If I am an older guy that started using glasses because of age related when looking at my phone or my computer, would I need the glasses for AR or because the the virtual distance I won't need it?
I love the Surface Pro and wished the iPad Pro has MacOS. I loved the Hardware I had in my 11" iPad Pro M1 and the Camera and Battery life was great. If it had MacOS it would be a Surface Pro Killer. This is something we will never see. Apple doesn't believe in a Touch Screen running MacOS.
This is the only ipad i would buy. The iPads crappy limited software turned me off as a buyer so I bought a Dell with windows, so it only hurt Mac's sales worse!
I’m going to steal that IPad with MacOS. Haha. I really love it, I used to think why not MacOS in a completely portable IPad. Sir, you gotta teach us how to install bootable MacOS in IPad. I hope Apple will learn it sooner than 10 years from now.
This actually made a lot of sense. I was thinking you'd pick the Zenfone in the end because of the much better battery life. But it doesn't matter if the experience of using it doesn't come close. I'm also using a Pixel (6 Pro), and would love a smaller, longer-lasting Pixel again next. I hope the Pixel 9 Pro delivers. And talking about watches: I don't need another smartphone on my wrist, but I want maximum battery power and reliability, so I'm using a Garmin fenix.
The answer is always money. Why would they change when they still have you paying for the laptop AND the tablet to get the experience you want?! They won't change as long as they keep getting your money. You've made the iPad into a great terminal. Gratz. That's awesome. If you want Apple to listen to you the only vote you have is with your wallet. Buy the Surface, and customize the UI to what you want it to look like. That's one of the great abilities Windows offers you. Windowsblinds, Classic Shell, and more are available to you to make that UI whatever you want. Apple doesn't do that at all. Plus, you may even be able to load other OS's on that hardware. Who knows? I didn't say anything.... what?
The iPad is fine with iPad OS. If you exclusively use it for movie watching, reading, extra screen. If you need a laptop for work, just stick with a Macbook. I am contented with this setup. But Apple is also at fault by putting a powerful CPU on that thing and get people imagine stuff like putting macOS.
I think im going to go a mac mini so i can keep iOS development going and a surface or an iPad (depending on what they do with it) for on the go work, can always remote into the mac mini but the surface is right now a more practical device
But I carry my ipad for book reading and big ipad is just clunky plus with Ipad I want something portable. If I want to sit down and use then I'd stick to macbook.
As a film composer, I really admire the way you edit videos and incorporate music. You've perfectly captured the struggle of justifying new gadgets for today's consumers🤣, and I am hooked! I love your storytelling-driven channel and appreciate your hard work!
If you had windows, get android. If you had mac, get iphone. Thats really it. Iphone just works on apple devices, outside of that, it was pretty much useless compare to android.
Yes my brother, tell ‘em. I been using my iPad Pro for years. I use it more than my phone. I needed to use adobe’s apps and they either don’t work on iPad, or they are horrible and buggy. I’ve been waiting for the oled iPad for years, and I’m in love with the new iPad but I didn’t like that they didn’t improve the battery life. I have the m1 iPad Pro and as a heavy user, I have to charge it every 2-3 hours! It runs out of battery so quickly and it takes forever to charge. I was very close to getting the new surface pro, but I just couldn’t. So, I got a MacBook Pro with m3 pro chip this week, and the difference is very noticeable. It charges faster, lasts longer, can handle heavy tasks, apps work better, texting is easier, and the fact that I can move the cursor from the MacBook’s screen to the iPad, then drag and drop files between two different devices so seamlessly makes me glad that I didn’t switch to surface pro. That would’ve been a huge downgrade and a big risk for my data and privacy. Comparing Apple to Microsoft is like comparing Bentley to Honda. No matter how hard Honda tries to copy Bentley, it will never be close. The services, the quality, the design, the warranty, the innovation, the user-experience is just something else.
I've never been a pro macOS on iPad guy for these reasons: 1. There isn't enough i/o. A single port isn't going to cut it for everyday use 2. macOS isn't designed for touch, meaning you're almost forced to use it with a pencil, trackpad or mouse. I like using my tablet as a tablet 3. I feel like macOS would be a horrible experience on the smaller screens I'd love it if Apple kept making iPadOS more advanced, opening more up to software devs to be able to make more advanced apps and for them to promote app development at the sane time so that iPadOS gets macOS level apps. Heck, since they're on the M series chips, even just some way for the mac to run macOS apps would be great.
Man you missed a great opportunity to ask Steve .. Wait didn’t you die ? and for him to respond “Yes i did but then I resuscitated to forgive all your Siri anger moments ‘
I just feel like. As of 2020 phones and many other forms of tech have evolved so much that the difference by year is not that much. It's just preference
You make vid watching on tech enjoyable - because you are so crazy! That said, I agree totally, MacOS should be on the powerful tablets like Surface is. Since after all, it's all ARM.
On Reddit, you’ll find so many conversations on iPad Pro users who are trying to replace their MacBooks. I totally get it. But it definitely is about money - Apple is not going to cannibalize its Mac sales for the iPad. They would rather let users pick, spend the same amount of money on either device, or then let users use both devices if they wanna use both. It’s not a question of, “can they do it”, because we know they can. They won’t.
Duet is kind of trash as a remote tool for iPad. I actually use my iPad to remote into my windows VM instead of carrying a windows laptop but I use Remote Desktop from microsoft.
I understand that they don't want to ship ipads with macos to protect sales and stuff. But I think it's criminal to lock it down so much so nerds like me can't even try to install it. Hardware should never be fully locked down like that. Same with macbooks. If I don't want to use macos, I should not be forced to. And let's be honest. If Apple allowed to isntall other OS's, more people (who are e.g. locked on windows or linux) would buy macbooks right?
This is a great invention. I am a postman I really need to test this . While wokring . Due to long hours I missed much of things which I can do only at home by computer. Trading will be fun .
I've used the surface for 3 years. The interchangeability is fun for a month. After that the form factor is getting annoying. Apple is doing right for keeping their OS where it belongs. But I do think you should be allowed to install MacOS programs on iPadOS. There's no reason not to.
