As someone on the more casual end of the game, with no access to most expensive cards (have not pulled anything better than Maui/AWNW/Daisy, and budget can't justify $30+ for one card), it is nice to see some of the cards I like to play that aren't always considered "tournament level" appear in these decks. Cards like Bumbling Heihei, Zero to Hero, Kronk, and Tiana Celebrating, I don't see on many tournament lists. At least I'm not completely crazy for including them in my decks. 🤣🤣🤣
No castle list here. 1/3s were for steel removal and to pair with crabs. Will like switch 4 to followers to dodge sisu versus red blue and contest flynn in the mirror
New player and been loving that Emerald/Amethyst deck so far. Not my favorite but my favorites are all very expensive lol. Only need to replace a handful of cards to make it very budget friendly and still strong. Highly recommend, especially for anyone who likes a grindy control type deck.
There’s a reason not to play T&A with the 1/3 because you want your 1 drops to live long plus Teeth doesn’t even guarantee you kill something since a majority of aggro and steel song characters have 3 or 4 willpower. Also Crab with the 1/3 guarantees you’re killing something.
You nailed the idea of the John items list, that was my list but essentially yea you recur the items to assemble a lock. Deck is very very good into steel song
@aaronbrown7961 I beat 2 emerald amethyst in the event, one aggro, one more tempo. Sword removing Mims sets up huge board swings since they had to remove a guy to play it and they don't have clean answers to John. It can get dicey with goat math as the game goes on since that's a way for them to close it out through the lock but it's doable for sure. As for traditional items, I played against it once in Swiss (worth noting we split the top cut so the standings posted were the standings after swiss) and took it in 3 but it ultimately came down to who saw the hiram engine first but I was able to pretty handedly take game 3 of that set thanks to a turn 2 tipo letting me john on 3 and then pawp -> hiram -> recur pawp on turn 4 to just draw 4
Good variety but the meta is kind of boring. Realizing maybe it’s the nature of the game. It’s like all decks are control but with splashes of aggro or mid range sprinkled onto them. Seems no matter what deck you play it’s all a similar play style. There is no true win conditions in this game maybe that’s why. The closest thing we have is maybe wheel or tamatoa but still not a true consistent win condition.
I think people were playing the Minnie Mouse and the olafs not only to challenge into Daisy, but because it can tank let the storm rage on and what not I think people are starting to realize that steel song is the best deck in the meta right now
And they are also very good against amber steel songs on the draw when you want your 1-drop to stick to bounce into a snake on turn two in Ruby Amy. -Love, A red purple player
There are alot of rly good players who live here in mn now that I think about it. I've hung out with a few of those people and see a couple at my locals!
I think olaf and minnie in the RA lists are because storm rages on from Song/Steel on turn 2/3 on broom/chirnabogs disrupts the game plan to then bounce for fox or utilise crab to hit daisy duck etc. 3 HP is a good break point to be at for that deck. Thanks for the deck coverage.
Yup Chernabog and Broom suck when steel song is meta. It sucks because the cards are good but after turn 2 they are not very good 1 drops. Broom is alot better because you can banish it the turn it’s played if you play another character
You need 4 copies minimum of a 1-3 character in Amethyst for Cinderella’s LTSRO, yes, but there’s an additional reason you don’t want all these 1 defense 1 drops - aggro decks. Trading your Chernabog’s for a 1 drop Lilo or Maleficent after they already quested for 2 feels bad. You want to be able to challenge their aggressive questers ASAP and survive so you can play your snakes and foxes. Chernabog’s is largely a luxury you cannot afford to play this set. At least the Broom has 2 defense so you can use it + the crab to take out Daisy and survive.
These streams have helped so much as a newer player trying to learn the meta and thought process behind cards and plays, great commentary from you guys!

On the very first match up on the second game. The ruby/sapphire player cheated and and inked 2 cards in the same turn. Inked one to have 4 to play Hiram and then drew then inked the queen in the same turn.
Hi Nice video ! wow game one was solid ..... Game two i feel the ruby guys loose by himself.... looking for masive removal but ink the be prep ... he need to keep it he was about to be able to play it.
Next time (even though you might not expect it to happen) plan for down time and maybe have some cards to talk about and how you like them or how they could mess with whatever the current meta is.
