Man Cain has such bad imposter syndrome. Cause he's one of the few humans alive who knows full well just how dangerous the rhings he fights are, so he knows for a fact that sheer luck cannot let one survive the things he does. Yet unconciously ignores these details and continues to believe he is all talk
Things I want more of, Ciaphas Cain and the Lucipher Blacks. Cain is fun, the Blacks are supposed to be better than the Guardsmen when it comes to equipment and training, yet I hear literally nothing about them as though they are a passing thought.
I just refuse to believe that he just died of old age. Most if not all of the enemies of man have Cain on their shit list. Hell a Dark Eldar succubus tried to kidnap him and a Daemon Princess of Slaanesh has been gunning for him even after being blown off three times.
This is why perspective matters, honestly, most shit Cain faces goes as follows. Cain: HOW DID I SURVIVE?! Everyone: Holy shit Cain just solo'ed [insert thing here] Reality: Cain managed to parry, evade, block and otherwise distract said OP'd boss while someone else gave it the finishing blow.
The Emperor probably sees who's fate can drastically effect the Imperium and keeps putting Cain in these situations knowing he has the skills to do His will. Big E is just shepharding along his best boy
So happy to hear the Avatar of Khaine finally gets a W. But my goodness this W is font size 100 in sheer scale of the W this burning fragment of the war god got.
he found the secret law to not die horribly in 40k "humility" if he keeps telling everyone its basically just luck they wont see it as a threat to be written out
Cain beating himself over the head thinking he is a failure when in reality: 1. Is extremely witty 2. Down to earth, able to come up with most of the time logical or rational decisions 3. Good with the sword (seriously he kept a duel with a WE on his own) 4. Not just charismatic, but empathic, it is not just his luck saving him, but the Valhallans *actually caring and aiding him* whenever he needs help 5. Despite getting into shitty situations he does not back down from them when he is in the thick of it 6. Apart from having a Blank as a bodyguard, Cain has an extreme sixth sense for danger
They need to get them back and add their kind of equipment to the Guard. Not exactly the same kind or as powerful. But still better than what the guard regularly have now That's made to be super cheap and pretty much disposable. Although I'm not dumb enough to say that If these guys are the best of the best that they don't deserve the best equipment. I'm mostly saying that the guard are always on the front lines. So they should probably be better equipped similar to these guys or even the Tempestus Scions and Lucifer Blacks. If there was like 5 Guard regiments kitted out like them but with mostly less functional and high grade gear, they could take whole worlds if there were orks or nids on them. I can already imagine a cheaper but highly effective version of these guys clearing out a planet with a Genestealer cult infestation. And a Stormtrooper squad would be like a more pro-suicidal version of them as kill teams like somewhere between a sane guardsmen and the Death Korps of Krieg with maybe 1 out of a squad of like 10 of them ready to idiotically charge enemy lines with no armor like a tank for protection. Especially since the Solar Auxilia here could fight off actual Space Marines themselves back during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.
