Sarcastic, yet informative, summaries of classic and not-so-classic literature and mythology, as well as major historical events! This channel is intended for use by high school students and up. Our videos frequently cover subjects of violence, assault, murder, and the books your english teachers make you read for high school. Also we cuss sometimes. Treat us as a TV-14 show and don't show us to your kids.

Wait, you had to actually accomplish something yourself? If you couldn't get in just from being related to someone rich or famous, I'm pretty sure half the politicians in the USA would never have made it.
"Mineshafts & Manticores" 11:53 Either this is just a nice rime or a good reference to episode 7 of Critical Role campaign 2. Either way I'm really happy to see you have a well established knowledge around Dungeons & Dragons' lore. Are you perhaps a player? 🧐 🏰&🐉
Well... Tiamat is now also in the Dungeons & Dragons Lore, and she is a dragon *goddess* with the head of each chromatic type. Red (fire), white (cold), blue (lightning), Black (acid), and green (poison). There are also five metalic and five gem dragon types who are considered more good or neutral than the chromatic, who are evil.
This genuinely explains why A. 99.99% of anime protagonists are either dumbass with power, or just genuine badasses, it sells, but B. I see why people get bored of it because it every anime and also why only die hard fans finish longer anime like Naruto, dragon ball, and one piece, cause it can get old (not for me though lmfao I’ve read all of dragon ball, z, and super, and watched all of them and gt, and watched and read all of Naruto and shippuden and I’m on like chapter 745~ ish of one piece can’t remember exactly wheee I’m at just doflamingo just did bird cage and everyone’s either being forced to kill each other, the straw hats, or doflamingo himself, and in the anime I’m in the mid of marine ford just my opinion though I know
I'm 16 seconds into my first viewing of this, and I just realized that the day this was uploaded is the day that I started my current reread of The Count Of Monte Cristo
My theory is that the ancient aztecs miscalculated the amount of blood necessary to sacrifice for Huitzilopochtli. So the world had been fine because there was a big surplus of blood. But now the blood is running out and that is why the world is getting worse every 3 months.
Red: [Korra and Mako] wind up in a relationship that literally nobody seems to have found all that compelling. My brain: "We popping the biggest bottles when Makorra goes canon tonight." (Posted on the eve of the series finale, when Korrasami went as canon as it was allowed by S&P)
In regards to the Boys show, while Homelander is indeed the evil Superman trope the adaptation of the show leans more into the modern corporate corruption and how that would play into superheroes, Homelander wasn’t a person who one day snapped, he was an engineered product in a lab by a company to be their poster boy, as Stan Edgar said he’s simply: “bad product”, I’d argue Homelander is portrayed as a very extreme symptom of a system that absolutely promotes being fake and selfish behaviour, it’s essentially Hollywood with superpowers and the heroes are less like heroes and more like corrupt celebrities. However the comics version by Garth Enis very much is spiteful and doesn’t get the point of Superman, I’m just pointing out that the show adaptation of the comics is trying to do something different and as such Homelander is a different interpretation of his comics counterpart
It may be relatively superficial, but at least elements of Cu Chulainn pop up fairly often in games. It was Shin Megami Tensei 3 that introduced me to Cu Chulainn, Scathach and Queen Medb, getting me interested in their myths - and I live in England, it would have been so interesting for my schools to have gone over more local myths rather than always focusing on Greek and Roman tales.
And what’s upsetting about the “Mary Sue” stereotype is that nowadays in recent years people hide the “Mary Sue” stereotype and disguise them as either Self-Insert characters or Original Characters for fans to put themselves or versions of themselves into a certain pop culture material, seemingly making the entire plot of said pop culture material revolve around them like a solar system and are often only ever made to have a sexual relationship with the most popular character of that pop culture material and it’s so infuriating because they don’t want to admit it or take accountability for wanting to bang a fictional character, so it’s when a fan makes an OC or SI that the “Mary Sue” stereotype is built for their core and often used for inhumane or indecent reasons as of now, no matter how creative or imaginative it may be.
i actually adore brutalist architecture, as someone who grew up in nyc, and watched brutalist concrete buildings get replaced by faceless, boring glass moniliths. i vastly prefer awful concrete to glass. however, i am also an enjoyer of grand central, i just have a nostalgic attachment to liminal and looming concrete structures.
