The cover band I play in in the UK (the Home Grown) play Spread Your Love and Whatever Happened to My Rock and Roll, and in most pubs it seems like the songs are not recognised by most folks. But every now and again someone will approach us during a break and say "that is such a great song" or "I've not seen anyone cover BRMC before". So hope is not all lost on music lovers.
their best album to me. it's similar to is this it but casablancas became a better songwriter and the band grew stronger as performers. the hype and insanity of the time was stupid and the media just wanted to knock the pins down after setting them up by hyping them as the saviors of rock
"He want them to sound old-fashioned and at the same time futuristic " It means the idea of the voidz was always there, jules tried in his first solo, then he accomplished that sound with the voidz . Maybe the voidz is the band he always wanted to be with. Sounds heartbreaking but maybe the strokes was always a base and the first stage to get what he really wants.
I was there! Great lineup I'll never forget getting back to my tent after GnR, and just being able to hear police helicopters, riot police and dogs One thing that is overlooked on this was that the security were throwing glass bottles from inside the toilet block at the people outside hitting several people, thats what caused the petrol bombs to be thrown in
I'm only just discovering the band and checking out the genre, it's really sad, back then this wasn't my scene and totally missed out on this. I see there are a few New Wave / Electroclash tracks slowly emerging 'underground'. Hoping this will beecome a mainstream genre again, and of course CSS returning.
@indiesleaze I'm in the UK too but unfortunately didn't know about their tour until recently. Hopefully they'll be back soon. Enjoyed this video, liked and subbed.
I can relate, those brothers do have contagiously hilarious personalities. They Admit themselves that part of what oasis is, is the attitude. They know is works. Nice video dude.
I saw them playing a tiny venue in Manchester during their UK tour last year. The sight of 249 people going absolutely nuts to The Rat was a magnificent sight and one I'll remember forever
Great video! Saw them in Vienna in 2011, without Adriano. I couldn't understand his absence and asked the bassist, a Russian guy called Ivan Volk, where the hell Adriano was. He told me 'Adriano asked me to replace him on this tour' and seemed a bit embarrassed. Later I understood why. Sorry for the question Ivan!
I'm thrilled to have come across your channel. All the bands I saw throughout the video including of the cribs are bands I grew up listening to. Very excited to peruse through your videos!
I can honestly say that in hindsight i have zero regrets about getting into Reatards instead during this era. imagine thinking edwyn collins was rough lmao
