I do agree that there are conservative commentators who know nothing about She Hulk and are jumping on it because it's a trending topic.I watched Liberal Hivemind's video about She Hulk a couple weeks ago and the dude straight up asked "Why is she a lawyer?" and I'm like "Oh my god..." I mostly know her from the Marvel Cartoons and I can't read the Comics because I'm legally blind and I know this. The issue with Jen's rant to Bruce is that in context she's whining about how hard it is being a woman in western society to a man who's had it way worse than she has. The problem with the show is that the writers disrespect the character, Jen Walters is not a bitter super hero who whines about how awful her life is because she's a woman that's surrounded by stupid men. She Hulk is supposed to be a super hero that while enjoys being attractive is still a good person and uses her powers to help people. These days you can't have strong female characters that like being sexy because it's somehow problematic. It has nothing to do with it being a female Hulk, if that was the case they would've made videos whining about Wonder Woman, Lady Dimitrescu from the Resident Evil series, the Harley Quin tv show and anything that has a strong woman or female lead in it.
I find it interesting. There is so much male philosophizing in super hero shows. Much of these shows tell the male experience. They are the movers and shakers of the world. Many of the women are costumed and fashioned as male pinups. As long as they stick to a niche, it's okay. take Wonder Woman. She's a feminist, but she doesn't talk of what it's like to be a woman in a patriarchal society. Heroism isn't just a male thing. Women have a need for courage and people who speak to their experience. This show is meant to be silly, but like most amusing art there are hard truths inside even if they are disguised as the joke we're all in on. Women do experience mansplaining, and they do get catcalls and discounted even if very capable people. If women could just be responsible to solve it, they wouldn't get paid less for the same jobs. I still hear things like he has a family regarding pay inequity. If all they have to do iis take responsibility, they wouldn't lose rights. Just listening to lawmakers talk about women's bodies, their lives ,showed how the hostility is real. Males are excellent allies, but the reaction of many to things like She Hulk is telling. The hostile reaction is because people don't want to acknowledge it because they would have to change. I want my daughter to be an earth shaker like She Hulk in the real world, to feel she can act to save herself and those she loves. Positive images are important even if they are big and green and ridiculous. At least they aren't waiting for a prince or princess to save them. Humourous or not,
To be fair the fact that people only want stories that appeal to the status Quo is what he's talking about, and the status Quo is generally not harmful of you benefit from it
The She-Hulk advertising is literally meant to bait real marvel fans into engaging on social media to go trending and get hype in lieu of a badly written character. Literally look at the She-Hulk twitter, they're constantly roasting their fans, they're even making fun of Daredevil fans simply asking when he's gonna show up calling him Daredick. I don't even understand where Daredick comes from lol. Anyways I also don't think people are "freaking out" or "outraged" as a whole. Also there's multiple nods each episode to shitting on men or pointing out She-Hulks "womanhood". It's just like when has any male character ever directly said "I'm a manly man who must chug beers and lift weights" without literally being a joke on the character itself. This is essentially who She-Hulk is. Literally compare this to House of the Dragons which literally shows the first Woman who will be heir to the Iron Throne and they literally say the patriarchal society won't accept her. The difference is House of the Dragon writes this into the plot and She-Hulk is poorly written. But instead Marvel fans are just called outraged incels lol and they honestly fall for it and get baited by that She-Hulk twitter account.
Awesome video! I think a lot of the hate for the marvel stuff is really people grasping for straws. I rarely if ever hear a genuine case for why characters or scenes are harmful, it seems to always fall back on personal opinion based on stuff they just don't like.
Becuase she-hulk just feels like they want to replace Bruce with a female counterpart. She’s a Mary Sue, countlessly showing off her powers to Bruce and one-upping him, meanwhile Bruce has had years of experience on her. Also, the cgi and the writing in the show sucks, I miss the Marvel days then the movies had deeper meanings, like Captain America or Ironman.
While I do agree that the scene where Jennifer compares the struggles of being a woman, a very real issue in the world, to Bruce's mental and physical struggle with the Hulk is poorly done, I don't think the show is actively pushing a 'woke' agenda. I think the show is enjoyable and it's one of the better Marvel projects that's come out lately. Also I really don't understand why people are pissed of with the "twerking scene". Like yeah it's dumb, but I was laughing my ass off watching it.
I've only seen the first episode and I loved it. It was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I just want to find a video that talks positively about it. For me my marvel growing up was the 80s 90s cartoons. She hulk from my impression of that was Bruce's cousin who was like the opposite of hulk. She never de hulked she had control and continued her career as a lawyer. And I found that a fun juxtaposition especially the super power strong person doing everyday things
My main problem with the show and I think a lot of peoples problems don't have to do with the lead being female, it's more with to do with the fact that she hulk is written as a poor character who has little to no flaws because the writers of the show are scared to anger the woke feminists, who are in fact the small minority of feminists and females in general, but the loudest nonetheless.
Finally someone who sees the bigger picture. Woke culture is a cancer to the entertainment industry. Bunch of wack jobs with a Twitter account and discombobulated opinion lol
I did find the scene cringe because im a serious person. But I agree, this whole anti woke outraged is blown out of proportion to the max. It's just She-Hulk being silly, and these clowns are acting like the MCU did some TV 14 stuff. 😂😂

We got plenty of female superheroes. So it isn't about a female lead. It's about the cancellation of man. We life in in a time where a man isn't allowed to be a man anymore. With Feminist screaming equality but only if it benefits them. And if we speak about equality you must understand that the life quality in a western society is in favor of the women in many things. 1: If a man would go to jail for rape jail time is way higher then it is for women for the same crime. (RAPE IS BAD, BUT IT IS EQUILY BAD) If I would go to the police to press charges for being raped by a women.. they won't take me even serious. 2. If a married couple would divorce the court will favour the female. She can have the kids the home the dog the car. 3. Females don't get drafted to war. 4. Right because it ain't woke at all that in the first episode she describes how hard it is to be a woman when she has a good job, magically can control the hulk powers better than Bruce, and complains bout not being able to walk outside safely because she could get murder when literally in real life 80% of homicides are men and then proceed to "empower" women by putting a twerkin scene

You present an interesting array of details. No sarcasm intended: it's the way I read it. My view about storytelling and film making is that whenever there's no intention of creating a timeless classic, the back-story elements will include morality tales based on current events. Nothing new there..... it's to be expected. But step back and look at the bigger picture and it's clear (to me, at least) the morality tales chosen today are synchronized with the pendulum swinging in the direction of correcting perceived wrongs in our society. It's only natural that these backstories will play out the way they do: it's not more complicated than that.
