This Video talks exclusively only about Mini PCIe Beast EXP GDC mPCIe eGPU.
00:11 Disable the Windows 10 Driver updater feature. You can use a 3rd Party app, or even DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). The GOAL Here is to make your Laptop not instantly forcibly Downloading and installing Drivers Updates.
01:05 Must updating the entire Laptop's internal Drivers before assembling eGPU. I suggest using 3rd Party app called ioBit Driver Booster.
02:00 How to JumpStart 75 Watt GPU if you're using a Cheap Power Supply. I still recommend a Decent PSU with a True 8 Pins PCIe Power Cable, so that it can supply a stable 150 watt, with Wattage Spikes of 75 Watt GPU in case it happens. Don't use the White Cable merger from EXP GDC to supply 75 Watt, it is very unstable!
02:58 How to use a Cheap PSU anyway if you're on Tight Budget. REMEMBER The PCIe Cable Actually only 6 Pins, with the additional 2 Ground Pins. Hence it can only Supply 75 Watt, not 150 Watt!!

04:55 Must Detach 2 Pins from the PCIe, to make it only 6 Pins going to the eGPU. This rules only applies to Cheap PSU. A good Branded PSU like Corsair, Seasonic, ThermalTake, will not have this Problem. You can simply Plug 8 Pins PCIe from a Good PSU directly to the eGPU.
05:26 PSU JumpStart Test 3. In Theory, if you have an EXACT 75 Watt GPU like GTX 750 ti, GTX 950, GTX 1050 ti, GTX 1650, the Fans should be Spinning immediately. But sadly I don't have a 75 Watt GPU for this video.
05:56 Mini PCIe mPCIe Cable Failed Detection Workaround. It is done by using a Masking Tape or Electrical Tape to isolate a Certain Specific Pin. The Possible Pin to cover is Pin 2 OR Pin 22.

hey, I'm in trouble I have a lenovo thinkpad e540 laptop. I change the processor from intel i5 4200q to i7 4810mq it's running great with the laptop then I decided to buy a EGPU for the laptop I brought a RX580 and a Mini Pcie riser and a 500watt power supply. Sadly no matter what I did it's not working If you can please help me to figure it out

Hey, just wondering. I had my v8.5c hooked up to my GTX 960 and it worked. Updated my laptop's BIOS and that's where PCI-e stopped detecting. Works fine when I plug back in the wifi card but nothing for the eGPU. Any recommendations?

Whoah I didn't expect that. I don't know how to deal with it being undetected after BIOS update. Do you know the BIOS Version before you update it? I don't know if it's possible to downgrade the BIOS or not.

My Acer laptop from 2015 (i7 5500U) seems to be boot with the rx5500xt in the NGFF wifi slot. Would ngff slots also be effected by whitelisting?

Hi everyone, my case: Laptop HP pavilion 17, ACP AMD A10-5750M, egpu gt730, minipcie, external monitor. The laptop can boot and show on monitor via the egpu, but always show ACPI BIOS ERROR, and restart. Have tried many way: update bios, reinstall window, hotswap. I try to boot with kali linux, egpu works well. Any suggestion for me, thanks.

you are kinda wrong on the psu those two extra pins in 8pin pcie is just for sensor in gpu that tells gpu it can draw more power from psu as you can see all 6 wires go to GND and 3 wire goes to 12v+ same as 6pin where 3wire goes to GND and 3 wires go to 12v+ if your wire guage from psu is good enough and can handle the 150w you be fine

First of all, the 700 watt PSU at $15 is absolute joke. It even has coil whine when touching 100 watt load. I'm using it for this video because it's cheap and thr GPU doesn't pull more than 80 watt because limited by PCIe Lane at 2.5 Gbps

@@Iamaveryseriouspersonhonk it is possible that the mPCIe slot is not sending any signal upon start up. I have several suggestions for you. Try to put back the WiFi Adapter, and then try to go to BIOS. Look for the settings "as described in this video" OR try to boot the Laptop normally, and make sure the WiFi is still working as normal (like connec to internet with WiFi) Now, put the Laptop to SLEEP.MODE don't Shutdown. And then, Take off the WiFi Adapter, and put back the mPCIe cable. Let's see if that possible

ROG G15 had so many variants released across 5 years. Anyway, if the connector is mPCIe, Express Card, or NGFF, gonna need external monitor, because if using internal monitor, the Bandwidth will be saturated by 2 way communication. The Pinned comment about RTX 3070 is different story, where the Laptop itself has HDMI input that allows video from GPU's HDMI output. If using M.2 Nvme slot, it will not need to use External monitor because the speed is faster than Thunderbolt 4

@@azzrhei is your Laptop has i7-9750H GTX 1660Ti You must look into the Laptop's motherboard if it has Two M.2 Slot or not. Otherwise the External GPU would not be possible because your WiFi adapter slot is not PCIe type signal. Can only use M.2 NVMe slot

Mini PCIe Socket type? Try to use some Tape, or masking tape. Unplug the eGPU. From the BIOS try to "Disable PXE To LAN Boot"

@@louvainmontalbo7831 any Power Supply is okay. Especially in the Last part of the Video showing the PSU Accessories. You need to JumpStart the PSU together with GPU before Starting the Laptop.

still don't work for me because in device manager, the pcie express root port still reads the wifi card, but it's not connected and when i scan for hardware change it doesn't detect it, so it might be bios whitelisting problem.

@@foxtrot3479 Whoah I completely forgot about that. Have you tried Hot Swapping? How Swapping means, you boot the Laptop using NGFF WiFi still Plugged. And then, click on Sleep instead of Shutdown. And then swapping out the WiFi with NGFF while the Laptop is in Sleep mode.

@@ClayWheeler I am using the nvidia 1060 6gb,other things to note, the GPU is detected in the device manager but sometimes it dissappears, sometimes it comes back with error 31 and sometimes it comes back with no error but not detected in task manager or is able to display to external monitor. My initial thoughts is that something is wrong with the power supply, maybe not enough power is being delivered since it is a cheap generic psu. I don't think that is the case anymore tho, I think it is something else.

@@freetohplays2533 While the GPU and everything else is still connected, Try to UNINSTALL Everything related to That NVidia GTX 1060 So using DDU Display Driver Uninstaller. BUT Before that, try to download NVidia Driver from December 2020. Which means Try to NOT use the Latest driver for GTX 1060. After you uninstalled using DDU, try to install Driver again normally using that December 2020 Driver

For flashing BIOSes try talking on BIOS modding forums...there's a good chance somebody will know how to mod it to remove whitelists (also enabling hidden BIOS features). The only thing you will need is an USB stick.

Yeah for that matter, I will need to buy another secondhand Laptop of different brand than what I already have in my possession. Interestingly, this Problem only occurs on Laptops before 2017. And then, the BIOS problem never happened in any of Lenovo ThinkPad Laptops, be it old ones or new ones. Probably because ThinkPad are always designed with limitless industrial device combination in mind. No surprise if it can work instantly with any kind of eGPU. Troublesome old Laptops are typically still using DDR3 RAM, like Lenovo non-ThinkPad, Asus, HP, Acer However most new Laptops that already use DDR4 RAM can use eGPU without messing with BIOS. Thanks to M.2 NVMe slot or NGFF slot. It can use eGPU without any problems.

@@ClayWheeler I had an IdeaPad with this mPCI-E card whitelist problem and had to change the wifi card because the internet was painfully slow and the signal strength was abnormally low (it was due to the main channel antenna wire being cut and its board missing). And since I was going to change the wires anyway, I decided to upgrade from b/g/n to ac. This is how I discovered the whitelist. And as far as I know, ThinkPads don't even use BGA CPU sockets, which means you could swap the CPU if you'd like to. So I see your point about the ThinkPad series not having this problem, I mean why would you whitelist the wifi module if you don't even wanna solder the CPU on the motherboard?

@@Gabian650 AFAIK all ThinkPad after 2017 -which means the ones that uses DDR4 RAM- the CPU are soldered and permanent, to this day. Even the last 2 years version of ThinkPad from 2015 & 2016 that still using DDR3 RAM had the CPU already soldered. But it doesn't change the fact that it is still good for industrial device. And of course eGPU. As for whitelisted BIOS on other Laptops like IdeaPad, I don't really understand the purpose in the first place.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Minimum Spec are: For Laptops: CPU MUST BE 4 Cores 8 Threads. in my Laptop it is only 2 Cores 4 Threads. Not recommended for RDR2. You need something like Core i7 2670QM For Desktop: CPU Must be 4 Cores 4 Threads, like Core i5 2500K if your Laptop don't have 4 Cores 8 Threads, you cannot play GTAV, or RDR2.

I have a dual-core CPU and AMD a6 dual-core, with VGA onboard, can run this game in 22fps normal setting 720p I have an Asus laptop i7 4700hq with gtx 760m but I want to use external GPU what you did I see on this web its higher GPU is GTX 980 SLI www.instructables.com/External-GPU-for-Laptops-Using-EXP-GDC-Beast/ but you using 1660 that is wonderful no one RU-vidr tech update about exp GDC

@@bucengebed6931 for me, anything below 60 FPS is considered Unplayable experience. But if you have Asus Laptop with Core i7 4700HQ that should be good stable above 60 FPS at all time. Because Core i7 has 4 Cores 8 Threads. Anyway don't play GTAV or RDR2 on Laptop with Less than 8 Threads CPU. Because it is QUICKLY Killing the CPU Silicon.

@@bucengebed6931 4 Cores 8 Threads with eGPU should be okay to play games for a long time. 2 Core 4 Threads is NOT OKAY for heavy games like GTAV and RDR2. Anything like CSGO, Valorant, Dota 2 is still okay with 2 Cores 4 Threads
