This dog looks like it could be the best balance between a family dog, a guard dog, not to big for a smaller space, not gonna drool, not so driven as a malinois, not too much hair, would be fine in a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters. what do you guys think?
My Rottweiler passed at 13yrs. The for mine I him gave regular exercise (Daily walks / runs) keep them mobile and keep their weight at a healthy amount because too much weight takes an awful toll on the hips also don't get your dogs tail docked mine had in done and in his later years 11/12 he develop a wabble when walking. Cod liver oils in their food great for bones skin/coat. Don't switch their food find one they like and stick to it. When my dog was 11 I thought he wouldn't make it to see Christmas but then through circumstances ended up getting a kitten which I truly belive gave him a new lease of life because he really looked after the kitten for about 2 yrs when he finally passed. At the grand old age of 13 years. Don't forget to pet them every day.
I was walking my German Shepherd in my neighborhood at night and we came across a couple coyote and one of them started to come towards me and my German Shepherd got in between me and that coyote in in aggressive, defensive posture, and the coyote changed its mind with a quickness reversing its direction
I do jiujitsu with my giant schnauzer great sparring partner..and every time im home hes tryna get into my gi bag to get my gloves out so we can spar hes funny😂
We had our ridgeback for 12 years, we showed him and he was a fantastic dog. Lean he was 44kg and off show he was 51kg. A fantastic family addition and a very loyal dog. Very lazy in the house but as soon as you get out in the open he was off. I'd highly recommend getting one.
So Standard Schnauzers used to follow butchers carts to market for long distances protecting both the farmer and his goods, often had to find their own food once they arrived to market, and then journey back home again, thus the independent streek in the breed. Standard and Giant Schnauzers are with you because they want to be not because they need to be, and owners should really understand this about this breed first before owning or training them. They really do think alot more like human beings than dogs. Great breed!
Kudos to this owner! I have a female Malinois, she is about 6 months old now. So much of her story mirrors ours. The saving grace is that in Florida, we have a pool at our house, and our girl LOVES to play pool fetch, will fetch for hours if we let her. So that helps wear her out on days that it's too hot to go out and run or we miss the morning cool weather window. This girl has gotten firm corrections (from me, mostly) since puppyhood. With her, if the correction isn't very firm, she interprets it as "PLAY", and so the bad behavior continues. Like jumping, biting clothing, etc. Other people in the house are afraid to "be mean" and correct her as firmly as she needs, so I have to coach them sometimes. It's kind of funny, they do a mild correction and the bad behavior continues, with barking and jumping around because to her it's play. The e-collar has been helping now that we've tried one.
Do we really want to debate the origin of the Boerboel this is so disrespectful you love the breed but don't respect the orogin of the dog this is so sad and disrespectful to South Africans what you have is pure south African muscle if you don't respect the orogin of the breed then don't advocate for it get you an American pitbull instead
I found my first Newfounland in a rescue at 6 months old. Poor thing all bones. Our girl Thunder is now 6 years old and the heart of our home. She has spoiled us for all other breeds now 😅 Floggers on the wall and all. Most loving, intelligent furry angel ever to be blessed with.
We had a rhodesian ridgeback when I was a kid such a great dog she lived to be 12 years old only time in my life I ever saw my father cry was when she died
You are an extraordinary person you love dog's and you found your own way to use your passion to help fund your life and household... Which is what a lot of us here in the USA are going to have to do, I myself also want to go in to that very same direction.... , Dog's are amazing and have always been man's best friend. Just imagine starting with a brand new puppy!! I love giant schnauzers, They are so distinguished looking, Perfect little Scottish gentlemen.
An interesting behavior of the Phu Quoc dog is that, when close to giving birth, the dog instinctively digs a secluded nest far from its owner's home. After giving birth, the dog returns the following day to guide the owner to the nest, seeming to ask for help in bringing the puppies back home. This instintive behaviour may be due to genetic traits from their ancestors, who once lived as wild dogs.
@@warriorsage591 Boi Bitches aren’t carrying a set but they still all Fila!! 🤣 That Fila don’t need a pair to be a real Fila, he can always grab a pair on the closest stranger. lol.
We rescued a dog and was told it was a Basset Hound mix and wouldn’t get larger than 50 - 60 lbs. We named him Buster, as a Toy Story reference. Well we sent in a sample to see what breed he is, because he had spots that we never seen on a Basset. Long story short, he is 63% Blue tick, 7% Treewalker Coonhound, and 30% Beagle and last time we weighed him, he was 85 lbs at only 18 months old. 😂 This woman hit the nail on the head with every sentence. He will literally escape and go visit all of our neighbors. He almost got attacked by a mean Parrot once. He REALLY wants to be friends with it but it ain’t about that life sadly. I have three kids from 3 - 10 years old and he is amazing with them. He WILL wrestle back if they are getting rough however, but young kids are just pups as well and they learn how far to push him. He was just outback with the four of us and was playing and running around in the leaves with the kids. I love that stubborn, EXTREMELY SMART, musty, droopy faced hound dog. I wish I could post a picture, he is a beautiful dog.
obesity kills dogs earlier, same as human. you gotta be jooking, noo X) its sad to see so many obese dogs in the dog groups. especially in the US i got attacked severely online bc my fit dog looks "starved" while others brag about their biig biig "all muscle" dog, that looks more like a potbelly pig than a rottie or pittie...
Got two labs when our children were babies. Had the dogs for 15 years. Labs are AMAZING with children. Awesome family pets who adore being part of all family activities. Couldn’t ask for better for small children. We have GSDs now and they are wonderful in their own way.
Gd info the 1st brindle dog looks just like mine except for not having a cropped tail and a lil taller than mine ! I have a band dog half cane, corso and half xl pitt the best family member I've ever had,!!!!!!!
My family has had our baby girl for almost 3 years now. She was rescued from a shelter, and we all instantly fell in love with her. The biggest cuddlebug, energized as a kindergartener jacked up on Halloween candy, and we have definitely gotten so many adventures with her.
It has nothing to do with the original Irish Wolfhound, which was inexplicably bred back. The old was much more aggressive and temperamental, as well as fuller.
I have a rotten lil one, her name is Betty Ann she’s so energetic barks at leafs loves to swim very playful the vet says she needs eye surgery though her eyelashes are getting in her eyes? She’s my baby and I love her to pieces
I hope these large mastiff breeds like this never become fashionable like the Corso. It takes a certain type of owner with a certain lifestyle in a certain environment with particular training to make sure you have a mentally well adjusted and healthy animal. It’s not for everyone.
Love hearing responsible breeders say we are weeding dogs out of our breeding program and are ending up with a more genetically diverse and healthier dog as we go. Why has that become such a foreign concept in the majority of breeders today? These backyard breeders especially with breeds like the micro bullies are breeding unhealthy traits in to their animals because it’s “cute” and charging 10k for an animal that won’t survive 5 years and you might spend another 10k trying to save that animal over that 5 years. I’ll get off my soapbox now but love hearing responsible breeders no matter the breed.
