We are a down to earth couple living in British Columbia Canada. Chad is building us our dream tiny house on wheels with his bare hands! We started the build August 1st 2019. We moved into our house in May 2020. There are a few things we still need to finish but that's ok because now we have a tiny distraction on the way. We are expecting our second child! We always knew we wanted children so the tiny house was built with that in mind. This probably sounds obvious, but originally we didn't realize going tiny would mean becoming a minimalist. We went from being what my mother would consider to be a hoarder, to downsizing everything we own into a 28' home on wheels.
Now we are in our 30's as mortgage free home owners, and we want to inspire the world to live with less. Live outside more!

I had the vid a month ago. Idk what this strain was but it was terrible. I told you that tho. Mine started with the headache so bad. Poor lil miss and her puffy eyes and cough. I’m so glad you’re better. ❤😢
This video is coming at just the right time for my family! I'm in the limbo of the standard Western medicine for treating my 16 month old. Though I have been a firm believer in treating our bodies with plants, my husband is not fully on board. So we compromise (mainly me giving in) but we're working on it... The guilt is real every time I give him tylenol or motrin...but I do try to lean more on the motrin and only when he has a fever or give him a less amount if he has discomfort. That brings me to my question of do you give your children anything for teething? I see Franny has an amber necklace...any other remedies? Any way, you're the best. I love and respect your family and lifestyle so so much!!
Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting 💖 I completely understand. It can be so tricky! I use a homeopathic brand as well for teething it’s called camillia. It’s a white and pink box. It’s always worked great for both my kids. I also do the whole frozen cloth, and frozen chew toys too sometimes and find that works too! 😉
Poor Franny looked so congested at the beginning, her little eyes were even puffy 😢 and her voice gone! Glad it wasn’t as bad as the first time. Take care 🤗
Hey Hippie Family! U hope that everyone is doing well. TFS this informative video Ashley! I got a lot out of it. Where did you get that 54321-grounding tech chart? I thought that was really helpful. Your babies are growing up so fast! I like your new hair color too. I'm a big fan of the dark brown/black color better. No matter what you do with your hair, you will always be beautiful! TFS ❤🧡💛💚💙💜☮
Hello! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed this one. I’m actaully very passionate about sharing mindfulness tips and tricks. The 54321 game is a favourite of mine. I got the chart on Amazon! 💖✌🏼
fantastic Ashley! I am 63 and have never had kids but I am so impressed with your wise parenting over and over when I watch your videos. Great stuff to share!
We get books in the mail every month from Imagination Library and we have a book called I Am A Rainbow by Dolly Parton and it's a book about different emotions and a color represents each emotion. We will have to get The Color Monster for Theo's birthday coming up! And, I Am Human!
Oh my gosh I heard about that book! Dolly also has another book, the little engine that could! It’s a modern one, old story but I think she’s started a line of books or something.
@thathippiefamily Yes! Little Engine That Could was the first one we got! I Am A Rainbow is really good! The Yoto would be great for us as well! I remember having a portable CD player I would listen to, to help me fall asleep when I was a preteen/teenager. We take deep breaths for nap/bedtime and when she's upset or scared..
I love that kids are being taught mindfulness from the get-go these days. It is a skill I can only WISH I had as a child and younger woman. I was introduced to it when I was in my 40s and it has served me well. Ashley, I can see how you are going to make a fabulous homeschool mom. You are brimming with creativity and resourcefulness and those are two qualities that go a long way towards successful home education. It's nice to have you back. You were missed! 🥰
Good way to learn we want nice fitting shoes no matter what they look like you cant tell anyone anything and a blister is not so bad of a learning curve. He will remember that bet he throws those shoes away
Ashley, I'm keeping my eye on food everywhere. Recalls all the time now, and sky high prices. I'm vegetarian, and the veggies I buy go bad so fast. I wonder when people will say, "enough". Beautiful garden, and love the video.❤
Hey Hippie Family! TFS this awesome video!😎 Ok let's just cut to the chase... load up a huge crate with lots of veggies, flowers, chicken eggs, herbs, and ship it all to me ASAP! I am sooo jealous of your garden and outdoor space! It looks awesome. And those beautiful, sweet kids too! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Oh my gosh!! How is Franny 7 months already!!! She has grown so much. And Floyd is growing up and really talking now. Love the homestead. Coming along nicely. ✨🤍
OMG your garden! How did I miss that you have such a large garden this year? It looks so healthy. Nothing beats home grown food (in my fairly biased opinion.) 😋😂
Do you have any advice for people who want kids but are terrified of the lifestyle change, and especially those who worry about the future with climate change, war etc?
Oh that is soooo good. I feel the same way honestly! I just try to remember that we can’t predict the future. Evolution continues to happen naturally, and whatever comes to the next generation is exactly what is meant to be. I hope to raise little humans who care about our planet and I do have faith in humanity! 💖
Oh Ashley, I can feel your angst in this one. I deal with SAD too and really hate it. The crazy thing is, I absolutely LOVE the dreary, gray, winter weather. You'd think I would have come to hate it by this time. Ha! Do you take vitamin D supplements? I have found them to help quite a bit. Regular exercise helps a lot too. And ya, just getting out of the house, even if it's just to walk down to the barn to say hello to the goats for 5 minutes. I love that you made this video. Sometimes I think just being able to say aloud what's wrong is so helpful. I'm with you. Do whatever you need to do to help lift your spirits up.
Hey Hippie Family! "HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLOYD!!!"🍧🍩🍪🎂🍭🍬😎 Have you tried cooking real beef liver? I like it. For me, I'm not sure about taking this beef organs supplement. But hey, Ashley if you feel good about, check it out! This was a very informative video. You did an awesome job friend! Have a beautiful day Hippie Family!❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Thank you! Can’t believe he’s 3! I personally don’t even like cooking meat usually. Taking this supplement is much easier to get all the benefits! Thanks for watching as always 💖
No not me. I like AG 1 and a good liquid fish oil I mean a great quality brand there is vegan brand made with algae or mine which is made with sardines and anchovies. Both products cost $140.00 a month by subscription but it works also AG1 gives you k2 and vitamin D3 oil with bottle and dtopper.Powder you get canister and shaker and scoop just add water.Must refridgerate.but anyway nordic naturals is my fish oil liquid form one if best omega 3 high epa and dha so its good for you.Ag1 has like just about everything and is vegan.
I have tried AG1 actually and I really liked the way it tasted. It just wasn’t for me. Something with so many vitamins and minerals doesn’t necessarily get absorbed by the body properly. But for me personally I really need heme iron. I’ve always had anemia
