I'll be moving to Prineville eventually and I have just taken up fly fishing and I mean brand new haven't even caught my first fish yet. Question for you though why do I have a thick orange 5wt casting line and yours is thin and clear? I've never seen fishing line like that. Thanks for a glimpse of some really fun looking fly fishing.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Blue pill, or red pill? Focus on learning that 5wt and the fundamentals. If you get bored, we can help line you out (pun intended) on tight line tactics, or as the kids say “euro nymphing”. It’s just one of the many styles of fly fishing with a totally different line and casting technique. Some people love it, some people hate it. Have fun and fish what works best for you. Welcome to the game! 😎👍
@@TroutDirty Yes I have researched euro nymphing I didn't realize that's what you were doing. It will be nice to finally start catching fish, I'm going to throw away all of my powerbait and rooster tail spinners! 😆 Cheers, thanks for getting back 🤙🏼
Fly fishing can run circles around gear fishing if done correctly, plus it’s just fun. The tactics I’ve developed have fundamentals in Euro, but everyone in different water types and regions develops their own style. I have no idea what I do now, it’s definitely not Euro, but it’s fun, effective and ethical, so I’m good. Have fun out there! 😎👍
