Bought my first baseball cards in 1967, at Douville's Grocery Store in Neche, North Dakota. In the summer of 1968, my Grandfather George "Stuke" Stockton, family nickname, bought me a box of baseball cards. I remember sitting in his front porch opening the cards and going thru them. Sorting out the regular cards from the inserted game cards. I never really stopped collecting from that point forward. I have a permanent collection; semi-permanent collection and I buy sell and trade to support my hobby interest. My goal is to share my enjoyment of the hobby on this channel, with whoever is interested.
And yes, I still have that set of 1968 Topps game cards from that afternoon.
This is quite the Killebrew collection! I love seeing and learning about cards that I’ve never seen before. Congrats on owning these cool items. Have a great weekend!
Like #8, Willie "Pops" Stargell in the house of cards! A slaughter for sure! My mom loves collecting native American items. Really cool reveal Scott! Great additions to your collection! Enjoyed your video and always love learning new things in the hobby. Thanks for sharing 👍👍 Two thumbs up and Peace pipe out kemosabe ✌
@@stuke1976 He was my childhood idol. I got to meet him at a card show back in 1987 and still have the ball he signed. He shook my hand and told me he liked my Stargell stars on my Pirates hat. I was so Star struck that thank you was all that could come out of my mouth. Wish I could have said more to him.
Howdy Stuke ! Great info on old post cards. The Mount Rushmore Indians. In the 70's, lessons on Indians were a big part of every school year, less emphasis on pilgrims. Have fun at the Market ! C ya !
Scott, I can’t believe that I missed this video when you posted it. This is a wonderful Killebrew collection! You have some extraordinary items. One of my favorites is the original Hartland.
Nice Detroit Tigers hat , different condition cards , Sam Sanders , Tony Banfield , George Blanche , only 1 question do you have any hall of famers in this condition like? Johnny Unitas , Paul Hornig , Tom Fears, Dick Butkus, Jim Brown, Broadway Joe, Don Maynard , Chuck Bednarik, Bart Starr, Bobby Layne, Ya Title Darryl Lamonica and George Blanda any of these players any years in that condition?
Great acquisition, Scott. I wonder how many cards, items depict Babe in a Braves uniform or cap. Your new pickup looks to be in excellent condition! Congrats!
It doesn’t decode the phrase eat more Quaker Oats does it? I used to own a Baby Ruth bar before I ate it. Seriously, great pick-up, thanks for sharing and Good Collecting👍❤️
Its sad that we lost both Willie Mays and Orlando Cepeda in such a short amount of time, they are definitely hands down some of the greatest players the game has ever had! They will never be forgotten ever! Thanks for sharing!
Nice pickup Scott. I got one of those a couple of years ago as I wanted an example of Ruth as a Boston Brave and the 4 in 1 Goudey showing him as a Brave skyrocketed so I chose this.
You know i always liked the Babe F'in Ruth for some reason? Nike job Stukesie on the Oats pin a Great score Should keep you warm on the cold winter nights. Enjoy them my handsome friend
