I was just a year too late getting my record player & missed out on some limited edition vinyl...... I did buy the sandblasted southern trendkill a month or 2 ago but didnt notice until i got home that they cut a song and the outro to another from the album. That really bummed me out. The album sounds AMAZING and my GF and i could hear guitar parts we never heard on the cd. We've both listened to this album countless times so we know when we hear new stuff.
Yeah, that was a bummer that they excluded those tracks from Trendkill. I guess in order to keep costs down and make it fit on 1 LP they had no other choice.
FYI most of these album originally only had 1 disk . So they're keeping it like it original did which is a good sign . Double lps usually mean added digital BS ( for reissues etc ) plus its from ATCO not Rhino
I have the Vulgar Display Of Power vinyl, I too was a little concerned about how it will sound on a single vinyl record but it’s one of the best I’ve bought since collecting records last year. I was so impressed that recently ordered Cowboys From Hell and I may get the other three as well, thanks for the review.
Hey Billy. .great video...I believe the pressing plant they used in France was MPO...they did the Judas Priest reissues and those were really well done. Of course the reason the volume is quieter then normal is because of the length of the album...in order the make a good sounding cut...they had to make smaller grooves to fit it all. .otherwise it would have to be 2 LP's. ..or they could squeeze it with bigger groove cuts but it would sound like shit. Take care. ..hope all is well. Mark Anthony K Projekt Gemineye
Mark, thanks for stopping in and for the in-depth comment. That definitely clears it up and makes perfect sense. I guess I never associated volume with the width and depth of the grooves, but I should have.
Since this was limited they should have done the original Far Beyond Driven Art or was that just done in Australia? I have a Australian CD box set with that art.
I bought Vulgar from my local record store today, they had all of them except for Reinventing. The only one I will not get is Trendkill since it is missing Suicide Note Pt. I. I'll just get the 2LP version.
@@BillyHurst hey man, sorry, I called my local shop and they ended up having a couple extra in the back, thank you so much for looking out for me I really appreciate it! 🤘
@@BillyHurst thanks! I see what you said, they are a bit quiet which sucks for me because I have a basic intro setup, but some records are really loud like the metallica vinyl club singles 😂
@@carvinblack awesome! I started buying new releases on vinyl around 2003. But I have gotten my fair share of original pressings I havent bought of course.
@@matthewleeduering0730 you can call the shop or contact us through Instagram, Facebook or Discogs. If you want the set and save some $ buy the bundle from us, but if you don’t want them all just go to our Discogs page and grab what you want. Thanks.
Cool reissues. My concern with mostly white vinyl is that it’s more susceptible to warping. Something to do with the lack of carbon in white vinyl which apparently makes for slightly weaker vinyl. ( so I have read) I have noticed this first hand with some previous purchases so I now avoid white or mostly white vinyl. Shipping the white vinyl over long distances is obviously a major factor for warping issues also as you can’t control the temperature that they are stored in.
Interesting. I hadn’t heard that, but will definitely look into it. My biggest concern was the sound quality being crammed onto one LP instead of two. I was very impressed though. Thanks for stopping by buddy and hope you are well. Billy-
I see, thanks. I ordered all 5 of these and they sound and look awesome! Never really listened to Pantera till now besides their hits. super stoked about these
When did you send the messages? If they came in yesterday, I was too busy packing orders to reply to messages but will get to it this morning. I have just a few left. Thanks!
I know Pantera doesn't have the greatest album covers but reinventing the steel has a terrible one, also far beyond driven always made me think of a heavy metal unicorn
Yeah, the cover for Reinventing the Steel is terrible LOL Now I will say, the diamond plate steel cover they did on the 20th anniversary pressing is awesome!
