I’ve got no doubt that the Master can kick my butt easily. Having said that I have to wonder why he’s showing such theatrical martial arts skills. It seems reckless to show techniques that people are trying to learn can’t replicate. In the end the demonstration becomes a showcaseFor self-promotion. This is disappointing given his level of skill he can easily I feel give him more reality-based demonstration why he chooses not to is a mystery to me
Makes me sad but proud watching my Soke teaching again after just leaving his funeral :( in NJ Love and Miss you Soke Eternally. Thank you for all you and your Dad taught me for many decades. I will always Love you like a Father and honor your work.\
Absolutely beautiful demonstration and much more. Love his realistic telling of what the difference is between what works in the dojo as opposed to real life situations.
I like watching videos of GM Robert Crossin, but come on, the ground fighting technique that he is showing on this video, ie escaping the mount, is absolute garbage, I mean you can't be serious about that.
It is amazing how many ethnic groups come to soak up the knowledge and wisdom of the blackamoor greats and our sensei. Why is there still so much racial animosity? Why don't these same people assist the black people in America (those who are decendents of slavery in the U.S.). Why must we still be denied the need for redress ,reconciliation and repair.
Yeah it's been this way forever. Sometimes they do it on work places. Passed down from generation to generation. Some of them aren't so bad. But some are just lacking cultural exposure period and the concept of a black man having these abilities is foreign to them.
Gosh, I understand what he is trying to get across the problem is absolutely nobody locks there arm when they throw a punch in a streetfight or any fight for that matter so best to know the boxing structure. Boxers even those who flail in the street never lock their punches because they don't want their arms caught. Best to train against snapping punches that are done in combinations that way ya have an accurate example of what really happens. No criticism just an observation. Some of these techniques can work BUT the trainee has to be able to get PAST rapid fire boxing punches in order to make them work!! Learn boxing then you can blend and be able to deal with boxing punches using parrys, slipping, etc into point blank range. To terminate the fight!
Only in our dreams. :) We'd literally need to be "faster than a speeding bullet". :) And to think how many Karateka actually think they'll be able to. :)
I did small circle with Ed Melaugh in Boston. He blended some striking and trapping principles of Wing Chun. So its kind of similar because there were lots of strikes and chops to nerve centers around the neck and sholder areas that caused a distraction to get a lock. Thats kind of what aiki jitsu is isnt it? Strike to distract and go for locks
You don't know WTF you're talking about. I studied under one of Shihan Miller's shihans, and have taken clinics with Miller. Done well, these techniques break wrists and bones like matchsticks. My shin, then a rotund guy in his 50s, was jumped by 4 gangbangers at a Stop 'n Rob store, and within a minute all were on the ground, broken. All left in ambulance.
