Its sad that Willie Mays passed but he will never be forgotten ever! His legendary legacy stands firm and tall! I agree that Griffey Jr. is one of the greatest living former players still around today, his legacy is absolutely huge too! Thanks for sharing another great vid!
Nice little tribute to Willie. Your memories. Always like the Willie disc. Greatest living pitcher is Koufax i would think & perhaps everyday Pete Rose or Reggie Jackson & Griffey Jr.
I enjoyed the Willie story Scott. Griffey is a great choice! But Barry Bonds will be there for me as well. Even though he may never make the hall. I've never seen that Mays disc. That was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Gave a video like. Mays was an absolute beast. Who is the greatest living player. That is a good one. Fun to think about. Griffey Jr is a great choice. My vote would be Carl Yastrzemski. Over 34 hundred hits are mind blowing to me.
Griffey is a great choice and probably my top choice too. A few other notable guys are Ichiro, Sadaharu Oh, and Koufax. Amazing what steroids do to the body. Glad it helped relieve some aches and pains for you, Scott.
Great video and lots of great ones out there. As Dodgers fan, I’m partial to Koufax but if players I’ve seen, the most exciting non-pitcher is Ricky who could just cause damage in so many ways, plus his longevity. Not sure if he’s the best, but definitely most exciting.
I compared Griffey to Pujols, Bench, Rose, Yaz and Rickey. Griffey & Pujols had the best offensive stats, pretty close, Bench 3rd. Because of the Gold Gloves, I would go Griffey Jr, Bench second and then Pujols third. Rickey said Rickey doesn't like that.
Nice memorium for Willie Mays. The greatest living player could be Jr. Can the Yaz be considered? Especially, playing with an injury plagued shoulder for the later half of his career.
Nice Giants hat!!! Candlestick Park how classic ? still nice 1967 test disks , nice Griffey, so he's top 5 all time all time in your book what about these players all time not players you saw but of all time Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Walter Johnson Ty Cobb Mickey Mantle Jackie Robinson Ernie Banks now is he still top 5 or does he move to top 10? I'm not a Ken Griffey fan I do like the Father but not a fan of the son players who I think are better than him Rickey henderson Mr. October Albert Pujolos Carl Yaztremski Johnny Bench for me to pick the greatest living player is very difficult between Yaz , Bench and Mr. October very hard to pick the greatest living player?
Thanks Mark! Mays is in my top 5 all time, with Ruth, Cobb, Josh Gibson and Ted Williams. What stands out for Griffey is 10 straight Gold Gloves and back to back 56 Home Run seasons and 630 total home runs. #3 for natural hitters. IMO, Griffey was overshadowed by the steroid users.
Ohh man. Steroids guys out of the equation.... I wanted to go with Bonds, McGwire and Alex Rodriguez. Ill roll with Sandy Koufax followed by Ken Griffey Jr.
Griffey Jr is a great pick. Closest to a 5 tool guy as your going to get to a nonsteroid using 5 tool player. FWIW I agree with you it’s Griffey Jr. for now.
When looking at the greatest living player, I throw out the steroid guys, throw out the pitchers since they didn't really contribute on the offense side as much as the defense side, and that to me leaves Griffey Jr.
