It was a toss up between getting the Scorpions back catalogue on coloured vinyl and Metallica’s - Scorpions won out, but I will get these as well eventually (I already have MoP on brick red)
I have that exact same Pioneer turntable, my grandmother bought it new. I swapped it out for a technics because it’s got wonky speed control, I plan on getting it back in working order one of these days.
Man, I wish I knew. It’s been a few years since I talked to Jason, but he was happy tinkering in his garage with classic cars and doing the car show circuit.
So much for "limited" editions. I just bought all if them at my local Walmart. Limited? , limited to what? 10 million?. The limited is when it runs out and then gets repressed with the same limited sticker on the front, its limited to whenever they decide to stop pressing them. I been seeing these for the last few years at Walmart and I finally broke down and got the whole lot. Limited my ass!. I think there should be a law when advertising and selling an item as "limited" there should be a set number of pressings that a company can not exceed to classify as limited. If not then nothing is truly limited at all. It's limited to however many million more they decide to press and for as long as they want to keep pressing them.
@@BillyHurst there isn't anyone worked up, that's just you saying that. My comment is nothing more than pointing out the fact the "limited edition" is nothing more than a sales gimmick when it continues to be repeatedly repressed. Don't sell a car or a record or anything as limited edition if it's really not.
I agree with your sentiment…. I purchased each of these INDIVIDUALLY back in the 80s…. When you had to literally scavenge for them and get them one by one as I would find them periodically at some underground record store on the shady side of town. Back then, collecting these gems was a true obsession of mine in high school. I have colored vinyl (blue, green, red, clear, gold, black, picture discs,… ) of creeping death and Jump in the Fire EPs… Double vinyl albums and picture discs of Kill em All, RTL and MOP… plus demo recordings of stuff from Kill em All and RTL, 12 inch 45s, 7 inch 45s , 4lp picture disc set of an interview with Lars, bootleg concerts (including Cliffs last show) … all purchased back in ‘87-‘90… before they became popular and well known. It’s all packed away in a closet somewhere these days. One day I’ll find an avid collector who would pay good money to take them all. 🤷♂️ But therefore, yes, I agree with you… the stuff purchased at Walmart was practically “mass produced “ compared to the rare ones found back in the 80s that I have.
I recently found the original 1970 album Color Me Country by Linda Martell, the first black female country singer on Grand Ole Opry and Billboard charts. Two years ago this album was re released on orange vinyl on Sun records. It's great more people are hearing about her. She left country music because of names she was called at some shows and also the lack of promotion from Shelby Singleton. Jeannie C. Riley and "Harper Valley" came out and Linda was pushed aside!
Great to hear from you, brother. Things are going well here. Just staying very busy with the shop. We've been open 3 1/2 years and it's still a new adventure and learning process every day. Hope all is good! Billy-
Hey Billy so awesome to see you again buddy and glad to hear that you had a stellar turnout for RSD! Looks like some great releases for this weekend with a lot of vinyl debut titles as well! Yes let’s get some repressing for Duran, Duran! Take care brother and talk soon! ~ Jeff
