Oregon Fly Fishing Guide at The Fly Fishers Place in Sisters, OR. Diamondback Ideal Nymph 10’10” 2/3/4/6wt, Sage ESN reels and Cortland lines. NO RIVERS or SPOTS NAMED ONLINE. Swing by the shop and I’m happy to share 😎👍
There's a bunch of different people doing fishing videos out there and most of them sound like a rock concert, rave or country music awards. Not to mention the pointless chatter. But yours are great. You fish well, demonstrate good stewardship and seem to really enjoy yourself. Thank you for that.
I really, really appreciate you saying that. I didn’t want to “make” content, just capture my journey and share it. Some days are good, some days are a grind. That’s just how this game works 😎👍
What are your thoughts on hooking a lot of your fish at the end of your drift? I'm new to euronymphing, not trying to criticize or anything, just curious. Thanks! Awesome fish!
Would you mind posting the approximate location of where you are fishing? I live in Oregon and would love for my husband and I to visit some of the areas and fish. Love your content.
This is actually a 3 day, 2 night fly fishing trip that we guide in OR. We set up the camps, cook amazing food, and guide you into some of the best fishing we know. Give us a call or email at The Fly Fishers Place in Sisters, OR and we would love to tell you all about it! 🥳🐟
Nice! Haven’t been down that stretch for 30+ years so it was nice to “ride along” with you. Whitehorse certainly got my attention back then in my old Keith Steele wood boat with two passengers and packed to the hilt for a 4 day trip.
Thanks for coming along! Yeah that rapid can definitely get you if you’re not ready for it. Congrats on conquering it in a fully loaded wooden boat! I’ll be running the gear boat for our overnight trips down there so should be more to come! 😎👍
I'll be moving to Prineville eventually and I have just taken up fly fishing and I mean brand new haven't even caught my first fish yet. Question for you though why do I have a thick orange 5wt casting line and yours is thin and clear? I've never seen fishing line like that. Thanks for a glimpse of some really fun looking fly fishing.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Blue pill, or red pill? Focus on learning that 5wt and the fundamentals. If you get bored, we can help line you out (pun intended) on tight line tactics, or as the kids say “euro nymphing”. It’s just one of the many styles of fly fishing with a totally different line and casting technique. Some people love it, some people hate it. Have fun and fish what works best for you. Welcome to the game! 😎👍
@@TroutDirty Yes I have researched euro nymphing I didn't realize that's what you were doing. It will be nice to finally start catching fish, I'm going to throw away all of my powerbait and rooster tail spinners! 😆 Cheers, thanks for getting back 🤙🏼
Fly fishing can run circles around gear fishing if done correctly, plus it’s just fun. The tactics I’ve developed have fundamentals in Euro, but everyone in different water types and regions develops their own style. I have no idea what I do now, it’s definitely not Euro, but it’s fun, effective and ethical, so I’m good. Have fun out there! 😎👍
We definitely love it out there and it’s really cleaning up. Coming back strong and natural, albeit slowly. The construction debris is an interesting addition… 🤠👍
Hey thanks! It’s actually both, depends on the season and water type your fishing there. Typically more natural stuff though. Swing by the shop and we will show you our favorites! 😎👍
@@TroutDirty agreed. I'm currently editing a video about a recent trip out there. Also, nice work with the fence stuff. It's so sad to see that kind of stuff. Cheers!
That’s awesome and thanks! As anglers and an angling community, we have these great opportunities to help keep all our backyards the best they can be 🎉🐟
