@@johnsonfarmretreatWe see all these efforts for gun control and your shooting the buck shot that reminded me of one of those efforts. During the world War there was a lot of trench warfareand hand to hand combat. The 12 GA. pump with buck shot was sent to the trenches by the allies and the damage was so bad on the troops and scared them so badly they tried to get it's use outlawed in warfare. The efforts failed and an awesome weapon for hunting, shooting, and defending the families made its mark on history. No other small arm was feared so badly. Best Wishes to you and your loved ones. Enjoy that country life with your children and have a blast teaching them the fine sport of shooting.
@@johnsonfarmretreat l love watching you out there with your loved ones teaching them all they will need to enjoy the great outdoors and to safely do it with firearms. This time does not last for ever and in a blink you'll be thinking "run that by me again " My first just turned 50 but my love of children and the teaching them is still very strong. I just have to tag along with others to enjoy it now. It was the very best and most fulfilling part of my life. You are doing great and thanks for making it possible to tag along. Best Wishes
Definitely don’t need below grade support for this shed. Most just sit on stacked blocks. This will be on nearly 6” of gravel sitting on heavily compacted soil. Very solid.
I got a used LA115 and have been cutting 4 acres for two summers. I tackle the hills cutting downhill. Haven’t had any issues. I’ll be moving to an X370 or better later this year. The property is too big for a small engine.
That’s a baby hammer so it was impressive enough that you drove it in as quick as you did and you didn’t miss and hit the wood. Heavier hammer and nail would be in there in half the swings.
I’m definitely going to invest in a grown man hammer. I do enough projects to warrant it. Plus sometimes nailing old school is just more fun than the nail gun.
@@johnsonfarmretreat definitely nothing wrong with going old school and getting more hands on with what your working on. Give it that personal touch lol
I hade done some drywalling on a house that looked a lot like that. and I know how much of a pain the ceiling in the living room is. that ceiling is a pain but when it's done right it looks great. good job
On a lighter note, if you take the bag off and flip it to "bag" it will rear discharge, don't know how much difference it'll do. You should weedeat first. I'd do that for any of my commercial mowers
Yea, my mother has a Ryobi battery push mower. It’s surprisingly pretty powerful and handled some overgrown grass she had well. Nothing like this though. The biggest issue would have been the battery would likely die every 30-40 mins trying to cut through grass this thick and tall.
I started with the bag off. The blades got caught up constantly from the thick grass (which was kind of wet too) and stalled the engine. Constantly emptying the bag sucked but it cut a bit better vs. mulching. Now that it's lower, mulching will be the move.
Hahaha!! How far is the nearest Costco?? 🤣😂🤣😂 Only kidding!! I’m am so rooting for you!! Grew up in NY, now living in the Midwest. I love visiting the city, but take me home country road!! There is something very satisfying about the quiet, peace and serenity, that one can become use to very easily. A year of quarantine, has allowed folks to realize, there’s not much we really need. Homesteading has become quite popular and I applaud you both for taking on the challenge. With patience, laughter, RU-vid, Google and good neighbors, there’s not much you cannot accomplish! I’m so excited for you and an a example that you too can easily become City Farmers and absolutely love it! 🥰❤️
That’s awesome!! “We do not mean what we say!” 😳 Should be a campaign slogan! Now you know, you have to cover up the blank spots with current newspaper and place postcards with current coins an dollars, with current what nots, a family pictures, house as it is now, a story, etc... in silicone baggies, tacked in between rafters around the house- for the next family who may knock down a wall in 100 years. And always sign installations w the installer and year! ❤️ We have loved finding these surprises and have left time capsules in our own home. The kids have enjoyed creating them!
We’d like to make the paper a part of a wall via plexiglass covering of some sort. Preferably in the office area or wall. Would be a very creative way to retain that history 😃
