On this channel i dive into the visual side of champion design, explain my works and try to have a good time while climbing the mountain called concept and digital art.
W skill should be like he can pass the hitboxes abilities and basic attacks like a shade, u just cant hit im at all for like 2 seconds with no movements distortion and no effects (or maybe...idk) , and after 2 seconds he can blind people in 500-900 units with 12 seconds CD. that s a good combo with R (just an ideea)
I'm not too sure about his physical appearance with those floating eyes, or some of his abilities that I don't think have much synergy between them. But what I can say positively is that I really like the creepy theme you've given him, I think that's what a real nightmare should be like, and the music is amazing. Very good job on that.
W could be a kind of dodge buttom, in my opinion, current spell shield duration is very effective against many threats, durable immunity to damage like Gwen W would be broken, I suggest something like Nocturn phasing into a ghostly form for just a moment, untouchable, untargetable, immune to CC, but for a VERY short duration, like half a second, if an ability passes through his ghostly form, he can't be harmed by it again, this would be a huuuuuuge skill expression ability, probably long cooldown too, but Imagine the insane plays of a lethality Nocturn dodging an Ashe arrow point blank, seems cool
Nah for real, I think Nocturne is really good as it is now, he surely needs a graphical rework, but what you did is INSANE. I would've added a terror face on the girl asleep when we see nocturne appearing !!! That would've been awesome ! Nice work
Years ago the nerfed/bugfixed spellshields to actually block the first ability that hit them, whereas before they actually blocked every ability that struck them within a very short window (not sure the actual timing, probably a few frames/less than 1/10th of a second. This was basically the same for assassin nocturne, since you were mostly fighting single enemies who couldn't hit you with multiple abilities that fast, but was very noticeable with tankier builds when diving into the whole enemy team. I think bringing back in some more intentional form (making him go incorporeal and dodge abilities for .25 or maybe up to .5 seconds) could be fun but also very frustrating. Alternatively, you could change the buff he gets when successfully timing it. the AS is nice, but replacing that or adding MS, a dash, or even a blink in the direction of the cursor would also be fun. A blink could be nice because it means champs who blink/flash over a wall to escape HAVE to keep running, because if they throw something back at you then they're giving you the means to follow them
W: Delusion Dark strings emerge around Nocturne for 1 second, blocking enemy attacks (like jax e). During this period all auto attacks to Nocturne also Blinds the sender for a maximum of 1.5-2.5 seconds. If Nocturne is hit by a spell, the strings negate it, but they get destroyed and the Blinds turn into Nearsights.
W - He transforms to untargetable shadow but he's unable to autoattack. He can still use abilities. If he hits Q on enemy (any part) he teleports behind the enemy resetting autoattack and becoming his normal form again. Maybe like 2 charges on W with a little longer cooldown? He could also weaken them somehow with it. And he still remains untargetable while casting E.
Nocturne's abilities if reworked should probably be something similar to Zed but on steroids, more shadows. While Zed is only partially consumed by the shadow stuff which allows him to use the forbidden shadow technique, Nocturne is literally made out of that shadow juice. He is the shadow himself, completely and fully consumed by it.
This design looks really cool. One comment though is I think the design is too detailed in my opinion. It's like Nocturn merged with the void. Nocturn is terrifying because of how straightforward and primitive/simple he is. "A demonic amalgamation drawn from the nightmares that haunt every sentient mind, the thing known as Nocturne has become a primordial force of pure evil. It is liquidly chaotic in aspect, a faceless shadow with cold eyes and armed with wicked-looking blades." This suggests he takes on a humanoid form that looks like it's flowing liquid. He's scary because he haunts you like a stalker, always there until he claims you. By looking more humanoid, it allows him to be more scary. Not because you can't comprehend what he looks like, but because you're reminded of him when you look at your shadow, and you don't know who he is like a faceless man. This it's mentioned he's faceless, and only has two eyes. Nocturn is a stalker/serial killer that takes on the form of a shadow so you know he's always there haunting you, and never know who or what he is. Much like a shadow in a dark room can alarm people because they don't know who it belongs to.
this is awesome, i loved your project. but to be a lol character, I feel a little discomfort when I see him, probably because u did a character with a lot of details in a small space, when I see in-game version, their hands looks strange and hard to understand what every part of the character, he looks like more a black ball than a terrible nightmare
A cool idea for his W would be, to make is like Yasuo's Windwall but it's made of shadows and only absorbs 1 Spell shot. If it does absorb a spell he can fly to champion that had their spell absorbed.
Could have it where the W acts almost the exact same way as current Nocturne. But instead phases Noct out of existence or something, and when struck with an ability (or perhaps, auto attack.) A dark tendril would lash at nearby or attacking enemy champions.
Just a thought, have his passive (the first option) mark the closest terrain. Like a talon jump mark but with a blue glow. And make the passive activate when in proximity to these regions, for less art asset usage.
someone tag riot... the job is done for them common bring the nocturne rework again ffs ! this is a masterpiece, even Yummi is having more attention than the Eternal Nightmare...
nocturne is a shadow nightmare. and everyone has a different fear they all have a different nightmare. depending on the type of champ that nocturne ults he gets a different form. what his target fears most. what if you went with a sanity type of mechanic like you would find in the game DONT STARVE. his target slowly loses his sanity and experiences and sees things that only he can. i love the current nocturne R mechanic where the map goes dark and everyone wonders where he is, I feel like you could've heavily leaned into this fantasy of manipulating what the enemy sees on their screen. you did a fantastic job at modernizing nocturne visually but gameplay wise he is still lackluster.
Got a cool idea about noc W and his R W - shadow mode , a combo of evelynn's passive , kayn's E and Gwen's W ,ik it sounds overloaded but it fits to a shadow unit so hear me out : passive: anywhere noc goes a shadow protect him giving fog of war even when spoted on wards, noc still can be seen but cant be hit if very far away kinda like evelynn's perma invisible but u can see him moving, active: when used , it can go through anything including , walls-units and SPELLS. R- creates a big shadow zone , like from first tower to 2nd type zone , everyone inside the zone INCLUDING teammate except nocturne , they all lose track of their character, but enemies also lose control- they move random places ( the idea is , they get lost inside the shadow).
Hey man, Great job for this rework! I have good kind of an idea that is really interesting and isn't seen in league of legends. imagine a character that uses Reflection as his gameplay, for example, this champion can place some kind of mirrors. he is a toplaner and he is a little bit like gankplank. he can place 3 mirrors that the enemies can destroy. he has some kind of a straight line ability on q, such that he can shoot through the mirrors. and the mirrors reflect the beam and makes it stronger. and so since this champion has 3 mirrors, they can also arrange the mirrors such that they are facing each others and so the beam or whatever ability that is reflect through one then two then three. if it hit someone then it's very strong (since it was reflected three times) maybe his w allows them to click on one mirror and appear on one of the other mirrors. you can try exploring the idea but this gimmick isn't yet in league. addition: maybe the ult allows the character to shoot empower the beam ability such that two beams are now shot in the opposite directions as well as it can pierce through enemies i don't know but this champion really sounds cool for toplane
