What a mischaracterization of Jordan Peterson. He was prescribed benzos by a doctor and did not abuse the prescription. His issue was a very toxic reaction to getting off of the meds. This is a well-known and dangerous issue with benzos.
My daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren live with me and my daughter is being held as an emotional hostage by her husband. Son-in-law never wanted to listen to her or the child. He always stayed in the bathroom (taking a poop) and ignore the family. My daughter and the doctor at work had superheros as a common interest. Then they texted each other until the texting became everyday. They never had a physical relationship but her husband accused her of cheating. So he said that she hurt him and he wanted to kill himself because of her cheating. He went to therapy when his work provided it for free and he won't go anymore because he said it doesn't help him it just brings up his bad feelings. He said he is insecure and he can't help feeling like she should be with him every second. He leaves the house to run errands like food for kids lunches, comicbook store, stuff he wants but she was sick this weekend and she still has to be next to him or else she doesn't love him. I know the way she was raised is my fault because I was in an emotionally abusive relationship too and I tried to talk to my husband but it always ended that I was the bad person and the taunting was relentless up until he F√€×ed me at night the went to sleep. I lost all my friends, I had no family and he took all my money. He has 2 older daughters that hated our daughter and he threatened to kill me if I left and tried to take our daughter and he said he would let his oldest daughter take care of our daughter but I know she would try to do something our daughter so I chose to stay to protect her. My husband knew lawyers he worked for the Department of Justice so I felt trapped. I was 26 when I meet him and he was 17 years older than me so I thought he would be mature, turns out he was mature enough to manipulate me. Everything this person speaks of is exactly what I went through but I didn't know that there were other forms of abuse than beating the wife. Everyone thought he was a nice man and told me I was lucky to have him but none of them ever lived with him. I did this to my daughter and now she is in the same situation as I was in. She is constantly apologizing to him because his feelings are hurt or he doesn't like not getting attention. My son-in-law has turned her children against her, they blame her for making their dad angry but he has always been angry and blames others for his problem. It's a vicious cycle that will never be broken unless girls & women are taught to understand the different forms of abuse and to understand that they are not objects for men to posses. We are people that have a right to say what's on our mind and if we are ridiculed for it we don't have to take it. I didn't know any better because I was raised the traditional Mexican woman to serve.
Exactly you missed alot about her situation but didn't seem to acknowledge her father's behavior including making her put a device up her vagina so she couldn't get pregnant.. which she doesn't need anymore children but it was forced...as well as the lithium..too much lithium didn't make her better
I died once from mixing alcohol with pills and not caring about living or dying due to stress and tolerance. This july 2024 I blacked out and had withdrawals then seizures as i lost my medication or took it during the blackout. fell on my head and cut my lip when i busted my jaw during one fall. no alcohol almost since the start of 2024. getting easier one day at a time.
My addiction started innocently enough-just a weekend thing, a party drug with friends. But soon, I was buying it for myself, using it alone. I stopped going out, not because I didn’t want to party, but because I didn’t want to share. Slowly, I began neglecting everything that mattered-my relationships, my responsibilities, my life. When my cousin passed away, instead of facing the grief, I drowned in cocaine. I spiraled out of control, and eventually and understandably, my girl dumped me. What followed was a two-year bender that consumed everything-my time, my money, my friendships. I was stuck in a cycle of destruction, unaware of how much I was losing with each passing day. Then one morning, I woke up and realized: two years of my life were gone, spent chasing a high that gave me nothing but emptiness in return. The damage was done. But today, I stand here, one year clean-rebuilding, healing, and finally learning how to live again.

It was just a blip near the end where he said WRITING THINGS DOWN. You gotta try this. Let me illustrate how as briefly as I can. The other day I’m spiraling. Worry after worry and unrealistic worst case scenarios playing in my head on loop. People are making fun of me in my imagination, my brain is foggy, I’m behind schedule, I’m shortening my to do list to bare essentials, I want to quit all the amazing things I’ve been doing to fix my physical and mental and emotional and financial problems, I want to cry and scream melt down, I want to go off on the next person who twists the knife that’s already sticking out of my back, etc etc etc. Maybe you can relate. I stopped everything, opened notes app, and I made a list of everything that matters in my life that I’m worried about. Under each thing I wrote down why it’s important enough that I have to worry about it- what do I actually get out of this that i can’t let go. Under that I wrote down what the problem or worry is, including the unrealistic disaster ending that my disorder was adding to it. Under that I wrote why the disaster scenario is unrealistic and can’t really happen. Under that I wrote what the REAL worst case scenario is. Under that I wrote what I need to do about it, and how that is going to make things go my way. And then at the top I went back up and I combined all of these things into a mission statement/situation report on my life. Here’s what I got, here’s my problems, here’s how I’m handling it, here’s what I get if I keep going. And I felt calm and I felt like I was gonna make it. I felt so calm and able to function again that I went back down the notes app and I started doing more detailed stuff- building a schedule for the things I need to do, breaking down my general goals into simple step by step procedures, etc. I kept reading that throughout the night. I kept reading it the next day. I kept working the plan. I’m not cured yet. But I am not spiraling. I’m staying on target like this is the Death Star trench run. And I’m gonna blow these problems up.

I have 29 years experience with AA/NA. I would NEVER advise a female to go there. You WILL be preyed upon. Other members WILL cosign predatory behavior. Try Smart Recovery or Refuge Recovery.
