Thank you, Step1 and Step2 tips solved the problem. I will add: In older systems neeed to install Windows 6.1 KB4474419-V3-X86 (X64), -Sha 256 control signing for application. Windows 7 32bit SP1.
This was years ago. And my monitor now is 1440p. Firefox certainly not pleasant to see in 1366×768 monitor. But no problems in 1080p or 1440p monitor and higher.
Hi @Claywheeler, thanks for the video. How can I get my graphics card detected in Hp Zbook 15 laptop. Couldn't find the internal network adapter boot in my bios
@@ClayWheeler ok actually this video is great can i ask your question I have a dell laptop i7 6th gen 16gb ram So can i play assassins creed unity with exp gdc
Let's make this faster. Open your Laptop, and then open up DXDIAG . Basically just click Start and type DXDIAG. Record everything using your Phone, and then upload it to your own Channel. I will comment there if it can use External GPU or not
hey, I'm in trouble I have a lenovo thinkpad e540 laptop. I change the processor from intel i5 4200q to i7 4810mq it's running great with the laptop then I decided to buy a EGPU for the laptop I brought a RX580 and a Mini Pcie riser and a 500watt power supply. Sadly no matter what I did it's not working If you can please help me to figure it out
Unfortunately no. That system too old to use GPU dock. In fact, you better build a cheap PC instead of using that Laptop. You can build a better PC for the price of this GPU Dock alone.
@@ClayWheeler mey I use that gpu dock and try to install DDR2 graphics card Or PCI slot which supports gddr2 Is it possible? Does GPU dock support? Mey you tell me?
I got same eGPU and rx590, but GPU doesn't pops up in device manager. And I got no internal network adapter boot in boot options. 😢 *I fixed it, my psu wasn't power on. But everytime I'm trying to use GPU my system bsod, I got no idea how to fix that. 😅
Hi, this Is an excellent video, congratulations. I have a doubt ¿Can I have connected a mouse and a keyboard with external gpu? Did you play with an external keyboard? I have installed an RX 550 4gb with drivers but screen Is black, the external screen is VGA with an extension to HDMI. I don't know what else to do, hope you or somebody else can give me an advice, thanks
hey! Can you explain step by step how to diasble the dedicated GPU and PCI controllers? I got a GTX960m and wanna use a GTX1660 super but can't get it to work it show's up in device managed but still getting error code 43 and now it's 31 again, saw a commend below that i have to disable controller for it and such but no idea how, i'm on a Lenovo Y700 that's upgraded a bit with 32GB ram and it has a i7 6700HQ and a GTX960m a 2TB SSD
Hello, I loved your video, and I have something similar. It's the same version of the EXP GDC v8.5c. I have an HP ProBook 4440s laptop, a 400W ATX power supply, and an RX580 8GB graphics card. I connect everything correctly, but when I try to start, the laptop simply doesn't boot. The screen remains black, the LEDs light up, the graphics card powers on, but the computer doesn't start at all. Is there something wrong with the compatibility?
With mPCIe version? Try to unplug the eGPU mPCIe-HDMI cable from the dock, but let the mPCIe stay connected to the Laptop. And then just boot. If the boot is successful, try to uninstall the AMD Radeon HD 7650M using DDU Display Driver Uninstaller. And then restart, go to BIOS. Check for something similar to this video about booting from network adapter boot. After that, replug the HDMI to eGPU dock. Try to boot again. If it fails, you might have accidentally flipped the Physical switch (or maybe the seller has toggled the switch) on the eGPU dock. If it hard to reach, use needle to move the switch
Hey how can I fix this my EGPU fan is working and when I connected it on HDMI it has no display and my laptop monitor is on supposedly it is working when the EGPU is working it worked yesterday but when I opened it today it doesn't work anymore help please

Hey, this video is the most informative one I have ever found on this mater, I recently acquired the EXP GDC V9.0v and have a GTX 1650. My laptop has a m.2 slot that seems to run on x4 speeds (the one I use for the m.2 m key) and I also could have compatibility with the ngff key. I have tried to get the drivers to work for a while but I cannot get rid of the error 43 code, the dock and the card are detected but I just cannot figure out how to get this thing to work at all…should I try setting my display to an external monitor so it can work or is it more of a hardware issue rather than a driver issue? Thanks if you are able to read this, I am desperate for help :(
@@ClayWheeler Update on the matter: I used a system scanner to determine exactly which PCIe interface I have and I came across that I have a PCIe v2.0 (5.0 GT/s), my laptop is an HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx. This PCIe bus appears as dissabled thanks to my Intel UHD Graphics 620 (slot is not used at all also), though I saw a tutorial where the m.2 at x2 speeds can work but restraining the capacity of the eGPU, I cannot ger the system to let the eGPU work. I am not sure this version of the beast works entirely for this laptop and 2.0 PCie m.2 slot, not sure if it is a GPU issue or if it is the m.2 itself (dunno if I must disable my integrated graphics card for it to work either). On regards of the email, better not expose myself, sorry.😅 Thank you for replying despite the time lapse of this video, hope some of this information can bring more light to my case, really appreciated.

None of External GPU dock in existence have x16 Lanes. Even the Thunderbolt eGPU. But in general, these products are either PCIe Gen 3 x1 for mPCIe & Express Card, Gen 3 x2 for NGFF, Gen 3 x4 for M.2 If you check the pinned comment, especially for RTX 3070, it will work despite it is physically connected to PCIe Gen 3 x1

78% Performance loss if compared to Desktop Core i3 2130 + same GPU. That's with mPCIe or Express Card With NGFF, 60% Performance loss With M.2 35% Performance loss And by the way, M.2 performance is way faster than Thunderbolt 3 or USB4
