Nice piece of history! 🇨🇦 Cool, that you had the opportunity to talk to a baseball rival from your little league playing days. Thanks for sharing, Scott
Love it! Thanks for sharing that. The Sleeman name is actually all over Guelph with the brewery (resurrected after the initial closed) and the Guelph Storm hockey team play out of the Sleeman Centre.
That is very cool. Fun fact Sparky Anderson played for the Toronto Maple Leafs as well. Babe Ruth also hit his first pro home run in Toronto as well!!!
Wow Scott, you were an international baseball player. I have a Harpers Weekly woodcut from similar period of the Providence Grays, a Rhode Island team.
That’s a really interesting item. We play Canadian team here too since we border Canada. My oldest son just played a double header against a team from Niagara Falls last weekend.
Thanks Andy! Two sports too. We played High School basketball in Canada, couple games. The basketball lines on the floor were not the main outline on the floor like in our gym.
Like #M Jordan. 1874- Wow. Great Sketch! I wonder if the old coot Harold Ballard owned that team-lol. Cool story and piece of baseball history. Thanks for sharing and Good Collecting 👍👍💗💗ps. what position did you play- my guess, catcher or middle infield.
When I was in Little league we played teams that were part of the same area , town and same league? you were allowed to travel not us!!!! very old ancient Baseball is correct!!!
