up over the years? Have the magnets come loose at all? I am about to glue mine in place in the next week or so.
I don't understand why it doesn't have more likes, not only does it do everything manually, which is useful for those of us who don't have machines, but it also shows how to fix it if something goes wrong. Of the videos I watched, I don't remember any showing how to fix it. 👌💯 Greetings from Argentina
Wood glue for all bird house pieces, perches (plural) for birds as they prefer it; though the shelf is nice as well, a metal or wood cover around the front hole to protect against predators from gnawing into the hole, and a piece of wood longer and taller than the house so you can screw the house into a wall or tree or bind it with twine or rope to a tree.
Unfortunately you left no means to clean the house at the end of nesting season, you should always leave the bottom of your birdhouses free to be removed for cleaning by simply securing them with two pieces of wire running across the bottom and thru small eyelets screwed into the sidewall bottoms. Leaving a small gap around the bottom also aids in ventilation which helps keep it dry.
Beautiful table. Loved your video. I just made a table top 24x48 with approx 70-90 1/2" oak dowels. Lost count! Lol--- Solid like a tank. I will be doing more projects with just dowels of all colors. No biscuits just dowels. But my table top has an slight cupping after glue up and I'm trying to fix it. It was perfectly flat before glue up.😢
Thanks! Sorry to hear about the cupping. Did you use cauls during the glue up like I did? Also if it is cupping upwards (like “U”) you can use the clips that hold it onto the table frame to help keep it flat.
Did you use Arm-R-Seal for the table top too? Just wondering because General Finishes says only 3 coats are needed. Additional coats will not improve durability. I'm debating on whether to use Arm-R-Seal or Osmo for my walnut table.
Oh how I loved the “ find my happy place “ when the leg went south. We have all be there. Love and respect for anyone who make the efforts with hand tools.
Can I suggest a possible video for you to make to attract beginners? Make a small box, but cut it with a sabre saw, and then make the spline hole with a hand saw, and the splines with a hand saw. Don't use big machines we don't have. sand it without a machine. Don't use walnut, use pine or something less expensive. We cannot get any dark wood here in Italy. Just a suggestion. good luck, anyhow... ciao
I like that fence pusher that you made, I have a small table saw and I want to make one. Do you have a video on it? Does it have something under it that follows the channels?
Hey Dave! Yup that’s called a cross cut sled and it does ride in the channels. I have a video on how I made this one, and lots of other channels have them to. It’s the #1 most useful jig in my shop, highly recommend!
@@dkbuilds Yes,I hunted through your videos and found it, seems like a bigger version, a bit different but I will use the ideas as it looks like a beginner can do it. I need it badly with such a small table saw. I will subscribe and watch other videos, too. Thanks for answering. I am American but living in Italy...ciao!
You just saved me so much time before I was using a file on my circular sawblade. I was at the point. I’m buying a new one, but thank you for telling me how to fix it.
