We have to be honest about Tommy White. We saw, well I saw (being at the Chapel Hill regional) what a ELITE defensive 3rd baseman was in the UNC 3rd baseman. Taking nothing away from Tommy as he improved TREMENDOUSLY on defense this year. But that guy from UNC has the natural defensive abilities on any type of ball hit to him. The ones that I saw him get that Tommy doesn’t get are the balls that Tommy SMOKED at him. He was a vacuum. Those hard hit balls, Tommy is 50/50 imo. He gets them sometimes, sometimes they get though. That’s what sets TW apart from being a top 10-15
Tommy White made 3 errors all season at 3rd base. Gavin Gallaher made 10. One weekend is a small sample size to compare the two. Gallaher has a very bright future, but White was the better more consistent 3rd baseman if we are going to compare the two. And he should be. He's a junior. Gallaher is a freshman. Is Gallaher's ceiling higher at the position; possibly, but we have to wait to get that answer. I think Tommy goes higher than 30 for what it's worth. That's near the bottom of his range.
Gallaher was amazing against us, but the very next weekend against WVU, he had an error and failed to make another play or two that he probably should have. Dude can play, but I think the regional against us was one of those weekends where everything went his way.
I don’t understand the CF pickup from auburn. Sure it gives you some depth but I don’t see it as an upgrade from any of our current players. I agree with some of the comments below. We need bats. Our bats were not consistent enough this year. Need folks with OBPs and averages if we getting portal people
Ethan Frey and Jared Jones can both play catcher. But if Bear comes back, he'll likely stay at 1B. Also Frey just doesn't feel like a starting catcher to me at all.
Yes he has, but can catch and throw at elite level. He will hit 240-260 with 15 homeruns . Team USA guy. Summer for elite talent is to work on certain parts of his game. Like to see better numbers, but it doesn't matter.
Thank you for the baseball coverage!!! PLEASE COuntinr through the offseason!!!! Find out about the moving of the bullpens and new indoor infield facilities. Thanks!
You don't. Tennessee used an opener on Fridays for more than half the SEC schedule and won a share of the league. Kentucky's number 3 had an ERA over 6 and they won a share of the league. LSU's game three faults weren't just on the pitching staff. The three run rules were bad, but most of it stemmed from a poor avg with RISP.
Musso do you or anyone reading this know where I can find Zac Cowan highlights?? I've been looking all day and I can't find anything. I tried finding SoCon tourney highlights with him pitching and his start vs LIU in the regional still no luck. Much appreciated.
@@ibelieve96 Y’all are perfect examples of why they’re called fans. It’s short for fanatics. You don’t see. He had some control issues early then dealt later. There’s a reason we lost over half our bullpen and a lot of our young talent.
I know for a fact lsu is pursuing Luke Hayden, Zach root, and billy Barlow and all 3 were starting pitchers at there respective schools so Jay is going for some starting pitching
I like to think I played in a part in the Wofford transfer. We got down 5-0 and I was chirping STILL at the game. Had some of my LSU Fans (old heads) get on me and tell me shut up and focus on the game. Fair to say I gave them some lip back. Fast forward, I moved to avoid conflict with my own fans behind home plate and started chirping at the wofford reserves and the parents. We came back, I was the one who was on the broadcast and SEC Network hushing them bc they were talking sooo much ish. Yelling “SIT DOWN SON!!” For every Tiger strikeout! Tell me if you’re a player you don’t want to come play for programs with those fans. I’ve been going to Tiger baseball since 04’. Had some LSU fans recognized me at the bar “because I bring the energy the whole game” and they were older than me and said they loved it! Reminds them of the energy at the old box that came from the fans and how we willed the team to victory at time. When you’re on the road you as a fan can and have a responsibility to be LOUD ANS ENERGIZE. Even in the first game I WAS HYPE talking to our guys and chatting sh*t when we were losing in the 7th! Let’s continue to be the best college fans in the country!
Coach Johnson talked about rebuilding LSU’s roster on Tuesday, he has put his plan into action adding Chandler Dorsey, Luis Hernandez, and now Wofford’s Ace Zac Cowan. who’s next…. 🔥 🐅
