Watch me get so fixated on a subject or project that I obsess over it (getting stuck in a waffle square). Instead of my mind being capable of multitasking like a bowl of noodles, I get stuck in an individual waffle square.
Another option is you don't need to spend all the money on the fully kitted out kit with MOST adaptor. If you buy a new head unit with in-built amplifier you can wire direct to the the speaker wires. The MOST adaptor doesnt allow you to use the front- rear fader. So maybe just buy the double DIN fascia adaptor @ 4:55, the ISO power lead adaptor harness for an LR3 / Discovery 3, the steering wheel interface @ 5:47 , the aerial cable adaptor, a MOST bypass loop adaptor, and the double DIN mounting cage @ 5:13 , and wire your speakers direct. Maybe even put a new amplifier under the seat.
@ 15:16 thanks heaps for that detail on which setting to use on the adjustable side brackets. I set it up exactly as you detailed and it worked perfectly first time. 👍
Brilliant! Very detailled, slow enough to follow up and to understand everything, very precise. Perfect sound and video quality. I am sure that this was a lot of work and effort. Thank you!
MIKE, THIS VIDEO IS SO DETAILED AND YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY I'M GOING TO TRY THE INSTALL. I HAVE A 2006LR3 SE I BOUGHT IN 2008 WITH 30,000 MILES FROM A LEASING COMPANY. THE CAR NOW HAS OVER 260,000 MILES ON IT DOES NOT BURN A DROP OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND THE ONLY MAJOR WORK I HAD TO DO WAS REPLACE THE HEATER COIL. THE BALANCE WAS JUST REGULAR MANTAINCE. ILOVE THIS TRUCK AND THE FAMILY SAYS THEY ARE GOING TO BURY IN THE TRUCK. ONE QUESTION HOW WOULD I WIRE A WIRELESS CARPLAY ADAPTOR INTO THE UNIT. THANK I LOVE YOU VIDEOS PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING.
In this video I review a wireless CarPlay screen. You can easily connect it to the existing stereo auxiliary jack in your LR3. I cover that in the video: Carpuride W903 HD Touchscreen Display - Complete Install & Review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PMzvrbOHFb0.html
Hello. I bought a beautiful 2005 lr3 girl this week. She had been out of action for over a year. I had problems with the ignition coils and I already solved them. Now the engine runs perfectly smooth. An error P783 started to appear. Could you tell me if the procedure you did in the previous video solves the problem? Another question is, how much would you charge me to do this work for me? I'm in Eagle Mountain - Utah. A huge thank you for the videos you make. It helps me a lot to understand my new "girl".
sorry for a dumb question since I am totally new to this - it seems to me that if you want to use this for navigation, you need your phone to be running the entire time and the google maps is running on your phone as well. So, you would need the phone to be powered as well. Am I missing something? Thanks v much for your excellent and detailed video
Yikes. I don’t envy you. Have you checked Atlantic British website? They have an extensive selection of hose kits: www.roverparts.com/belts-hoses/kits/HOSEKIT106/
Take the pressure test cap off the overflow tank and your coolant would come flying out. Just like putting a straw in your drink and putting your thumb on the end of the straw. Pull the straw out and the liquid stays in your straw. Remove your thumb and the liquid come flying out. I knew when you tried pumping up the pressure to get the coolant to drain before you removed the water pump it would come gushing out. Love your video and thank you for the information. Peice Patrick
Was hoping this would be a quick stopgap solution until I can get a GAP tool... doesn't look to be so. Got a transmission job and other repairs/maintenance items to do on my newly acquired '08 RRS S/C. Biggest issue I'm dealing with is transmission adaptations and changing tire size so my speedometer is correct :)
@@wafflesquare Agreed... I'm likely going to do that since I need to mess with some of the CCF's. Someone monkeyed around with the configs on my car after it was wrecked so I need to bring it back to factory/virgin configuration.
When you took the plastic shipping part out of the new Air strut brass fitting how tight did you make the new brass fitting before pressing the airline into it? It looks like maybe you just did it hand tight
Great video! Replaced one of my 08 RRS air struts in about 1 hour! One note: Save the brass air fitting from the old shock. And save the plastic insert that comes with the brass fitting on the new shock. I found the brass fitting delivered with the new strut did not have the same tolerance as the OEM fitting and leaked during a bubble test. (I.e., it was very easy to slide the pneumatic line into the new brass fitting and difficult with the old one). Once I installed the old brass fitting into the new shock using the the plastic insert, pushed the pneumatic line in with a bit of force, the bubble test was good, and the shock is keeping pressure. I'll know more in about 24 hours!
According to the RU-vid analytics, the “average view duration” for this video is 5:53 minutes and it’s over 36 minutes long. I have to edit videos down or people won’t even click on them.
@@wafflesquare oh you're all good, I just got upholstery in the mail for my Tacoma, and was trying to see what others were doing for the headrests. I made the decision to leave the factory cloth on the headrest and put the leather over it, if the cover wasn't like glued to the headrest foam?? Then id definitely take it off
Wait no that's silly, I hate to say it, but your audience for this video is definitely people whom are reupholstering their Tacomas, I don't even have a second, I have a third gen and this video helped me.
Thanks Mr. Greats Video A lot Details , so Right Know I Can To Do May Oil Change Transmission Services . do you Are The Best Of The Best Do you Can To Be Mechanic Teachers .
YOU KEEP IT SERVICED AND IT WILL RUN FOR EVER. I BOUGHT AN 06 IN 08 WITH 30,000 MILES I NOW HAVE OVER 260,000 AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PUTTING IN A NEW HEATER COIL I ONLY HAD TO DO REGULAR MAINTENANCE

@@wafflesquare I did the solenoids and filter but I didn’t reset the adaptations will the car drive normal in a couple hundred miles or is it mandatory to do the relearn procedure and reset adaptations
We had just picked a 2014 170 and got it home and kids took off with it and ran threw tank of gas but had to keep choke on at idle even when warmed up and wouldn't idle. This farm boy knew that wasn't right. thanks to this video and your carb video on giving the quick info I needed on how to set the carb. The carb was all out of wack and put it back to factory setting and now the unit runs like a top!
Hey I have a question. So basically I only had one original key to begin with and before I had time to make copies the key fob got ruined to the point that the immobilizer doesn't even work. I'm told to take it to the dealership where they can program a fresh key in this scenario. They keep trying to push a factory $400.00 key on me saying that the generic ones might not work or they aren't as quality. So yes I agree they might not last long and they aren't as quality. My question to you is do you have any idea if maybe a generic one can be used in this scenario in place of a factory one? Or can generic ones only be used to make copies when you have an original present? I need to know if I can take a generic one there and in this lost Keys scenario they can use a generic one as an initial one instead of a factory one to copy from.... So what do you think?? So far they just tell me they can't guarantee it but that's annoying because I just want to know if a generic one can be copied can it be an original? I don't need to be guaranteed anything I just need someone to tell me logically yes it should theoretically work as an original in this scenario and then I'll get a factory one down the road
@@wafflesquare yeah my original doesn't even work at the immobilizer chip level anymore. So it goes in the ignition I turn it but the red light flashes and it does not start because I think I fried the immobilizer chip which has nothing to do with the key fob ability to unlock the doors or not. The immobilizer chip doesn't even need electricity it's just read by the ignition cylinder area. But mine won't anymore and it did right before I tried to change the old battery and solder in the new one. So I'm just wondering can a generic one be programmed and fresh at the dealership in place of a factory one when no keys are present? Cuz I don't want to spend $400 on a factory one
@@wafflesquare the dealer says they can program a new factory key from scratch no keys working but they want me to use an original and I'm trying to find out if that's because they know the original last longer or because the original is somehow the only one that's able to be programmed from the get-go when no working key exists anymore
@@wafflesquare yeah the dealership doesn't even know they just recommend a factory one because they're trying to make money for the parts department haha they literally said at multiple dealerships that we are not sure either it will work or not but we're not sure and I'm like wow all I'm asking is if the generic ones are lower quality or actually different. But that's every dealership they're usually the most flaky places on Earth but have the best computer equipment well thank you I appreciate it
Love your videos man! This one help me immeasurably I am about 90% finished and of course I got to the end of your video as I was doing the procedure and realized shit I have to raise this motor as well LOL definitely would have helped at the beginning also there's a little trick to keeping the same pan and Tube even after you cut it care to guess what it is
Instead of using a tap to clean the threads, find an M6 bolt which has a thread longer than the bolts which hold the sump on. Fit a nut on and thread it up to the head, cut a slot lengthways in the visible thread section with a small grinding disc or hacksaw, remove the nut (this will remove the burrs on the cut). Now, use this bolt to clean the threads, dab some of the fluid dripping from the gearbox onto the threads and clean the bolt after each hole you do, it's surprising how much dirt is in there. Saves buying a tap and die set and you only need a small spanner which is easier to get in past all the LR underpinnings. I'm doing a Range Rover at the moment and feeling smug because there's so much extra room.
Another awesome and concise vid man! What I find so amazing is the condition of your cars over there especially in the dryers states of the US. My LR4 is 6 years newer and being from the UK its had one previous owner in Scotland and I live in Wales so the wetter areas of the UK. Mine is full of rust and muck and is a very well maintained/good condition offering. You have hardly any surface rust on even nuts 😜
Sounds like a wiring issue then. I would test the switch witch the continuity setting on a volt meter then short across the wires at the plug for the switch. Perhaps there is corrosion on the plug contacts which needs to be sanded.
Really great vids with the Discovery man. I'm a Plumber here in the UK and having some crazy faults with my Disco so your vid has shown me how to fully refurb the valve blocks as I'm not a noob with O'rings but putting that into practice with the car is a bit 😧 so a massive thanks and sub from myself
Hey! Fantastic and very precise video with some great lighting so all is clearly visible. Must took hours and hours to produce and edit. Kudos to that! Hoping to work on mine soon as it developed shudder and juddering around 2000 revs. I got 08 disco tdv6 . Hoping to add also ‘instant shudder’ additive while doing the oil change. Don’t see a point adding it before oil change as some suggest
While having your phone hooked up to Bluetooth will the volume and skip button work because this is cool and all but I relie on the volume twist and not my phone just wondering
Hello! Great video, great content. I have a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover supercharged . I was having suspension issues last week where my vehicle was going up at a stoplight. And anytime I stop the vehicle. The front would raise up. I figured this was a leak of some sort so I took it to my cousins body shop and he assessed that the front passenger air was leaking. He replaced it a couple of days ago and everything was working properly for a day or two and now out of nowhere. I got a suspension fault on my screen and it essentially locked the suspension where it’s at and will not go up or down. Any idea what this may be? He’s going to look at it next week, but I was curious if you may know. I don’t know if you needed to program some thing after installing or if it’s a simple fix Thanks in advance
The technology in a 2018 model is likely very different than an LR3. I have no experience with those but I would start with calibrating the suspension.
@@wafflesquare in all fairness- it’s hard to find because I found very few videos on wiring any rear camera to the brake lights, and I only found one that got into more detail than just saying to attach it to your brake lights and actually showed how to find the brake light wire, but didn’t show the connection when done.
