About 3 years ago a friend of mine gave me his DR05 with a broken display asking me if I can fix it. Of course I told him to just forget about it after I searched for a replacement display that would fit and nothing came up. Then after a few days you uploaded this video and I was lucky enough to find it. I put the display from your link in the basket on Aliexpress and it stayed there these 3 years, never had the time and will to do the job and eventually forgot about it... just some weeks ago I found the Tascam in a box ready to be thrown along other scraps. But said hey, let's give it a chance. So the display was still available and was waiting for me in the basket, ordered it and it arrived in less than 2 weeks (from China to Romania); it came very nicely packaged, I was actually amazed, thumbs up for the seller. Installed it yesterday, not an easy task for less experienced people as those pins are tiny and you need proper equipment and a decent amount of skill to attempt this repair. I used some textile tape and hotglue to make the new screen fit better and stay more securely in place. Dettaching the new screen from its backlight plate was the most intense part lol. So yeah, the screen is alive and the recorder will soon be reunited with its owner. I'm not even charging for the repair, not only because he is a friend, but because the succesful repair itself was very very rewarding. So we would like to thank you for this tutorial, for the time you spent documenting this repair and for offering one more chance to these otherwise doomed devices. You are awesome sir!
Looking for a little help. I have a Pioneer VSX-453 receiver I just bought. The right channel is staticky and distorted, but am getting power decent power. I cleaned the pots and boards. It still sounds like that. Left channel is fine.
Could this possibly be a bad resistor? Also, it's not the input. It doesn't matter if I am using tuner, CD, ect. Staticky distorted right channel. The further I turn it up, the worse the right channel sounds.
Hi! Maybe do you know if a Sony HRV-Z1e has a kind of fuse inside? Once I put a battery turned on and off and died, even pushing reset button or, of course, trying again with another battery or charger. Seems unbelievable that this camera hadn't any protection... Thanx!
Ordening the PCB by re-uploading the files is not the best way to go. PCBway has a project section where the developer can upload the design for others to easily order. Can you upload your project in the same way? Thanks!
Thanks, Max for your detailed explanation in this RU-vid video. However, I would like to know what you think about the full purplish imaging projected from my 6 years ago Sony VPL-HW40ES projector. Please provide me with your opinion for this case. Thanks.
My MCX8000 has been a right pain. Stutter button has the same problem, the switch on the line fader has broken off. It’s already been sent off to InMusic because MCU Display was faulty, when it came back it lasted 3 months then broke again. I was without the decks for a whole summer as they had to wait for the parts. But tbf I find it works better without it, just use a laptop instead! I want to take it a part but I probably mess it up even more 🙄
I can’t get any of my Radio stations equalizer or clock to stay set , ever time I turn off car everything I set goes away .. does anyone know how to make them stay ?
have you tried connecting the pc410 with a computer? i tried it using RS232 and the PSOFT Rework Station Controller application but the result cannot be connected, maybe you can share if you have experienced it, thank you.
Make sure your RX and TX are right way around and set correct baud rate on your computer com port. I have connected it, it works, bet you can only remotely trigger it and monitor the temperatures, that’s it.
hi, very informative video. Do you know if chineese head unit devices do in the same principle? There only KEY1 (and KEY2) wires, no 3.5 jack for SWC. What voltage they are using?
Genuinely informative video man, but your diagramming had me flinching. Reminded me of a doctors script haha! Maybe take it a bit slower and dont use so much shorthand when youre drawing something to explain a new concept. Cheers
This video is great; thanks for sharing this with the world. I've found that good flux, patience, and a light touch with the iron and braid is the way to go. Here's an extra tip - clean the flux off with alcohol when the surface is still warm. Makes it much easier. If the part or board cools and the flux gets gummy or solid, add more liquid flux and rub lightly. It will help soften up the hardened flux, allowing you to get some alcohol and clean the area easily. Thanks again for this video 👍
Just wondering. Is this cable schematic also same with Blackmagic intensity Pro, the version before Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K? Cause I bought the Blackmagic Intensity Pro only just the card without the breakout cable 😢
hello sir, can you tell me what is the name of the button marked STOP and HOLD? I try to find but still not found like that, and the magnetic pipe you use for the thermocouple, thanks
By downloading the schematic and code i can send to the pcb vendor then follow along to make my own? Thanks for this video kinda excited to make one or two possibly buy one from you.
The files are designed so they can’t be mass manufactured using a vendor, they designed so you can only assemble it yourself, you can order PCB from vendor but you’ll have to assemble yourself. You can order one from me, please email maxchristensenau@gmail.com
@@MaxELECTRONICS great! I’m gonna give it a try just for entertainment/use. I’m a filmmaker so this is cool for small gigs where I’m wearing several hats. I’ll email you for pricing as it would be cool to have a custom one. Also i see your patreon. You have e some cool stuff on this channel but it would be cool to pick your brain on some stuff. Good job man!!
My vsx-329 has no sound. Since i am not a technician, the first thing what i do is the speaker setup, set channel setup auto mode. It won't bother the input, as it produce the buzzing sound from itself to test and set the volume for each channel. No buzz sound, but the center speaker has a very very soft buzz sound (need to have ear touch the speaker) which on and off each time the channel change to L C R rearR, rearL then sub. I factory reset it, then problems gone. But not after 24 hours, the same thing happen again, no sound. This time, factory reset unable to solve the problem anymore. I wish you can help to tell me what might be happening on the receiver. Thank you for the video, Sir.
Thank you for this great video😊 You were very detailed in giving the instructions, make me want to this myself now. I guess I have to look for some old board to start with.... In the past I have tried to reball a PS3 which was not succeful, hope to have more luck with you instructions. Thanks again, I will definitely subcribe to now channel ❤
Thanks very informative. My pioneer elite went into protection mode, now it’s not making a sound. The amp board seems ok. I checked every component. I suspect the audio board is not good. I tried heating up the dts chip with hot air gun but no luck. How do you diagnose the audio board?
Thanks for this video I have an issue where the audio works about 50% of the time - it often requires a power cycle or changing the input a few times before the "click" happens, and then a few seconds later audio stream starts. Does this sound like a failing component I could replace?
Hey Max. Awesome vid. I’m having issues with a Sony in a gen 1 Mini Cooper. I bought the control module adapter but it’s intermittent. Found your vid and curious: the Sony (MEX 5300) has programable functions. Like mapping a game console controller on PC. You select the function on the head unit and it prompts you to press a button on the steering wheel. Is it safe to assume I would just need to directly wire my steering wheel leads to a 3.5mm Jack and the Sony head unit would map based on resistance and as such no need to solder resistors?
For the top heater I'm using my hot air soldering station with a 45x45 bga nozzle, and for the preheater I'm using a electric grill with a power regulator, and the bottom heater a hot air gun connected to the same power regulator as the electric grill, basically I heat under the board until 100-110 degrees, then I turn on the hot air gun until 130-140, and then I use the top heater, works just fine, no burns on the pcb and no bubbles on the bga chip, the only thing I haven't figure out was the table to hold the board, I tried to find something off aliexpress but haven't found yet, do you have any tips?
I ended up ruining the cable. It was 1/4" to XLR and the connectors got damaged beyond repair. I'm sticking to heat guy, but I'll flip the cable next time
Hello my friend. If i have two different key line wires like key line 1 and key line 2 is it possible to connect to the same multimedia unit 2 controllers ???One controller the steering wheel controller and the other an i drive controller behing the gearbox. Will it work???
@@MaxELECTRONICS So in key line 2 wire isn't possible to connect a second controller for the multimedia except the one i have on steering wheel ????I want to connect an bmw i drive controller if you understand what i mean
Hi, i cannot find any replacement for my dmd chip as it is a projector with just a few units sold (Anker Mars) Does a video or imagine pattern can help un stuck rhe mirrors? At least make it better? Thank you
