The player that disappointed me in the regional was surprisingly Tommy White who was freaking swinging at everything no matter high or out of the box

Yea I agree but in a few weeks/months and into the future all we'll truly remember about Tommy White (at least for me) is he's an LSU legend, that was lethal with a bat in his hands, became a stud defensively, and most importantly was a big big part of bringing another national championship to the program. Can't wait to see Tommy Tanks in the big leagues

His swinging habits/philosophy will not carry him long in the MBL.

With summer cape league, recruiting, TRANS Portal, and fall ball....I think you can cover baseball year around. No other Lsu podcast does that.

Man, this season had so many ups and down, still they were entertaining. The way it ended was painful because they were leading the last game for so long. Obviously our bats disappeared at the worst possible time.

Who are the two LSU players that have already entered the transfer portal? Kling? Is Jared Jones headed for the MBL?
@ivansalazar5448
@ivansalazar5448 25 дней назад
Why are we expecting a lot of roster turnover?
@MichaelChapmanVisuals
@MichaelChapmanVisuals 25 дней назад
Here's why - all the BAD news: Fully EXPECTED to go pro: White; Jones; Jump; Holman. (We can hope that Jones returns, but it's simply not likely). Exhausted eligibility and CANNOT RETURN: Travinski (had a really bad year); Milazzo; Bingham; Little; Helmers. I think Ackenhausen is done too. That's already NINE off the team, including your (by far) two best pitchers and almost all of your home-run production - as well as leadership players. Yikes. Draft Eligible (so you can figure to lose some of these): Hurd; Herring (if we lose him it's really bad); Braswell; Pearson; Kling (please just GO!!!!!); Ulloa; Loer; Guidry. Finalizing the bad news: Brady Neal, IMO, is not a fiery player, he is soft. He plays casually and doesn't hustle to first base on run-outs. We could do so much better. Kling is bi-polar... completely excellent on defense, but absolutely atrocious at the bat... an AUTOMATIC OUT. I pray he does not come back, and I'm baffled why Jay still keeps trying with him. Jay inserted him too early the other night, and sure enough, Kling came up in a crucial spot late in the game with runners on, of all people. I knew it wasn't going to turn out, and it didn't. He was not competitive at all in his at bat (it was pathetic), and the side was retired. The GOOD NEWS: A) Milam, Brown (the idiots who are criticizing him for that one play don't understand baseball and his contributions all year - I have no patience for that kind of bull$hit), and Larson are all excellent to extremely solid players Jay can build on. That's three of nine batters and three of eight fielders. Problem is, not much on the roster to replace the other positions. Frey? We can only hope he'll make a decent DH). B) They have a really good incoming class, that if the draft doesn't devastate, can maybe contribute a couple of starters - but they will be freshman who make freshman mistakes. C) MAYBE one of these return: Jones, Braswell, or Pearson. (Jones is the most prized of these). If more than one return - it's a big plus. MAYBE Chase Shores has a miraculous return similar to Jump's after his surgery. D) Portal: Jay will have to do absolute magic in the portal to find: 1) Pitchers - especially starting pitchers - and that's hard to do in the portal - and so far this year there's not much in the portal that raises eyebrows; 2) Power hitters (home run power): 3rd Base; Left F; 1st Base if Jones leaves; Catcher (I'm not high AT ALL on Neal - just for his (lack of) effort. Summary: as big of a replacement year Jay had to work on after last year - this year is even bigger (and that's hard to believe). But, that's the reality. As badly as we are going to need hitters, the pitching is my big concern. Jay can pull it off, and I think to a large extent we will be good next year - but our fans who expect SOOOO much, need to calm it a bit - for now. One last thing, and it may be the most important: who's going to be our "old" players with all of the experience and leadership. That's going to be a critical component that must be addressed.

@ivansalazar5448
@ivansalazar5448 25 дней назад
Honestly, I don't think Jump, Holman, will be really high picks in the upcoming MBL draft. Tommy White will need to improve much on his swings at bat during his double or triple-A tenure. Our 1st. baseman would benefit from another season at LSU.

Reposting this from my post elsewhere: Pitchers worry about injuries (don't dismiss this - this is a VERY real issue) and don't want to risk not getting their signing bonus and a contract. Besides, according to MLB draft projections, here are LSU's top draft projections: White, 15th pick (1st Round) [There are 30 MLB teams]; Holman, 48th pick (2nd Round); Gage Jump, 60th pick (2nd round); Thatcher Hurd, 112th pick (4th round); Jared Jones, 119th pick (4th round). I hope they ALL stay, but that's just fairy tale thinking. To believe otherwise is to not understand these players' lifetime dreams and economic reality. It's not just about LSU baseball - other issues are often bigger in these guys' lives.

Jay Johnson needs to get 5 starting pitchers and better quality relievers instead of just 2 starting pitchers!!! Needs to quit recruiting draft eligible sophomores and recruit at least 3 year players!!! You get a player like Jarred Jones in two years he’s gone to the MLB
