Our rules do not state that it is artificial bait only. That is all I use personally but others are using minnows as especially in this hot weather it is hard to get a bite with anything other than real bait! Thanks for watching.
Thank You Sir!! I appreciate the subscription, the watch and you taking time to comment. I appreciate the offer for help. Actually going throw the SE of MO in the morning from TN to Hot Springs. At Reelfoot Lake now!
@@AsleepAtTheReel just zero it with the clip hanging, before attaching it to the fish. That small amount of weight will be added to the weight of the fish by mistake.
Make sure when you tare the scale before you start the day with the fish clip hanging, then zero between each fish. I also took the big metal piece off and used only 1 split ring.
how do you tare the scale on this? I know how on the tournament scale but have not seen that option on the Bubba. I need more learning time with it for sure. I do zero between each fish, sometimes it will show a negative number so ZERO!
@@AsleepAtTheReel You have to let the clip hang and hit clear on the Bubba. The way you are doing it, you are adding the weight of the clip mechanism to the fish weight. I know from making the same mistake.
Thank you. Oh, I think the jigs made it here today. I have not looked, just put the package in the truck as I am heading out in a few hours for Reelfoot. I feel confident that is the bag, kind of blue. I will look at them this afternoon or tomorrow. Thanks brother!
I just subscribed as my fishing buddy Reggie sent me your Facebook hoping I could reach out to you for some tips on fishing Lake Palestine. Mainly your preferred colors this time of year or under your current Lake conditions right now. Thanks. Nice work on the fish. You got on them really good for the first time on that lake. God fishing to ya. God's Blessings to you as well.
Hey thanks. What is working this time of year here are hand ties in grey ghost, BoneHead Palestine special with a 1/8 oz jig and Crappie Monster Margarita with 1/8 oz jig head. When the bite gets a little slow, I will move to a 1/16th but for the most part I am using 1/8 oz. Obviously minnows work great, but you have to keep them alive. Fish the deep water and look for structure. Brush piles are not the way to go if you are wanting big fish. They are filled with little eater fish. Your bigger fish will be in standing timber. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. I have a video coming out tonight at 6 on the difference between a Rapala scale and a Bubba Pro if that is of interest to you. There is a big difference in how they weigh. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Thank you. You should have fun. The bite is pretty good. I have a video coming out tomorrow, but I caught the 7 fish that i used for the video all in about 15 minutes. Deep water, but they are about 10-15 ft deep. good luck! Oh, a lot of people have been fishing the bridge. I have not tried it, but there are a lot of people so it should be producing.
In this video I talk about how these scales work as well as the different weights I see with both and what I am thinking is going on. If you have more info on how these scales work, please comment and let us know as well as your thoughts on this video! Thank you in advance for watching and leaving a comment!
man that is awesome!!! You are correct there are things I remember from my early childhood fishing with my father and grandfather in an area that does not exist anymore, well the lake is there, but all the land was sold off and developed, you just have to look at it and remember. Glad I could conger up a good memory for ya. Thanks for taking the time to watch and also share your memory!
@@AsleepAtTheReel Very much enjoyed my time living in Texas during the 80's, native Californian here and still an inmate of the late great state of CA. I bring my family back to East TX yearly so they can get a taste of my old stomping grounds. I moved on to saltwater fishing once transferred back to CA, gives me the sense of freedome that I used to feel when I lived in TX. Kind of sad to see just how screwed up Dallas has become compared to what it was a few decades back when I lived there. Whoever designed the newer freeways on the east side of town should be strung up for incompetence.
Yo, Camo Joe, how are you? Thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope you are well, have not seen your name on here in a while. Glad to have you back!
ha ha sorry, it was a joke as I have been telling everyone that he stole my boat. What makes it even better is that he took the time to turn my camera on and say that. The sad part is that I woke up about 30 minutes or less after he left and literally sat at the AirBnB all afternoon waiting for him to answer my call. He had it on mute. The bright side is that I got to spend 1 hour and 10 minutes on hold with Garmin and got my transducer taken care of. Sorry to give you a heart attack. I just thought it was funny since he said it on the video. have a good day bud!
Yes and yes. Instead of having to dig through the live well, I just pull up the bag. Makes it a ton easier. On the other side if you are fishing for something like bluegill that you catch quick, you can leave it floating by you in the lake, just tie a rope to it, catch your fish and drop them right in the basket that is floating on the water, or if in a kayak or canoe have it flat next to you. On a video we just shot, we took all of our fish, then went to my buddies boat and grabbed all of his fish, plus some that we had in the cooler from yesterday, put them all in the Thump Net and moved them to the sink to clean. Made it a lot easier. We probably had 40-50 fish in the Thump Net and had room for twice that.
ha ha We are blessed with our lakes! We have some great crappie habitats here. I appreciate the view and the comment. Boats are not everything, I started fishing docks and the bank. I appreciate you!
Great video, Sarge! I used to fish up there a ton back in the days of bass fishing. One of the other lakes there used to be home to monster Bass. Wondered how the fishing up there was now. Thanks for the video.
Very cool! Yeah there are some good bass in there from what I can tell. We caught a couple while crappie fishing. I really like that lake. Last week was the first time I have ever been there then the tournament yesterday. It was really good. Thanks for watching and commenting brother and Happy Fathers Day!
It is a good lake, totally different fishing than I am used to here in Texas. The funny thing is the wind the day before 3 hours south at Gunnersville AL, ran me off the lake. The next 4 days were pretty much like this video. I have more coming of the trip, more blog style as it is hard to get a video made from prefishing. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Come back up to Hamilton sometime, levels are normal...plus lots of tagged $ fish ( no crappie tagged though)...Already had a 5k bass caught....look up Hot Springs Fishing Challenge...
It really was considering when you throw the jig it comes back at ya! 😂. Here again for PreFishing for the tournament and caught some nice ones tonight. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I wish I had a boat with all the fancy equipment… it was really so difficult catching crappie this year off the bank with the waters being so low and the crazy storms that happen every week. At the same time though it’s very rewarding when I finally find them and catch some. I really have to use my brain and instinct to find them so when I do get them it makes me feel good.
Thanks for the comment!! The fishing you are doing is what everyone needs to do. There are many channels out there that got livescope and started a RU-vid channel. You need to know how to fish without it. Even the fancy equipment fails and if you don’t know how to fish without it you will starve. I personally like fishing without electronics. I started out fishing from the bank and off docks. Finally saved up and got a 1977 Cajun for basically nothing. Once I retired from 2 jobs I was able to get this stuff. Seriously enjoy it and maybe look at a Kayak or something just to get you on the water. Again, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Nice video, Chris. Atchafalaya River is finally starting to come down, so hopefully, in a couple of weeks, we can start catching some fish (as long as the tropical weather stays away)!
Thank you. Yeah hopefully it will not be as bad as they are predicting this year. If yall get one, it effects us too, not as bad, but we get the rain. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes Sir, was great to meet you. I put a message on one of your shows looking for your phone number. Misty sent it to me so will give you a shout today.
