So as of right now I have my bachelors in psych and I’m currently in the last year of my masters averaging a 4.0 gpa my student advisor suggested I go into Forensic Psych over clinical I’ve always been fascinated with the human mind and had the ability to read people so becoming a Profiler is up my alley but I also want to work with patients and help people heal from their past and present trauma it’s also my passion so I’m conflicted.
I like your videos, especially how you break down criminal psychology versus forensic psychology. I did my undergrad in criminal justice, but I’m trying to understand myself if forensics psychology so I want to master in currently I’m in a masters for app behavior analysis, but I’m having second thoughts about it since I’m fresh started in my first week of course work. I’m thinking to myself that forensics psychology might be my path, but I wanna make sure it is because I can’t keep switching concentration. How do you truly find out that forensic psychology is for you? Also I haven’t truly immerse myself in criminal law since they go hand-in-hand, but I’m thinking that it’s something that I can grow into; my bachelors degree in criminal justice anyway. I worked in the juvenile justice prison for six years as well and I just want to get out of the correctional officer after aspect of it.
idk if you still read these comments, but you probably know how alot of people start getting interested in this field because of shows like criminal minds. how different or similar are what they do on criminal minds and real life? would you say criminal minds is good at portraying how the job works or is it too glamorized/ simplified?
hello dear i am from nepal i am also suffering papilary carcinoma..last year removed my total thiridoctamy then after surgery i take radioactive idion scan ..there is not seen any problem ...
@@kayladanielle2358 if you could do it all over again would you skip the masters? I’m just thinking about money and time. I don’t really understand the difference at this stage.
@@123lol908 I personally would because it’s allowed me to have a decent source of income while working on my doctorate. However, I also understand your perspective because it is more costly & time consuming. Finances is a big role as well as your end goal.
It wasn't terrible. I really only noticed the pain when I strained my neck. I was able to manage it with extra strength Tylenol once I was discharged from the hospital.
I'm interning in community mental health. I don't like the payment set-up at your private practice. It's a bit unfair. I guess you would have to try to book a lot of clients each week.
Do you feel like you’re making a difference ?? I myself had issues with alcohol and I want to help others o already have a BA in psychology but I don’t really use it but I see that sometimes jobs feel like just jobs and not like real help ?
Sometimes it's hard to feel like I'm making a difference but my patients tend to tell me otherwise. Even if they do relapse I know we both are doing the best we can so I give myself grace.
Hi, Love your videos! It’s very realistic of how my working out, work and private practice week goes. Can you share the link to The Therapist Planner? I didn’t see it in the previous video. Thanks❤
If the school offers a Bachelors in Forensic Psychology, whats next? A masters then?? How many yrs total Vs if a school doesn’t offer it… whats the way to do it? Criminal justice major and psy minor?? How many yrs ?
im a freshman so im exploring all kinds of careers but forensic psychology i have had so much interest in and this video only made me even more interested!! thank you for making this video!!
So after having Strep throat, my doctor noticed that my thyroid was swollen, so he wanted me to get thyroid blood tests done (they came out normal), then also get Ultra Sound too!! So i did, they found 3 nodules! One on the left lobe is 0.5 cm , on the right i have 2 of them!! 1.2 cm and 1.7 cm (T4) They recommended FNA biopsy on the 1.7 cm nodule. Im suppose to get it done January 5th, 2024 and have been having major panic attacks thinking about it. I have been using castor oil packs faithfully since October and noticed they had shrunk some ..😊 I pray that this isnt too painful, because i am getting Lidocaine numbing shot (which i know hurts?)😢.. hopefully it numbs it good enough where i barely feel the needle to do the actual biopsy.😢 i also pray its not malignant!!!
I HATED the biopsy and feel like the numbing did absolutely nothing for me. How did your FNA go? Hopefully it wasn't malignant. Having that anxiety isn't fun.
I've been watching your journey for a while! You've come so far. Congrats on the transition to private practice. I am reading an article about that now in my final course. I start my internship next month. Your videos have been helpful!
I’m new here. Ive been a substance use counselor since 2017. Got my BA in addiction studies and have been licensed since 2021. I’ll have my MA in advanced addiction therapies in March yay! Just applied to a MSW program because it seems like there are so many more options and higher pay. How long did you have to wait between your MA and going private? Do you prefer MH over SUD?
Hi so I am interested in knowing the mind of a person with mental and personality disorder and I want to treat them a and understand them better but I am also open to talk with criminals who have some psychological relation. Thank you for speaking about this career field. I have a B.S. in Criminal Justice and I'm currently in school for my M.S. in Forensic Psychology. I love the fact that there are so many opportunities within this field.
